Its located on the left side road that runs from soi buakaow around the tue/fri market site. I have gone past on my bike but its very quiet, even on market days. its quite a good location to get business on the market days but a bit out of the way at other times for my money.

Cats Corner Bar Beer - Bahrain F1 G.P.
biggles replied to FELINE's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
count me in, even without the free food, always looking for a good spot to watch the race and then I can go and perve at baby dolls afterwards.... -
There are some people on this board who choose to always ignore the original question/topic and post whatever negative shit they can. I am not aware of the correct price but I can understand that a quoted price hike from 100 to 250 baht would be annoying, it would certainly piss me off and, yes, I can well afford it but its the principle of being gouged that I dont like regardless of the amount involved.

I Just got an email notification from Air asia on a sale they are having. I could get a flight very cheap from BKK to KL and return so, like stinky says, its a nice, clean destintion that you could spend a couple of days in. p4p is available, if you still have the energy after pattaya.

Pattaya Beer Garden introduces Bar Fines

I went down to PBG last night to check out the promo. It is a regular haunt of mine so my motivation wasnt necessarily to BF but I took a friend along from philippines. At about 7pm (one hour into the promo time) there were only 5-6 freelancers and about 20+ single guys. Nothing that really grabbed my attention so we went off to WS. I did see a couple of the promos on the ground while walking on Beach road so the word has got out but not much happening so far. ?? -
well I have good timing for a change, I arrive on the 25th. see you there paul and happy birthday.

SHOWING THE DATE FIRST POSTED
biggles replied to biggles's topic in Technical problems or questions.
Thanks Big Brian, when I read your post I decided to experiment a bit. I always hit View New Posts and that seems to be the problem as when I "hover" on the new posts I dont get the start date. If I just go into a section and hover over a post then I get the start date. anyone know if you can change the settings to get start date in View New Posts, please?? -
Of course the female backpacker could live cheap, the male backpackers were buying her beers!! when I first came the los about14 years ago I did the backpacker thing and lived on the cheap. Then after a few years I discovered p4p and what a difference it makes to your budget. I am not a big drinker and I rent a place permanently there but I usually get through $75 a day. Certainly dont live like a king.

when I look in the Trip Report index, If I put the cursor over a topic it shows me The date first posted. This does not happen when I do the same in other sections of the Board. Its a very handy feature as you have a better idea if you have probably read the post before without loading it to your pc (which can take a while) Is the feature availabloe on other sections or can I change the setup to make it available, please

Aussie "themed" Bars in Pattaya
biggles replied to Fondles's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
the Boomerang bar is on soi arunothai, (Soi 1),opposite Carrefour on pattaya klang, at the lights. Its an aussie themed bar. and its about 10 minutes walk down the street from Pattaya Klang. Its attached to the Shagwell Hotel and run by a couple of aussies. lots of memorabilia around the place and very well done up like an outback pub. Its a bit out of the way but if you are looking for aussie themed places its about the best around. Later in the week they have a filipino band at nightfor entertainment and show a lot of oz sports. -
Tiger Woods Embraces His Thai Half By Denying Reality

"trans generational traits " Isnt this what ladyboys are all about??? and yes, I got the joke as soon as I read the article, quite cleverly put together and believable. -
As Dr WOB says, probably your biggest problem will be communication with restaurant/shop staff. apart from their lack of english skills which can lead to misunderstandings, thais will often say what sounds good, rather than admit they dont know. its easier to say "doesnt have peanuts sir" than to admit you have no idea or to go and ask someone who might know the real situation. My grandson had a peanut allergy for the first four years of his life, he has grown out of it apparently but son had some very scary trips to the hospital and used to carry a special injector in case of an attack. Its a very serious problem for many people.

To find Cafe Pitini (a great cofee) If you are coming from pattaya central road its only about 200 yards. Head south and go around the S bend in the road. there is a small market on the right side, followed by a Kasikornbank (green and white signs). its on the right hand side about 50 yards further up, it has white plaster balustrading around it.

with regard to your mail from oz, if you dont have friends who will forward it, there are companies that will undertake this for you. 6 years ago I travelled oz in a motorhome and there was a company that had peoples mail redirected to them, they collected it and then regularly forwarded it to the customer. I got onto them through The campervan and motorhome club of australia (they have a web site and 50ooo+ members now) might be worth a try if no other option.

they seem to have a lot of problems with credit card bookings, particularly from outside RP. I was rejected the first two tries, success the next time and the card has been okay ever since. If there was a better option from bkk to clark at a good price I woulod give them the chop very quickly

further to the crime issue, in the 12 months i was there, no break ins in my street. My mate owns a house two streets away and has been there five years, no break ins in his street either. this area does not seem to be high crime.

I rented a very nicely furnished two bedroom townhouse on soi arunothai (not far from shagwell mansion and bar) for a year. only moved when the owner sold. I paid 12k a month but many places in that area (soi's 7,9 and 11) available for 10k upwards. have a walk around with your pen paper and phone as they put notices on the gate.

As I visit both angeles and pattaya I have now started getting dental work done in AC. found a good dentist, and very reasonable. I had three white, porcelain crowns done, each costing the equivalent of 3,000 baht. had them in about six months now and very pleased with the result. Previously used a dentist in pattaya klang for six years, very good service and reasonable prices but no comparison with the cost in AC

I am looking for a chipped Ps2. I am only interested in the slim-line version not the older bulky style. I would be very pleased if it also has some games with it. PM me or just post on here if you have or know someone who has one for sale. I have one already but want to take one back home with me.

In the Pattaya Mail they wrote this week about the new parking restrictions on Pattaya south road between second and third roads. From October 1st, parking will be on an Odds and Evens basis and a fine of 1,000 baht will be applied to offenders. The article said that 9 police officers will be used to enforce the restrictions. I drove down South road today and the signs have been erected advising the new rules, but they don't mention just how expensive it is. BE WARNED.

"New Living Dolls One" party time
biggles replied to S.A.S666's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
i walked past last night and was surprised to see that the signs advertising happy hour were not on display? ended up going to happy agogo instead. have you scrapped the happy hour now? -
You dont have to go over to the DS to get a reasonable house rental. I lived for a couple of years just off soi arunothai, I rented a lovely furnished two bedroom house for 12k a month but there were many there for 10k just six months ago when I left. Have a look at a map for the location, You go down pattaya central road, over third road until you get to the next traffic lights, Carrefour is on the left. Turn right at the lights and you are in soi arunothai. this is a long, winding street and it has many side streets with houses for rent. Its only 10 mins walk to carrefour and the baht buses so pretty handy and you dont have to cross sukhumvit road. Have a look at the notice board on ground floor carrefour for vacancies.

Also, if you buy a phone in thailand it will still work in your home country. I have used the one I bought 3 years ago in philippines as well, just change the sim card.

check their website www.cebupacificair.com for slight routes and times. Have flown bkk to clk many times with them and its very convenient. the planes are nearly always a little late. I think they fly 3 times a week one way and two times the other. They also fly direct from Clark to Cebu so you could visit angeles first and then Cebu.
