I havnt been for about five years but I did enjoy it. the water is clean in the pools, but it is very shallow all through. they have a couple of water slides and a roller coaster. its not that expensive as its aimed at thais , meals were quite reasonable when I was there.l It is also worth going up and riding the gondola car or the harness seat down from the top of the tower and the view from the tower is very good.

Looking for cheap apt for 3 mos
biggles replied to Hollywood's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I stay at 75 mansion, which is in soi nok kaow about 3 minutes walk from carrefour on pattaya klang. room is about 35 sq m, air, cable, furniture and balcony. 7,000 a month one month deposit, one month in advance. been there over a year and a great place with cameras and electr4onic entry and guard. lots of places around like this, some down to 5-6000 a month, look around soi buakaow between second road as transport is good from there. You do need to check it out yourself so just get a hotel for a couple of nights and hit the streets. -
Fon tuk mak mak. ..pissing rain in Pattaya
biggles replied to dontcha's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Eat your heart out guys, in sihanoukville cambodia, the sun is shining, the beaches are lovely, the food is cheap and just visited the "chicken farm" where a boomsing is only $5. Back to pattaya in three days tho so I hope the rain stops. tell the beach road girls I will be there to relieve their cash shortage !! -
Drink Wise, What Do You Normally Order?
biggles replied to Jiklo's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I have never liked beer so its usually sangsom and coke/sprite for me or just straight coke light if I am not drinking too much (ride a bike in pattaya) -
Nothing on their web site as yet. wonder if they will fly direct to KL or go via an australian city. I am a big wrap for AA and use them from gold coast to KL and KL to Clark a lot.

So, Is Pattaya Better for you, Worse, or the same?
biggles replied to Barrief's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
"pattaya for the unskilled working man is shot now" I am not so sure this will be a bad thing for pattaya having seen some of the behaviour. Perhaps they will go back to holidaying in spain again? " -
The reason so many thais are riding new scooters is HIRE PURCHASE. they pay the same prices as us but Low deposit, 3000k or so a month, very high interest rates puts them on wheels. lots of ladies offer bargain rates for overnight stay when the rent is due or the bike payment has to be made.

"On a motorbike you wouldn't dare stop. Some Thai driver behind you would plow right over you." Saw this happen on beach road the other day. Falang motorbike rider stopped and there was chaos behind him as all the speeding thai riders and drivers jammed on the brakes. He was lucky not to get killed !!

Have to agree that its better to get a cheap one hear rather than cart it around with you. I have found that the very cheap "region specific" DVD players sold in australia will play the thai dvd's, including the copy ones. I bought a Conia brand for $38 that works fine. Only the expensive units seem to be region coded.

I am on soi arunothai, it runs off pattaya central road near Carrefour. lots of townhouses in this area, some furnished for around 12-15000 a month.

If you are running a little late, dont despair. I have gone downstairs around 10 minutes past the hour of departure and the bus has still been loading. make the effort to go down and check before you abandon all hope.

i divide my time between pattaya and philippines. I rent a permanent studio room in pattaya near carrefour, security, air con, cable, storage for motorbike and close to everything. 7000 baht a month. the rest of the time n PI i just use hotels but because I have the permanent place i can travel very light which makes it so much easier. looking around for a place to rent in philippines but havnt decided where I want to base myself as yet.

I am sure that the "quality" tourists that the tourist board wants to attract can find much nicer places to go than pattaya (or thailand for that matter) If you have a lot of money, and you arnt coming here for the girls, you have a lot of first class destinations to choose from.

it might be faked but anyone who has spent any time in pattaya or Ac knows how regularly it happens. Happened to me a couple of times, particularly girls telling BF (sponsor) they are in the village while I was giving them a good seeing too....

Blue Ray Movies Available at Tukcom?
biggles replied to av8r's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
i do not have a blue ray player, but the copy blue ray dvds I buy upstairs at tukcom will play the cheap one I have. I am assuming therefore that they are not genuine blue ray and that is reflected in the cheap prices. Buyer beware I think -
Also remember that if you have a "special" girl, you can hire a costume at a number of places in pattaya to make her stand out from the crowd. they really love this and you will be rewarded later!!!

Its a generalisation but I reckon there is quite a lot of truth in your post. Perhaps tho it has something to do with the ages of the visitors, more young british tourists than young americans. When the young brits got discouraged from going to Spain they had to find somewhere else cheap to cause problems.

Almost seven years in pattaya and I have never used bottled water to clean my teeth. I actually fill up a couple of bottles from the tap and put them in the fridge to get cold !!

I have had 4 twelve month multiple entry visas from brisbane and my experience was the same as ozerob. good service and helpful advice. May I suggest you send an email to the consulate in Brisbane, attention Bill Dunne, detailing your requirements and your reasons for wanting this visa. My advice would be to also send some proof of your financial assetts (copy of bank statement e.g) to show that you have no need to work in thailand, which is often a concern when issuing a visa to someone under 50. Also note that if you leave the country just before the 12 months is up and re-enter again, you

I know, but you have to get your amusement where you can..... and at least its free!!!

the pedestrian xing outside royal garden is good for some entertainment. there is nothing quite like the look of terror on the faces of first time visitors who use the crossing when they realise that no one is going to stop and they are about to get run down.

biggles replied to BobsBBQ's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
i am saddened that you have had such a run of bad luck with your families health. I hope that the place sells quickly so that you can join them. -
also sorry to hear about the closure, its not easy running a business in thailand for a foreigner and I do admire anyone who gives it a go.

Just about my favourite time is from around the end of october to before christmas time for the reasons that dontcha has given. Some hotels put up rates early now, start of December for high season in some. when you book in, ask them if they will continue your off season room rate till the end of your stay, worth a try.
