New Visa in the works in PI (wish it was for Thailand)
biggles replied to soi6's topic in Expat Issues
Many former pattaya stayers who now live in PI, often comment on how easy it is to stay there long-term with a lot less hassles. -
I am fortunate that my Air asia flight from the gold coast in australia to KL gets in at 4.15am and at 7.20am there is a direct flight to clark. worth remembering for any ozzies considering AC.

Just logged onto the net and this fare deal has a catch in that it is tied in with hotel accommodation so it is not the good deal it first appears to be.
-
air asia has a big ad in todays Brisbane Courier Mail paper saying that if you pay the taxes and charges (cost $171) you can fly free from the Gold Coast to Kuala Lumpur. tickets must be booked before 31st august 2008 for travel between april and 31 July 2009. I will be putting my name down. i picked up 3 flights for $199 already and was pleased with the service.

Dont know where you are located but Air Asia has some cheap flights from coolangatta to malaysia then you can just get air asia KL to bkk pretty cheap as well. www.airasia.com

"Most of the guys we get in are not looking to hook up but some will if the right girl attracts their attention" Very true Pete. Mate and I would probably drop in about five times a week in the afternoon for an early drink with no intentions to find a girl. the staff are super friendly (and some are better looking than the FL) the view and music are great and the drinks are reasonably priced. Mate did weaken a couple of nights ago however and succumbed to the offer of a massage. a couple of your regular FL are very nice ladies and at only 30 baht a drink its a pleasure to buy them one. Chawg dee khrup for the future.

Sporting equipment seems to have free carriage but I reckon with the airlines taking every dollar they can get its only a matter of time until heavier items, such as golf clubs, surfboards etc get charged.

There is a Driving range at the top of Pattaya Central road at Sukhumvit road, just a little to the right of the intersection. It has a large sign up. it is on the Eastern side of the highway and is Korean run. I have a couple of friends who use it regularly. they also have a putting practice green. easy to get there and back by baht bus

Pattaya Beer garden update - 15 June 2008
biggles replied to PattayaPete's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
I always thought you would be popular with couples as its a great location with reasonable prices. I also predict that with high season your tourist trade will grow a lot for the same reasons. Pool tables could help to "break the ice" between the FL and potential customers I think. One question:- why does everyone have to check bin at 6pm. I realise its a shift change but surely your computer billing would give you a tally and a reconciliation with the till (if required) Seen a couple of people leave after being asked to check-bin I think because some staff can't explain why it has to be done. -
It took guts to get rid of the Ugly Brothers after so many years as the resident band but when I heard the new group for the first time last night i realised that it was a great decision. Shit, they sing in tune, you can understand the words, and the girls look lovely. Very friendly people too, when they left the stage for their break they wandered around the room saying hello to all the customers in the bar. Nice to see. This group certainly knows how to entertain. I look forward to hearing them many times in the future, Nice Move.

I am booked on a flight that leaves GC 9.35pm sunday, giving me all day to get there and I return on a flight that arrives in GC early morning. I have been paying around $A1,100+ for flights booked in BKK, return to BKK for a couple of years now so its quite a saving for me. the extra time doesnt bother me as I dont work anymore. If you are short of time then the money probably isnt as important.

Looking for a house to rent...
biggles replied to frostfire's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
If you dont find anything before you get there, look at the notice board on the ground floor of carrefour or outside the Friendship supermarket. Lots of houses for rent around pattaya. I am 10 mins walk from carrefour and pay $12000 a month for a nice, furnished house; quite a few near me for 10K-15k. -
air Asia has a sale on at the moment. Flights from KL/GC are down to $199. You must book and pay before 8th May but the flights are upto 16th Novem ber. I have a flight Kl to GC in July and a return flight GC/KL/GC in sept/November. the three flights cost $600 including taxes and charges. Lots of options to get to KL from BKK (around $45 with air asia) Get in quickly

I hope this never catches on in thailand. the sight of a nice little ass crack from a cute thai girl squatting down certainly gives a lift to my day.
-
Many people get caught turning from 2nd road left into pattaya central road. there is a sign there but it is in thai and the BIB make quite a nice amount of tea money. This is one of the very few places I am aware of locally that you cant do a left turn on the red. Any more??

I use kasikornbank, have an internet access as well. use it from australia quite regularly and had no problems. they pay shit interest so not worth having too much money in it. You might find one of the banks with branches in other asian cities suits you better though.
-
Yes, you are told you should have a return ticket BUT if you have a valid visa for thailand you will not have a problem with the either airline or immigration. On my third multiple entry O visa, 13 trips on them and never had a problem.

HOMEPRO which is part of Carrefour department store, Pattaya Central road just over third road on the left side heading towards sukhumvit has a very big range of plumbing fixtures of all types. Its the most likely place to get one, I bought one there but I got a plastic one and didnt notice if they had metal ones.
-
The one that I bought had a rubber washer inside it, which is essential to stop it leaking at the "gun" . If you wrap plumbers tape around the connection from the hose to the household water pipe you should find that you dont need to tighten it up that much to stop it leaking.

last night in Windmill my friend and I were violently assaulted by two young, naked thai girls. this was after buying one LD and two 20 baht tips. she attacked his member with her mouth and violated his fingers with intimate parts of her body. We will seriously have to reconsider whether we return to this bar again but, hey, someone has to do it!!!

I sail quite a lot in australia however gave it up here. You might try the royal varuna yacht club in Jomtien. its actually a sailing club, small boats only but you may get a crew position. From my (limited) experience going there they are a pretty "snobby" lot though. keep the fees high to keep the riff raff out. there is a big Ocean Marina further down off sukhumvit road in Jomtien, you might have some success there if you ask around.
-
Michaelangelo, not sure I understand your logic. You say they are sick of people asking the same stupid questions then you talk about all the people who come with the wrong forms/photos etc. Isn't that the whole reason for going in to ask the "experts" at immigration just what their requirements are so you dont come in with the wrong information?

THE SUPER CHEAP SKATE ROAD TO PATTAYA
biggles replied to crazyfox's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Times for Bell transport from airport are 8a, 10a, 12n, 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm so the big yellow bus times work in quite well with this if you dont want to hang around waiting for Bell bus. PC800, will the jomtien bus actually let you off somewhere on Sukhumvit (say pattaya Klang) or does it not stop at all until Jomtien.?? -
thanks for all the feed back and particular thanks to 007cableguy and sabang for the hotel link.
