  1. My bike is 9+ years old (6,000 genuine km) and I am often away when it is due. I have always used the testing station heading North on Sukhumvit. Over Pattaya South road and it's past Soi 46 a few hundred yards. Big 'Gear' sign. Office staff great, rarely busy, test bike while you sit in the waiting room. They keep my renewal cert for me, sometimes 2+ months. Highly recommend
  2. Yes, it could be badly misused. The implications for a 'big brother' type surveillance is also pretty scary. This AI girl has 100,000+ followers! Imagine the money her followers could send her.
  3. The cops will be on 3rd road near Excite site most Tuesdays and Fridays, Buakaow market days. Usually between 10a and 12.30p or so
  4. We just returned from 6 weeks in Pattaya and my partner suffered from Sinusitis constantly. Blocked nose, sore eyes etc. Same every year at this time but not as bad as when we went tp Chiang Mai. After a 5 day visit it took a month to clear her Sinus's out.
  5. Unless Thais develop a liking for cannabis I wonder if the market from foreigners is strong enough, especially in low season, to sustain the explosion in weed outlets. Same in Pattaya where many places seem empty of customers. Thanks for your many pictorial reports mate. You live a great life and nice of you to share it with us.
  6. Their is a 'capsule' hotel on the bottom floor in the mall, close to where the buses leave from. Stayed there a few times, not luxury but OK.
  7. I am amused when I see the money that the city is spending on road signage etc. Bright re-painted ped crossings, cross hatching at intersections (do not block) etc. All of which will be totally ignored by Thai drivers.
  8. Congrats Adam, made the first one but have to miss this one unfortunately. Have a great night.
  9. Thanks for these, never watched him before. He talks a lot of sense and I like the way he pokes fun at both sides of politics
  10. RT, thanks for the update. Always like your TR, and much appreciated.
  11. RT, I do enjoy your 'Food' photos, so a couple of pics of the Hoi would be appreciated ?
  12. Hi RT, just wanted to say thanks for your many great TR over the years. You certainly live life to the fullest, beautiful girls, very delicious food and exotic drinks. Just a small amount of envy from me... Keep enjoying it mate.
  13. It's Thailand, everything is a scam, usually involving 'public servants' getting a government salary. Nothing will change, part of Thai culture.
  14. Great news, had the same agent for years so will visit them when I get back. Thanks
  15. Stuck overseas for 2 years so the tax on my 8 year old Click has expired. Can an agent, who does the 5 year+ test as well, renew it for me or must I go to the DLT? Anyone know, please?
  16. Looks like the place I have always used on sukhumvit. Think it's around Soi 41 or 42 heading north on left side
  17. Correct, but I was reading a report that more Thais now are staying seated... Wonder why that would be!
  18. You can almost guarantee this will happen when there is a different person on the counter. They all have their own interpretation of the requirements/rules
  19. Flights with PAL from Manila to Bangkok Jan and Feb have doubled in price in a few weeks. Cebu Pacific the same.
  20. ' What is surprising is the area still had flood waters during last Friday's storm that were high enough to force the closure of Sukhumvit.' You shouldnt be surprised, I have been waiting 20 years for them to solve the flooding problem. At least it provides a regular employment opportunity!
  21. Philippines Bureau of Quarantine are issuing an International Certificate of Quarantine, which you can apply for on line, but must collect. Proof of vaccination is required when applying, from the issuing City. There are probably hundreds of cities in the provinces giving jabs and issuing certification (we both have one) so this is a welcome step for international, and domestic, travel. Perhaps Thailands needs something similar!
  22. 'I will wait until,a western vaccine is available to me in Thailand' Pinetree, if you were like me, 75 and living in a country with a rapidly expanding covid rate and very few available vaccines for foreigners you might have a different view. By the time that Western vaccine gets to me I could be in hospital, or dead!
  23. GF (42) and I (75) had both doses of Sinovac at no cost here in Valenzuela City, just outside Manila. No problems at all, no arm soreness or headache etc. Not the best maybe, but at 75 much better than nothing, and better than friends in Pattaya at the moment
