Shit. that figures! I wonder if this will affect ticket holders with June departures? I paid top dollar for business class NS flight and if they change it to include a stopover, I would prefer to go with much cheaper Delta out of Philly. Thanks. I'll keep an eye on this one.

It's not for everybody, I agree. No lift. 4 flights can be daunting at times, especially when very drunk. It's really the only drawback. No pool. I used to think pool was critical but found I actually rarely use it. The suites are fully furnished. The balconies (yes, there are 2 in Penthouse #4) each come with 2-3 chairs. The view is of the Siam Baiyoke hotel and 2nd road. It's nice to sit out there at night. And while it might seem expensive compared to other hotels, it does have several amenities you won't find anywhere else for that price; FREE laundry service (just put it in a basket by the door and when you come back - bang! cleaned/pressed). High-speed internet in room. Washer/dryer in case you feel like having your GF do the laundry; full kitchen in case you GF knows how to cook (not likely). The location isn't BAD - just a little hard to get to. A few blocks from Soi 15, Anglewitch and Walking street. for 2800 baht a night, it's worth 2-3 day stay just to enjoy the amenities (Jacuzzi). I admit it's a bit pricey and I probably will try antoher place next time. But that said, the Vault is an EXCELLENT suite/hotel and worth every penny, IMHO.

I have come to believe it is a waste of money to "overspend" on hotel rooms. I just got back from 14 nights at the Vault Hotel and belive me, it is very nice! But, while the girls were "impressed" it did not improve the sex in anyway. I am of the thinking that clean/comfortable is better than luxurious, IMHO. Maybe if spending more time in the room was a factor than I could see paying for luxury/pampering. But as it was, I was actually in the hotel room for maybe 6 hours per day. I'll stick with middle quality places like Areca Lodge or Sabaii Inn in the future.

Imagine my surprise when I logged onto AOL from the Vault's suite fromm computer room and found that the previous member's signon was none other than the famouns Mrrobj! Shit. I knew I was on hollowed ground and that very moment. At 2800 baht per night the room is like 3X the size of anything else I've stayed in Pattaya. Jacuzzi big enough for 3 (believe me). Walk-in shower big enough for 5, with 2 separate shower heads. 2 sinks. Bathroom is separated by two locking doors. Kitchen includes full-size fridge, stove, washer/dryer, sink. Plenty of cabinet space for storage. Laundry service was included in price of room (this may change soon according to owner). Entertainment area includes full-size go-go poll with private couch in front. Huge bar with stools to accommodate 7 people. Another room with 2 large couches and large TV/Karoke/dvd/vcr/stero. 2 balconies over 2nd road from which to people watch. The bedroom consists of a huge bed with large wardrobe cabinets, safe, TV and independently operated AC system. Only drawback is 4 flights up with no lift. New Suite being built on first floor might be better option in 2 or 3 months. Owner is genuinely frinendly guy from Chicago. Pays his staff above/beyond what most do and "takes care" of his people well. Happy bunch all eager to please. Location isn't the greatest, but you can cut through SOI 15 from Walking street and be there in 10 minutes. It's definitely in the "indian" section. Baht busses will take you there for 50-100 baht from almost anywhere in Pattaya. Motorcycles even less. This is by far the nicest place I've been to yet. I recommend the hotel to anyone. Didn't really use the cooking facilities as only 1 of the 10 or so girls I had actually knew how to cook. (and that was really funny). May post some pics later. The Vault Hotel
