2 weeks ago I was checking prices for November and it was coming in at £1570 for 3 of us... just checked again and lo and behold it has shot up to £2300!!!!

In the Chang Mai one you can walk around in shoes but have to take them off if you were walking over the artwork.

I visited the "Art in Paradise" gallery up in Chiang Mai last October. Excellent place to visit.

As an avid F1 follower I was looking forward to combining a Thailand trip with a GP event... There is still some hope of finding a suitable venue and with significant amount of Thai sponsorship within F1 (Red Bull and Singha) there is a chance it could still happen.

I think the idea was abandoned to hold a Thai Grand Prix in Bangkok....

Thai have now taken delivery of the last of the 6 A380's they ordered.

5 years ago when the yellow shirts blockaded the airport I landed about at about the time Swampy was invaded - there was no sign of any protesters at arrivals and caught a taxi down to Pattaya. First I knew of it was when Hammer asked when what time I arrived when I went for an ice cold Singha round at Cherry bar. Have also been in Bangkok during times of protest and not seen any trouble.

The lads playing for the USA have done their country proud. Just watched Scotland V USA and was well impressed by the effort put in by the USA, leading 8-0 at half -time before getting beat 22-8. They never gave up.

Most of the players have qualified to play for Scotland by having Scottish Grandparents, and they are all are proud to represent Scotland. Went to see Scotland v Italy last weekend, great match in front of a sell out crowd. All the matches are being broadcast live in the UK and did notice that Singha was been advertised on the electronic hoardings during the Australia v Fiji match. They are trying to get Rugby League going in Thailand so there is a chance at some point in the future that there might even be a Thai team in the World cup. There is a couple of young Thai lads playing for my county's youth teams in the UK.

Well done to the USA Tomahawks for reaching the Rugby League World Cup 2013 Quarter Finals in their first appearance in the competition, beating Wales and The Cook Islands in the process. Their next match will no doubt be their last as they will face the World Ranked No1 Aussies.

Just spent 2 days up in Chiang Mai and I don't think I'd want to live there...... the traffic was nearly as bad as Bangkok. But I did enjoy driving the twisty road between Den Chai and Lampang, and the hillclimb up to Doi Suthep from Chaing Mai.

I intend retiring "up north"..... Won't be too far from an airport for cheap flights down to Sin City and there's already quite a few falang up there. Not really a big city person,I much prefer the easygoing life of a small provincial town.

Try looking for no "space" between the 2 words and it's there.

My other half's family live up north and you can always guarantee passing through police checkpoints on the journey back south... they are always on the lookout for yabba shipments heading south.

It wouldn't surprise me if Governments are targetting VPN's in search of terrorist activity. as well as criminal.
