Hi folks, hoping to go out to Pattaya for first time in March 06, want some sand and fun, like to see about and not going to just get ratted and sleep during the days. Would it be better to have 3 weeks rather than two? I have 3 wks holiday to use up...cheers.

I came to Pattaya 3 years ago for 3 weeks I'm still here.

Hi,

newbie here, just wondering.when you say you came for three weeks and ended up staying,is that literally or figuratively(sp?) speaking.

I first visited Pattaya in july/august this year and yep,you guessed it,i fell in love with the place :chogdee2

If all goes well i will be going back out on the 29th of december for three weeks. If i have as good a time this time as last(which i probably will <grin ) then i will be seriously thinking of kicking my job into touch and moving out here.

To those who have done this(other than bar owners) what do you do to make money?? 2guns

cheers.

i agree with everyone else! as long as possible! you will love it! and for valley boy (it wasnt you in the red t-shirt was it?!) id love to live there been going for 20 odd years now! but im gonna have to wait for my pension to kick in! 9im gonna finish as early as possible!) cos in my humble opinion! you need "guaranteed" money coming in every week! you know as well as me how cheap it is over there but you need money! you wont be able to live off your savings forever! however if you are lucky enough to have enough income be it pension , interest off savings et al! go for it! who wants to spend another winter here (the summers here arent much cop either come to think of it!) when you can be in thailand! so if you can go for it! good luck mate!

I have a differing opinion. if you only have 3 weeks holiday for the next 6-12 months that is gonna be a lot of pattaya blues. i would use 2 weeks now and then split the time left until you can get a third trip in. For example if you earn you next year's holiday in 6 months, go two weeks now and then 1 week in 3 months.

At my last job i got 2 weeks vacation and i would use those in one week increments every 3 months and then take two leaves of absense 3 months after the last trip so that i got in 4 one week trips a year. Unfortunately i am missing my Dec trip because I am changing jobs and with the background investigation looming i can't go anywhere in case i need to respond to further requests. to make matters worse, i won't earn any vacation for 12 months :banghead . i am going to start hitting the dating boards like a motherfucker so i can get more local opportunities going. Fortunately i am in a highly latin concentrated population soat least i can get a variation on the LBFM theme. Hoping I can catch a leave of absense in March.

literally, well almost I did come out for a planned 40 days the second time I came out here. The thought of getting on that plane bound for California dosn't appeal to me much.... cold, foggy, rainy, or tropical I'll stay right here. thank you very much. :clueless :clueless

The important considerations are how much holiday you get and when is your next allocation and your cash position.

You'd be better off coming with 3 weeks money and staying 2 weeks rather than coming with 2 weeks money and having to make it last 3 weeks.

I agree with Poker. If you only have three total weeks it might be best to split them up and go a couple of times.

Might be worth your while to check your companys policy about unpaid days off. Many companys will allow you extra time as long as they are not paying you. Check into working your off days and see if you can stockpile a few and stretch your next trip this way.

Visited pattaya in November (2005), originally for 2 weeks but within 2 days added an extra week, cost about £100. 3 weeks wasnt enough so going back for 4 wks in March 2006 You will love that place. It was my first time, went with friend who done pattaya 3 times in 12 mths, for a total of 9wks , hes going back with me in Mar 2006. That place will screw your life up, managed to keep my job with a bullshit story of being ill and missing the flight back, but i dunno how i will tell the missus about going in march, but you only live once.
