I couldn't log in for the past 8 months. Been having trouble with my web browser so tried a new one this past week, and "Shazam!" Back on.   Nice to see someone noticed I was gone.

Anyone notice that this forum has the world's worst "ignore" function. Time after time, helpless and hapless posters are forced to read posts, in their entirety, from people they have SPECIFICALLY told the forum software they do not wish to see show up on their screens. That's the part that gets me is that the forum software doesn't let you skip past posts from people you have on ignore, you have to actually read every complete post of those people.

Most forum software, if you put someone on "ignore", then you cannot, physically cannot SEE any post from the person you've put on ignore. You are totally unaware when an "ignored" person posts. But not this pieceaxhit forum software, no sir. You can't do that. "Ignore" means you are actually forced to read every post.

Weird.

.

Let me rephrase that-I clicked the "View this post" link-you're still and forever will be IGNORED.

I'll tell you what's weird. You've never been to a college game, much less the CWS in Omaha. So you can't compare it to AAA baseball.

Some people are here for 1 purpose and 1 only-to argue and cram their opinions on others. You are one and the other on IGNORE is Google Tommy.

It was nice here last week when both of you didn't post much or very little.

Start a thread and contribute something besides cramming your thoughts down this forum's throat and telling folks they are wrong. And argueing just for the sake of it.

Some people are here for 1 purpose and 1 only-to argue and cram their opinions on others.

Out of the blue, completely off the main topic, you stated:

Actually, the most entertaining baseball is played in Omaha

I didn't argue with that attempt to cram your opinion down my throat, or even mention that you tried to cram an opinion on me (and on all thread readers) as an absolute unarguable fact, since it IS your opinion and since to you it is unarguable. I simply replied conversationally and without a shred of argument that *I* preferred something different.

Know what? I still do. It wouldn't occur to me to say my preference is better, let alone that it is "the most" or the best or the only one.

I do think your claim that you have people on ignore is a hoot, though I don't get why you claim it. My way is a little different, not that I'd try to convince you it's the best by any means. If I want to ignore someone, I just ignore them. No buttons pushed, no posts made to show how I can't ignore them -- I just ignore them. Not everyone's cuppa, for sure, but it works a treat for me, so I'm just mentioning it.

Start a thread and contribute something

Actually, the last baseball thread you contributed quite a bit to, I did start. That was not too long ago, back when you ALSO didn't really have me on ignore.

Don't get cocky spike. You've got lots of time to do your thing when it's over. They're showing 1950s kinescope in that song because there's not a lot, recently.

I'm just saying. They say this Chinese guy Mr Lee can pitch pretty well. Or is he Korean?

It's 3-1 Giants in the top of the 9th joe... :cry4:

MLB still doesn't allow any game highlights to be posted on youtube... clueless

But it allows them to be posted on MLB.com, one of the most successful commercial websites ever.

Americans call it "the national pastime". But here's a very nice and short photo essay on what is really the international pastime. And hands up anyone who knew Hugo Chavez is a southpaw.

Bullshit Joe. Most Europeans and Britopeans know that baseball is only ever played in The States, by Septics, full stop.

Renetria had another big WS hit,but nobody remembers.

Some of us do. I said much earlier that the Giant who REALLY impressed me over September and into October was fat boy Uribe, who then proceeded to come through when absolutely needed, and made me look brilliant. But Rentereia is one of my very long-time favourites, and I well remember that very exciting Marlins team and their/his World Series win.

Both of these guys are just smooth as silk and lovely to watch even when they're dogging it. When they get competitive, watch out. Right Mr "I Don't Like to Walk Anybody" Lee?

The Marlins won in 2003, and I remember that Dave Barry column: Every six years, just like clockwork, the Marlins win the World Series. Cracked me up.

Good outcome for the hometown team. Now if the 49rs could get it going again, that would be even better.

Don't hold your breath on that one! Alex Smith and Singletary are not the guys.

Okay, MAYBE, now ESPN will show more than two weeknight games from the West coast over the course of the season next year.
