BEWARE....The Cottage Hotel...2nd Road.

Recommended Posts

It takes a lot before I would post anything negative about a business.

However, the Cottage Hotel opposite Big C second road is my worst ever Pattaya experience.

I spent a few days there last week. I had packed my bag and was checking out. Decided to have some breakfast in the lobby area first. As I left the room the maid came out of next door and asked if she could start cleaning my room?

I said yes and went to eat. Came back an hour later, picked my bag up and checked out. When I got home I was shocked to find most of my clothes missing. :banghead

I thought I must be going ting tong and recounted packing. I definitely remembered putting my shirts in and took care not to catch my clothes in the zipper. Most of my stuff had been laundered and was in a sealed plastic bag. Every brand name item was gone only leaving some copy crap t shirts.

I rang the hotel straight away. The bitch in reception was waiting for me for sure. All I said was ' Hello, did I leave any clothes in room xxx?

Reply?

' No sorry maid tell me you not leave any clothes in room' :D

Was she psychic?

I told her I would be back next day to get my clothes. My missus rang her as well. She got the hint that maybe a 500 baht tip would get my stuff back.

I walked in next day and the manageress (who I had never seen before) looked at me and said 'Sorry we can't find your clothes'

It was such an obvious set up.

To be honest it's not about how much I lost moneywise. The staff in the hotel are thieves. It's a simple as that.

That sucks, you did the right thing to name and shame, I hope it gets back to the owners :whistling:

The problem with naming and shaming on this board is. Several people will say that they stayed there and didn't have a problem. As if that means the OP is some how responsible for what happened. Others will consider it a recommendation, (or maybe a challenge) and book a room tomorrow. You can look at the Jetski scam thread, and the Walking street bar thread for conformation of that statement.

Personally, when I read about someone being cheated, scammed, or robbed, I consider that place not worth giving my hard earned Baht. Common sense tells me that 100% of the customers will not be cheated, scammed, or robbed, or they couldn't stay in business. It's usually a small percentage of customers that have problems. I just don't want to be in that percentile. Why would I want to, if there are honest run business's all over town?

I think their are alot of hot heads that post about bars, hotels,etc.....in the west many hospitality businesses will cater to and give in to "professional complainers"......Most All of my favorite bars and hotels in Pattaya, have been bad mouthed on chat boards by hot head complainers....so i have learned through experience to make hospitality decisions based on my own experience, not anyone elses, as the "heads up" they offer is meaningless....anyway, i dont think any Thai maids boyfriends could wear my clothes! :whistling: 1luv :D

Sounds a real cunts trick to me, and good that you have posted a heads up on this place. if they have done that, then how safe are possessions in the room when people stay there.

That is one of the reasons that i always stay in the same hotel and have done for years, where I know things are safe and I know the staff.
