Family Friendly Hotel or Appartment

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I'm heading back to Pattaya for my first visit in 3 years in November 2011 but sadly for only 2 weeks. But this time i am bringing my family with me. Dont get me wrong, my wife is Bi and we go out and play together, and we have a nanny for the kids.

But i havent visited before with my family and i have no idea where to start to look for a Hotel or Appartment that will be able to handle a family.

I've done a little search through the forums and found a few very expensive high end places but i'm more a lower to middle end type guy so they are way out of my price range.

Is there anyone who might be able to suggest a Hotel or know of a Good appartment where we can stay for a couple of weeks?

Gotta say i am hoping someone can come up with somewhere, i miss Patts and the playground so much.

Thanks in advance,

Gus.

It's much easier to offer recommendations if you give a budget range for what you're prepared to pay for two weeks' accommodation. It's also good if you can give some idea of your needs: are you looking for an apartment or hotel suite with two separate bedrooms? Is location important, i.e., near the beach or in a quiet neighborhood? Do you expect a swimming pool or other facilities?

Remember, one BM's high-end place can be another BM's low end.

Check out Pattaya Park Hotel in Jomtiem. Hotel is on the beach and has a big water park for the kids. I've stayed there a few times with my family and it's a OK hotel.

I have sent an email off to Pattaya Park Hotel but i haven't had a reply about the price to stay there yet. But thanks for the suggestion.

Evil i was hoping to spend something like 1500bt to 2500bt per night. My wife and i will be also paying for short time rooms when we are out playing.

Not overly picky about seperate bedrooms or anything like that but if it did have that would be good. Same with a pool or the beach, would be good to have them but not 100% needed.

We do need some basic cooking facilities though. My wife and our nanny are filipina's so they will want to cook sometimes.

I dont mind staying somewhere away from the action but we will be using public transport so as long as thats ok, and i dont fit on the back of a motorbike lol

I hope that helps a little, and thanks for any help you or anyone else can give.

Cheers

Residence Garden or Nova Park perhaps....

There is a really fancy new place up Soi Arunothai associated with the Nova Group too. A little isolated but secure inside, perhaps called Atrium.

If location is not important then surely your search should start in Naklua or Jomtien. There always seems to be great bargains in each end of the city.

I would agree with that, the Lek Hotel in Naklua has a great big pool I would imagine the kids would love it , also its far enough away from maybe what you would not want the kids to see as it were.

  • 4 weeks later...

RG for sure. Two pools, quiet, on the Baht bus route, 10 minute walk to WS, 10 minute ride to Jomtien. They also have 2 bedroom rooms available. I believe all rooms have small fully stocked kitchens, a few pots and pans, dishes, ect. Free WiFi or it was in Sept.Oct 10 when I was there last. I will be there in a couple weeks again. You can connect to them from the forum.

Naklua and Jomtien are where the Russians stay with their family's. I can't really give you any names of hotels, but I'm sure you could find them on your own. If you don't mind walking street, La Fontain on the south end of walking street has a kitchen, living room, bedroom, pool, 2 TV's and a DVD player. I didn't see any family's staying there, but it looks like a place you could at least stay for a few days while looking for some place that fits your needs better. I believe I was paying close to 900 baht a night during high season.

The Marriott, Hilton, Hard Rock, Amari Orchid Resort, and Holiday Inn are all family friendly, I'm not sure that they would fit into your budget though. Might be worth a look.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. However I believe there is a member of this board called Dancewatcher that rents condo's in View Telay 6 That may be a good option for you. I'm sure that someone here has his e-mail address or phone number. I would check the members listing for you, but I'm really tired right now. Maybe google has him listed.

I would have recommended that too since I loved my stay there in February. However he's bringing a family and will probably need a two bedroom unit which will be priced on the high end. I'd recommend Residence Garden they have two bedroom units.

I`ve spent months in Pattaya with my wife and kids. They love the place nearly as much as me. In my experience the most family oriented place was Sabai Resort beside the Big C shopping centre. I did it differently to you in hiring two small `villa`s` at the back of the resort. The nanny slept in one with the kids when the wife and i decided to bring a lady back for the night. Lovely gardens, beautiful pool, and very understanding and discreet staff.

We got a deal for fifteen hundred per room in April/May, but there are lots of cheaper options available.

If you wife knows the score and your kids needs a nanny ; which I beleieve is too young to play the water slides , I am sure the budget hotels around Soi Lengkee , Diana , Baukow should be enough. A simple pool so your kid can spend time playing water and a hotel where your wife wont get the 'walk of shame' if you bring a girl back would cost a max of 1200B.

You may even feel out of place in a higher end hotel.
