OK, there is a difference in eggs. I only knew there was a difference in size and age, otherwise they are pretty much the same. Guess not.

Not many people eat a breakfast that consists only of eggs.

Glad your not looking for an argument mate as I am tired of them and rarely post unless it's a fairly argument free subject!

Eggs.

Cheap eggs have a pale yellow yolk. Expensive eggs, a deep orange.

Cheap eggs - From battery chickens.

"Expensive" Eggs - Free range , farm sourced etc.

Eggs are also priced by size and sometimes by no hormone or antibiotics and with omega 3.

imho, these very cheap places source the cheapest ingredients and even buy stuff that's past it's sell by date. I'm not talking CDs,I am talking UK places I knew the owners , and maybe that is done worldwide. I personally try to buy better quality stuff. It's not an exact science in picking a place , but imho Robins ingredients would be far better quality than CDs.imho.

I am afraid you are not wholly correct on you description of eggs. Some cheap battery eggs are very yellow in the yolk as the chikens are fed a colour additive in their food to make the yolk yellow,so the colour of the yolk is not a reliable determinate of "quality".as for Hormone and anti biotics In the Uk at least you cant sell eggs from a chicken that has been given hormones or anti biotics within a certain time limit(I cant remember what that limit is ,but it is long enough that you cant detect the hormone or anti biotics in the chicken or egg)and the Omega 3 logo just means that the chickens have been fed some oil enriched food that may or may not be present in the eggs.I gathered this info whilst driving for both a battery egg outfit and a chiken hatchery,as well as the info I also got as many free eggs as I wanted.

PS in the case of milk ,a cow that has been injected with anti biotics, hormones or any drug will have its milk thrown away until the anti biotics and everything else clears its system, other wise it will be detected in the tank and the whole tank will be unusable. As the tanker collects at many different farms the guilty farmer will have to pay for all the other farmers milk thatgets thrown away,so it does not happen often. At each farm you have to take 2 samples in sterile containers to determine milk quality as well as fat content.

I stand corrected :thumbup

It's the sausages that I would be wary of. I have friends who wouldn't feed that level of 75bht breakfast sausage to their dogs!Punters probably use more energy digesting it,than they get in nourishment from it. imho, people would be better to walk down to McDs for a brekkie that at least has some quality control of it's ingredients.

Or the thai brekkiethat you can get in any restaurant of chicken and rice soup is excellent.

Yes, the sausage is dangerous. However I can't remember anyone dying of the sausages. Most all the breakfast meats are NOT cooked long enough. The ham is probably the safest to eat.

My very first post about CDs was partially concerned with the V poor quality of the sausage which I did not finish,so I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment of the sausages.

Not much of a recommendation! But if that's what some BMs require of their food, then I respect their choice and don't critisize it :chogdee

I think the basic requirement from BMs is that they don't get diarhea or some other stomach ailment from their food. It is my understanding that all too often this requirement isn't met, at many different establishments.

I respectfully disagree. Better quality places are busier and more successful. imho, people on holiday want decent grub.Although, obviously cheap charlies are around Soi Chaiyapoon.

Actually I think we do pretty swell in that respect in LOS, although I am a wary eater.

Last couple of doses of food poisoning I have had were both from Indian restaurants, one in the UK.

Don't do Indian food for breakfast though! :whistling:

I have only had food poisioning once in my quite long life and that was from a cafe in London.I am a wary eater all over the world and have always managed so far to avoid it even in the worst of places, which Pattaya is not.

I ate at Crazy Dave's twice on my last trip. The food is only OK, but it was OK enough that I went back a second time. I do like the Lek Hotel for breakfast. The food is not great, but it has been good for the past 4 years that I have been eating there.

Otherwise, my favorite is Thai food at the "Hole in the Wall." Yum

To each his own. I used to frequent Robin's Nestaurant for breakfast, but found the Butcher's Arms (Soi Bukhaou) and went there a few times on my last visit. It's quiet, the meal is fantastic, and the service very good. Others prefer CD's.

I agree that many think they have food poisioning when its something else.I had the one episode of food poisioning ,where I was in bed for a week and lost over a stone in weight, thats food poisioning ,having a dose of the shits can be down to as little as a change in the quality of the water you are drinking.

If I can relate my experience of food poisoning briefly.

In 1984 I was off sick for 14 weeks with salmonella through eating contaminated pork-14 long weeks !!

As I worked within a large factory enviroment wasn't allowed to return to work until 3 weekly samples were clear.

So next time you see chicken satay, pork etc being prepared for the nightly BBQ on wheels that go round the sois, see how many flies are feasting on it etc.

When you get a brief one day dose of the shits you haven't got food poisoning rest assured !!

Yes but how long were you actually unwell? The nuerotic requirements of your employer were one thing, my experiences of regular food poisoning is 4-5 days misery with perhaps a few residual cramps after that for a few more days.

The pork satay, ensure you see it on the grill for while and all is fine, flies or not. All my periods of ailment came from food prepared out of sight, in a kitchen, in a restaurant.

I was in hospital for 13 days and for another week I was rough after.

Yes the Employer was effectively the Civil service for purposes of explanation which as you rightly say were nuerotic and probably still are !

Wow a quick reply... but 21 days is a long duration but possible for salmonella.

I also see you can be a carrier for 12 weeks beyond that so perhaps calling your employer neurotic was harsh.

I recall getting into a foetal position to try and ease my cramps... no fun.

I had a recent infection from within the UK, in Thailand I seem to never have a problem, but the memories make me cautious.

Just got home last week and had breakfast at Crazy Daves most days, about 10 in total, tried other places but none was as good as Daves, yes it was greasy but thats what a good English brekie is all about. It was spot on every day. Plus the massage places across the road was nice and handy as well.
