fake wedding ring to discourage possessive BGs?

Like many BMs, I've had my share of encounters with very possessive BGs that really pushed for a more long-term relationship.

So I'm considering wearing a fake wedding ring as a way of showing girls that I'm unavailable for a LT relationship.

Anyone care to share some observations, opinions or personal experience if a wedding ring will actually help?

Are you joking? Is this a wind up? The girls don't care if you are married or not. Do you have any idea the number of married men that visit Pattaya? Or the number that go home and dump the old, arrogant, fat, bag of wind after visiting Pattaya. Wedding rings aren't an Asian thing anyway, a good portion wouldn't know one if they seen one.

Don't give out your home phone number, or e-mail address, and you have it covered. A ring will mean nothing to a bar girl. I'm a guy that went out on his wedding night, I can tell you from experience, not one woman cared about my getting married that night. They only cared about the amount of baht I was spending.

No wind up - that just seems like it would be a low-key way to proactivley manage a girl's expectations that, while you may spend a few days with her and treat her nice, you are never going to "come to village to meet mama and papa". :hairout

By her knowing the score from the start, one would hope to avoid the necessity of having to have that discussion at some point.

Look at it this way: If you're in a Pattaya bar or gogo and you're wearing a wedding ring, the girls who see it and recognize it for what it is will conclude that you don't care that you're married, so they won't either, and consider you fair game.

that's just weird...what's wrong with the old "no thanks I'm gay."

This has to be a wind up. The girls are working, most of them will have a boyfriend or husband at home. All they care about is that you have the bar fine and 1000 baht to give them. Whether you are married, not married, gay whatever is not even a consideration.

I tell em early on that I'm there for fun. They know what it means. Hasn't stopped me from having some great temporary relationships (is that a nice way to put it?) and easy to leave whether it's a couple days or a week. If they're around next time generally they're pretty happy to see me and go again.

Just don't do that bullshit leading them on thing (no idea why guys imply LTR when they're not going to deliver) and you avoid most of your problems right there.

Try it!

It'll give you something to talk about besides what part of Isaan she came from, how long she has worked bar (on this trip back to Pattaya) or why she no like Thai man, etc....

She'll ask you about your wife, where is the wife, why wife not with you, what your wife looks like, how old is the wife, etc... If she is really confident, she'll want to meet your wife or at least go to your room, condo or house to make sure she can leave little hints about her visit when she has left you.

It's a game. Play it, but be prepared.

Or if your intention is to avoid a LTR, then just tell the truth :)
