All American Hotdogs & Snow Cones: The weird combo

Looking on this combo before, I found it „ interesting „ ... Burger and sandwich - I mean no bun, but bread - with ice cream shake... huhh... Looking on the menu, I found it much more colorful, than the hot dogs, many different sandwiches for reasonable prices. ( chicken parmaggiano, pulled pork etc ) I hesitated to order the philly steak sanwich... but only until the service girl told me: „ Beef same same hamburger „ Hm... an other interesting concept. So let see the weird menu. The ice cream shake arrived first. This fact was a huge mistake, because I had to wait 5-10 more minutes and I wanted to drink the shake with the „ burger sandwich „ as I think it was te concept.... Hope not the new concept, first the dessert and after the meal. However, maybe just the – very kind – service girl was pity on me, as it was very hot, I full in sweat and I denied to enter to the air con inside part of the restaurand, despite of her beg to chill down inside.

I was prepared for a small sandwich and a milk shake. What a mistake. A huge meat patty – I never seen in my life such a huge one – top and down a slice ( cream, not real ) cheese between two toast made from quality brad. I like to eat this kind of suff with hands and it was a battle... The meat was tasty, jucy... simple good. I had a suspicion, it isn’t beef, but pork. ( Later the service girl confirmed it ) Again a patty don’t needed any sauce to add, it was fine as it was.

 

 

 

 

Ok, a slurp from the huge jar shake... It was delicious, full of material... I dare to say heavy.... A great, valuable dessert.... but not a side drink. The two together was a little bit stifling at the beginning. Thanx for the heat, the ice cream slowly turned to a drink...anyway the generous portion whipped cream still wasn’t able to travel through the straw... ( Sorry, no photo... )

I was so full, I gave up my walk plans and immediately returned to the condo to collapse all the rest of the day at the swimming pool.

Verdict: Obviously not fine dine item, it is what it is... For my taste still weird, but I liked it. Good value for the price: 199 baht

 

PS: The owner on the FB posted: 1. It was beef 2. The philly sandwich is sliced beef, not minced...

Looked and sounded half decent until the addition of the processed cheese slices. I love a good burger but when it has the sliced cheese in it, it gives me heartburn for a day afterwards. I find that it adds little or no flavour to a dish and effectively ruins it (for me anyway).

 

Good report Gabor, thanks for posting but I think this one is crossed off my list.

That's exactly how this sandwich is traditionally made. Kind of like your beans on toast, which I find appalling, it's a traditional thing.

Yes..the real thing. It's my favorite sandwich, and I usually have one at Tigglebitties regularly.

That's exactly how this sandwich is traditionally made. Kind of like your beans on toast, which I find appalling, it's a traditional thing.

I like a burger with cheese - real cheese is better than processed cheese though.

I think beans on toast can be OK too. Not the most delicious but a very filling snack.

I finally took the effort to find this place. When I walked in, the AC was off. I very nearly did a U turn. The staff recognized the issue and turned the AC on and directed me to the table to get maximum benefit.

 

I don't order hot dogs in a sit down restaurant and eventually settled on the Philly cheese steak. It was a smaller sandwich than I anticipated, but I am one of those for whom that is not, objectively, a bad thing. It turned out to be quite a tasty sandwich. Visually you couldn't spot any cheese but you could taste it. It comes with a few chips (crisps to some of you).

My mate had ordered eggs on toast and in the confusion I was presented with two slices of cheese on toast with a fried egg on each slice. I decided to keep it and put plenty of pepper on as usual. It was absolutely fantastic.

The first time I ever ordered scrambled eggs and toast at the Jomtien Pig & Whistle, I was a bit distressed when the plate came out with the eggs on one of the pieces of toast. That was a piece of toast I did not eat. To their credit, now, when I order eggs and toast separate, that's what I get.

Jesus "Cheese Beano" that brings back memories, haven't heard that term for donkeys years. Used to get served that sometimes on P&O General Cargo Division ships. Probably when the cooks couldn't be arsed cooking.

Add ham or bacon to the build and you have another "maritime classic" .... "The Cheesie, Hammie, Eggie Topside" ! Tastes way better than it sounds!
