Getting to WS from Sutus Court (Soi Buakhao)

Recommended Posts

I will be staying at Sutus Court (Soi Buakhao) in September. It looks like about a 20 minute walk to/from Walking Street from the hotel. This is fine when solo, but I can't imagine dragging my catch-o-the-night back for a 20 minute walk to the hotel. How does one navigate Baht buses from Walking street (or Soi 6) to Sutus Court?

My last trip was years ago and I stayed at Residence Garden. Once I left the hotel I never ventured far from Beach Rd / Second Street. (It was plenty easy to navigate using baht buses... Beach road goes one direction, Second road goes the other.) Is it just that east to get to/from Soi Buakhao from walking street or Soi 6?

Thanks in advance!!

They line up on 2nd Rd just past Tai and you can negotiate with them, they will take you any-place you want.

Or you could just jump on, pay the 10 baht each and get off at Soi Diana and walk through from there, it would be a churlish girl who thought this too strenuous. Stop at beer bar on way.

Option 3, girl with own motorbike... it happens! :D

From Soi 6 it would be more messing about. Get a 3up motorcycle taxi!

Late at night in the Walking Street area, there are usually baht busses hanging around that you can hire as a taxi. 100 baht or so and they'll take you to your destination. In other areas, just flag down an empty baht bus, if you can, and hire it as a taxi.

One time I tried Option 3. Girl with her own motorbike. Not the smartest move I ever made, but I survived.

Oh a world of problems.........

But at least you can save on the request for extra cash in the morning 'for taxi'.....

a tactic I used to employ:

If it's a first time BF, then 2 motorcycle taxis (sod the expense) to the hotel (Residence Garden), Then, if meeting the BF for a second time, tell her to get on the Baht but going to the hotel (I'd often stop outside the VC hotel and flag one down).

However, in your case it's on Bukhao so I'd either MC Taxi it or ask her to negotiate a baht bus, given that you've probably already spunked a few baht on drinks and food etc, another couple of hundred getting home really isn't going to figure much.

Getting to Walking street is a no brainer. There is a Baht bus every two minutes down Soi Buakhao.

Getting home is not that bad either, You simply jump on the bus to Mikes shopping mall and walk down Soi Dianna. There is a lane next to Mike’s with all the tattoo guys if you are coming from Beach Rd. I tell the girls I am grabbing BBQ if they arc up about a sort walk. One thing about Thai girls they hate to walk but they love their food.

South along Buakhao, turn right on to Pattaya Tai, get off by the school and walk.

Thanks for the explanation. You can also get a baht bus down Pattaya Tai which turns down Buakhao to saves the walk down Soi Dianna but I have always been too pissed to work out which bus is which. I wish they had signs but I end up heading down to 3rd road every time I try it..... I have to improve my Thai language skills.

PS this is a great place to learn more about, There are fantastic places to get food along Pattaya Tai as well as a few specialty shops.

Big "if" but if the girl is clear on the destination, she will be able to sort that out. Be prepared to pay "taxi" rate rather than 10 baht per person. Probably better for a repeat engagement.

Flag a Baht bus down on 2nd rd or wait until one of the ones that is waiting is full get off at Soi Diana ( kiss restaurant ) and walk up Soi Diana .

I think you will find it is longer than a 20 minute walk from Sutus Court to Walking St .

Going from Sutus Ct to Walking St get Baht Bus on Soi Buakhow get off at traffic lights on 2nd Rd . Depending on where you want to go you can go left at lights and then turn right down soi 15 for Baby dolls etc.

I always used the baht bus along second road and the walk up Soi Dianna when I stayed in that area. Used to see a few baht buses queued up by the temple heading east towards Buakhao but couldn't be bothered trying to find out what their exact route was late at night. The walk from second road to Buakhao never bothered me. Edited by tallguy

The important thing to note (correct me if it's been covered above) is that THE OPTIONS and ROUTES "TO" and "FROM" WALKING STREET ARE DIFFERENT.

(As above I wouldn't walk there and definitely not back)

Going is easy - coming out of Sutus Court onto Soi Buakhao stay on the same side of the road and flag down a bahtbus heading south (i.e. coming from right to left), say nothing to the driver, get in at the back, the bus will go to the southern end of Soi Buakhao and turn right onto Pattaya Tai. At the next traffic lights (crossroads Pattaya Tai and 2nd Road), ring the bell and get off and pay 10bht to the driver.

Coming back more options:

1) The "way you came" is complicated as the bahtbuses which head east on Pattaya Tai might OR MIGHT NOT turn left onto Soi Buakhao, the wait at the Soi Buakhao/Pattaya Tai junction might be long to get a SECOND bus that turns left onto Soi Buakhao.... another option here is to walk from the traffic lights, where you got off earlier, EAST on the south pavement/sidewalk past the Night Market (things known and unknown to nibble and the chance to learn from your chosen companion). Max cost 40bht for 2. (2 x 10bht p/p for 2 buses). The bus brings you to Sutus Court directly.... on the right hand side.

2) Bahtbuses queue up at the northwestern corner of the traffic lights crossroads (where you got off earlier) to go NORTH along 2nd Road - as many posters above - and leave when full.... get off at Mike's Mall (left)/Kiss Food (right) and walk down Soi Diana, turn right onto Soi Buakhao and Sutus Court is on your left. Cost 10bht each.

Two "gaggin' for it" options:

3) 2 motorbike taxis @ 60bht each

3) If you are with 2 ladies (as I often am) there are always empty bahtbuses parked at the 2nd Road end of the Walking Street soi (14) which starts with Sugar Baby and has Seeclits on it. They will take you anywhere for 200bht... and often have in the past....

Good luck
