To expand slightly, if you leave and come back on a reentry permit, you will need to do the first report in person 90 days after the reentry.  Also, if you get a new passport, the next report will need to be in person.  After that, the online link works like a charm.

When I got a new passport, I then used an agent to transfer the stamps, and then get a new extension...they did the 90 day for me at the same  time ...I never went to immigration. Subsequent 90 day reports have been fine on-line. I never needed to do any in person, after a re-entry either. It appears only consistent in its inconsistency.

Thought I heard differently on having to go in person after coming back on a reentry permit. I'll get to test that out in 90 days after my return on 12 May. I'll report back on my experience.

Never hurts to try online.

I just returned to Thailand Saturday morning and yesterday I received the online system's automatic 2 week reminder for my next 90 day report. So even though my return on Saturday reset the 90 day reporting clock I decided to see how the system would handle an early report. Took all of about 30 seconds yesterday to complete the online form and received the approved email about an hour ago. This also answers the question if you have to report in person if entering Thailand using a re-entry permit.

Yes that does not surprise me.... your entry into the Kingdom does get reflected in the system........bet you could do an online 90 day report while currently out of the country!

I did my 90 day report this week and discovered they built a new building in the parking lot on the right. There are two doors, the first has a sign for queue number, but you can just go directly to the second door at the end of the building where the 90 day report desk is.

Somebody told me the new building was for all types of extensions.... another source made it sound like Expat services, ie 90 days, marriage and retirement extensions.... know any more?

The signs indicate that, but when I went inside, all I saw was the desk to get your queue number and the desk to do 90 day reporting and lots of seating. I think for any of those services, it is the starting point to get your number.

Specifically, I didn't see any immigration officers. I think it's just a waiting room. For example, when I handed my passport over, the girl told me to come back in 20 minutes to pick it up.

There's a prominent sign reading "90 Day Reporting" outside the new building, but on entering you also see a couple of desks on the right for other visa matters. Either way, the new facility is a big improvement on the previous crush in the main building.

With the recent reports of the 90 day online reporting system not working for some, I was wondering if after many years of using the online system I would have to do my latest report in person. Happily the system worked fine for me. I submitted my report at 07:39 and the email approval just came through at 13:09. 5.5 hours from submission to approval.

I'll also mention again my experience with a new passport, exiting and re-entering Thailand, and a TM30 that hasn't been updated since I got it for my current address in 2017; the online system has worked for me every time. Never been kicked back with some mysterious error message.

I'm pretty sure that if I had tried to report in person I would have received some grief on a couple of those occasions, so best advice is avoid their office by using their online system until such time your submission is refused.

Got the email saying my 90 report is coming due so that part works.  Have a bit of a wrinkle.  Recently moved.  With the assistance of an agent did my retirement extension with the new address.  Haven't otherwise reported the new address.  Will be interesting to see if I can do the 90 day report online.  Will give myself time in case in goes tilt.

New TM30 obtained?

nkped, Immigration is now enforcing TM30 rules after years of not. Caught out cost 2,000. One of the 10 reasons an online report failed per a recent article is not submitting a TM30 . Apparently true about every 2 years even if you haven't moved. I think this is factual based on my own experience as well with a conversation with an Agent friend. I escaped the fine because my Thai wife did the talking explaining we had just built a house.  Consider submitting your TM 30 prior to 90 day report. If this is inconvenient then be prepared to submit both at the physical report if the online fails.

On a brighter note I'm back in Pattaya for drinking and debauchery on Thursday .

Another data point. I've been at the same address for 12 years, my TM 30 is from 2017, and my 90 online reports have been accepted without a problem. The most recent one was in March. I suspect if I were to do my report in person, the story would have a different outcome. My extensions to stay probably get accepted with the old TM 30 because I use an agent and because my address hasn't changed.

Now if I were to move to a new place, I'd make sure to update the TM30 within the proscribed 24 hours.

Not in hand.  Sent the 90 day report in online this morning.  Plenty of time to rectify if it is kicked back.

Well, mine came back in hours and I might have known sooner had I looked in my spam folder.

Looks like they've tightened up the online reporting system. I just received a rejection email with the message "This online application can be submitted 15 days in advance until the due date of notification" because the 90 day clock was reset on my return to Thailand on July 4th. I used to be able to do my report every 90 days, even if I had left the country during the 90 day period.

It will be interesting to see if they're going to require an in person visit for my next 90 day report because of my trip abroad last month.

Let us know on that one.

I guess you promptly did your TM30 when you got back last month?

LOL, still using the one I got in 2017. Could be I get a pass as I use Manareet for my extensions. I'll pay them the 100B fee to file the 90 day report if it turns out an in person visit is required for the next report. I've been at the same address for 12+ years, but if I ever did move I would play nice and file an updated TM30.

Based on me facing the same thing I would say yes using Manareet, as you know they are well connected at Jomtien. I saw a 2k fine coming my way in KK after a trip to the states ,looking at her screen and then at my passport repeatedly, tried to get the attention of a busy senior officer. But the Thai wife was chatting with her who seemed to say fuk it and let it go.  Next visit I'm summoned over to the senior officer, Gran Pubba Colonel something said there is no reason to go to Pattaya for extension. Send your wife for EXT. and 90 day. "You do not need to come". Tit, luck of the draw.

Just received my rejection notice for my online 90 day report.

For first-time requests of a 90-day notification in each country visit, in-person presentation at the immigration office is required.

It would be nice if they had a provision for long stayers that return to their address of record that would allow use of the online system when returning from a trip.

Since I'm now within the window of getting my extension to stay done, I'll just have Maneerat do both at the same time.

On a side note: I used Maneerat recently for a Resident Certificate which they sent to immigration with my TM30 from 2017. I was a bit worried when I saw them do that as I wondered if immigration would levy a fine for not updating the TM30 after many trips out of Thailand over the intervening years. I was pleasantly surprised to see they updated the TM30 with no fine levied. Most likely because I've been at the same address for the past 13 years, and the use of agent means they already got their "fee" from me.

Update on my extension, Grand Pubba colonel saw us out of the Queue, fee 18,000 with no rentry. I was a little disappointed but have no reason to leave Thailand.  90 days will be done with the wife. I wont bother with the online. See yea next year.

18k, that's steep. Maneerat is 12.5k with no reentry. Of course if you're living up country, you're agent options are limited and they'll charge what they think they can get.

The online 90 day report system has been greatly improved over the last couple of years. Now takes me less than a minute to do the report.

Force no question , I thought unreasonable, this isn't even an agent, an immigration ranking officer, But my wife was proud to know her so don't fuck with "Face". If I'm ever charged for a 90 day then game on I do online.

Manareet is the go to place in Pattaya.
