Tourist Sites at and around Pattaya.

Wondering if the fat (Chinese??) Buddha is there as a model for the future Thai female Buddha images. The ones of the past are all of slim stature.

This subject reminds me of a story from some years ago.

I bought a young guy who is a relative of mine to Pattaya. By day two he had settled in with a gogo dancer who was something special. They just cut themselves off from the world.

Shortly before he was due to leave for home he came to see me. He was worried that he had no photos of his trip to share with the family. So I suggested a day trip to Bangkok. Off we went to visit temples, reclining Buddhas, palaces, Chatuchak etc. Everywhere we went I photographed.

We had agreed to meet the cab at the Nana hotel and ended up in the plaza via Patpong. Less culture. More beer and ladies.

Not sure what the family though of his photographic essay but that was all the culture and sightseeing he wanted or needed.

My thoughts with this thread were to have a thread for photographs of the tourist attractions such as temples, museums and similar, which was separate from the photographs of Pattaya thread, which is more street photography related.

Whenever I post pictures of the Pattaya floating market, I get comments about the place.  I of course can not comment.  Admission is 200 baht.  I do like the paintings on display; the clothing on display is little different to what is on sale in the Pattaya local markets.  Pricing of goods is not disimilar to local markets and stalls in Pattaya.

Smile Town - A street food complex.  Pretty deserted in the early afternoon; hopefully more customers during the evening.

Not sure why you received a red for that ... so I balanced it with a green

I suspect it's probably a case of fat fingering the click that was meant to be green.

Hope so, the pictures posted are the best part of the forum.

Quite easy  to correct if noticed at the time.
