  1. Fortunate indeed... and I have good friend who could probably eat 10 day old dead rats and be fine! I get sick more easily and Indian restaurants are, to me, a high risk venue.
  2. Don't agree on the food...... you have to have some discretion where you eat. I have had food poisoning in quite a few countries and Indian restaurants seem to factor in there often, not always in India!
  3. Dirty unhygienic country.
  4. Sorry to tell you that Indian restaurants in the USA , like the Chinese ones, tend to serve an Americanised version. True Indian food should have you rolling around on the floor with stomach cramps for 24 hours!
  5. I am struggling to get my head around the idea that 'Apple Pie' is an American dish! Considering the first recipe was by Geoffrey Chaucer in 1381. And Christopher Columbus found the place in 1492. Puts a whole new meaning to the phrase 'as American as apple pie!'
  6. Or even attached to an angry ostrich!

  9. Does it do Scottish or Geordie accents?

  12. Yeah that is what my True SIM is for. I get a shit load of push/advert type messages though from them! I did notice it had stopped after the phone was turned off for an extended period, but resumed soon after I got back. Perhaps I should use a different phone, keeping it turned off until I make international calls, rather than my current 2-SIM model.
  13. The sky isn't 'clear' most of the year though as you would expect with the high humidity. You can get the starry nights November-January when nights are cooler. Not so much smog though....just dust and fumes!
  14. I think the TGF is well tired of hearing my grumble about traffic lights that keep me waiting, but are green for an empty other minor junction. The lights are all timer based ( rather than having some under road detection) and of course no synchronisation between them. Also they are green mostly for everyone, those going right, left or straight on rather than giving some longer period for the main road straight through traffic. Thanks for the heads up here... fortunately I rarely need to go this way and use Sukhumvit-Threpasit when heading to and from Jomtiem. Sometimes things seem to work better without the traffic lights, just letting everyone go at it. Could be worse...... it gets really bad when a policeman takes over!
  15. Have to,remember that........ Serve shite food. Have abusive unfriendly staff who abuse the customers. But serve it all cheap cheap cheap! Says more about the clientèle.
  16. Training Day.
  17. Well I have also been in the UK for slightly over 3 weeks.......but of course the pool pump still needs to run and it seems the TGF still requires AC.....and there is a stream of visiting relatives who wouldn't dream of using an AC in their own homes but do at mine!!!! And the damned TV is never off with her mother here getting in the way on the floor!

  19. If the guy isn't interested, and only picking holes, sure, you have a right to get uppity. But if a potential buyer asks why the business is up for sale, that sure would be regarded information I wanted to know. In fact most non personal questions would be valid....
  20. Thx for answering. It is a couple of years now since I went straight to the taxi line, once had to queue to get the chit and was uncomfortable in the heat for 10 minutes or so.
  21. I enjoyed your tongue-extended review. . For economy on farang food perhaps the Seaside around the corner or on Chayapoon... I would be interested for you to review that place. And was the waitress at the Sailor ex-Crazy Dave's?
  22. When in the UK I tried the Morrison's ones (cheaper) but ended up back on the Warburton's ones myself. Quite partial to spreading hommus on them for breakfast...... Pate was better but not very healthy!
  23. Cheap, just paid mine, B2300, less than normal, likely the cooler weather here. Paid at 7-11 cos it is easier. I know Bangkok Bank has some facilities for paying utility bills using Internet Banking, but it appears to be just for Bangkok.
  24. A fair point, of course I came through customs around door number 10 and had to hike back to #3. Fortunately the guy was kind enough to take over the luggage cart from me. How long do you normally have to queue or wait at the regular taxi stand?
