  1. Pattaya is no longer the dirt cheap bargain it once was. It is still an incredible place to play, overall infrastructure good. Hotels remain the best bargain of mongering areas. For those of us in the US, Central and South America make a lot of sense. Greatly reduced travel times. Minimal time change. Medellin, Columbia is the hot place right now. In the mountains, does not get too hot, minimal humidity. $30-40 will get you a very attractive babe. $70 gets an absolute stunner!
  2. We have been watching Fauda, an Israeli drama on Netflix. Simple, fast moving. Enjoyable. https://www.netflix.com/title/80113612
  3. Truly, it is superb. My wife cried when she found out it was cancelled. Tough broad, does not cry often.
  4. And I would like to thank you Mr. Fiend for assisting Hyku. I am enjoying his new signature immensely.
  5. Now I am not sure who is smarter. Newton or Bushcraft...?
  6. Finally, Newton can explain our admiration for titties!
  7. I have always insisted on a pristine credit report before I will rent to anyone. Have never had a problem.
  8. Brilliant A2!
  9. For a least a couple years during high school my little brother and I would go to sleep each night listening to side two. It simply does not get any better!

  10. Perhaps we have spammed his thread....
  11. For some reason Spam is favored by many locals in Hawaii. There are probably 30,000 ways of preparing it there! Other than that I love Hawaii.
  12. There was a non-stop LAX-BKK until a few years ago. I believe it had a 4-5 run before being discontinued. It was awesome for those of us traveling from Southern California. I cannot remember what aircraft is was.
  13. I have heard similar from 3 other people.
  14. Last night we watched the first three episodes of a new Netflix Original Series, Collateral. Modern day detective story set in London (I think). Bloody good so far. A womanizing but nice guy MP, police, MI5, special ops military all involved in a convoluted plot still not clear.....
  15. Classic. I am stealing it!
  16. I suspect most folks who fall into the dangling participle trap lack all knowledge of the term. As for those of us in the know, please accept a gift to distract you for a few minutes from the problems of the world... A dangling participle walks into a bar. Enjoying a cocktail and chatting with the bartender, the evening passes pleasantly. A bar was walked into by the passive voice. An oxymoron walked into a bar, and the silence was deafening. Two quotation marks walk into a "bar." A malapropism walks into a bar, looking for all intensive purposes like a wolf in cheap clothing, muttering epitaphs and casting dispersions on his magnificent other, who takes him for granite. Hyperbole totally rips into this insane bar and absolutely destroys everything. A question mark walks into a bar? A non sequitur walks into a bar. In a strong wind, even turkeys can fly. Papyrus and Comic Sans walk into a war. The bartender says, "Get out -- we don't serve your type." A mixed metaphor walks into a bar, seeing the handwriting on the wall but hoping to nip it in the bud. A comma splice walks into a bar, it has a drink and then leaves. Three intransitive verbs walk into a bar. They sit. They converse. They depart. A synonym strolls into a tavern. At the end of the day, a cliche walks into a bar -- fresh as a daisy, cute as a button, and sharp as a tack. A run-on sentence walks into a bar it starts flirting. With a cute little sentence fragment. Falling slowly, softly falling, the chiasmus collapses to the bar floor. A figure of speech literally walks into a bar and ends up getting figuratively hammered. An allusion walks into a bar, despite the fact that alcohol is its Achilles heel. The subjunctive would have walked into a bar, had it only known. A misplaced modifier walks into a bar owned a man with a glass eye named Ralph. The past, present, and future walked into a bar. It was tense. A dyslexic walks into a bra. A verb walks into a bar, sees a beautiful noun, and suggests they conjugate. The noun declines. An Oxford comma walks into a bar, where it spends the evening watching the television getting drunk and smoking cigars. A simile walks into a bar, as parched as a desert. A gerund and an infinitive walk into a bar, drinking to forget. A hyphenated word and a non-hyphenated word walk into a bar and the bartender nearly chokes on the irony.
  17. Phil, I had a couple glasses of your Shiraz at the crawl. Very nice. Definitely better than the Mont Claire around town. Thank you again for hosting the pre crawl party. You have a nice little place there. Some cute girls too!
  18. LITTLE JOHNNY IS BACK: The teacher asked the class to use the word “fascinate” in a sentence. Molly put up her hand and said, “My family went to my granddad's farm, and we all saw his pet sheep. It was fascinating." The teacher said, “That was good, but I wanted you to use the word ‘fascinate,’ not 'fascinating'.” Sally raised her hand. She said, “My family went to see Rock City and I was fascinated.” The teacher said, “Well, that was good Sally, but I wanted you to use the word ‘fascinate’.” Little Johnny raised his hand, but the teacher hesitated because she had been burned by Little Johnny before. She finally decided there was no way he could damage the word “fascinate,” so she called on him. Johnny said, “My aunt Carolyn has a sweater with ten buttons, but her tits are so big she can only fasten eight!” The teacher sat down and cried.
  19. JS, might make sense to rent for a few months in each location to decide which you like best before purchase.
  20. I remember my parents drinking Blue Nun. It was very popular in the States for a while. Remember Boone's Farm also. I remember my parents drinking Blue Nun. It was very popular in the States for a while. Remember Boone's Farm also.
  21. I am not much of a beer drinker at home. Mainly red wine. Primarily drink beer in LOS. Buying red wine here in Thailand is hit & miss in most restaurants. Pricey, sometimes old or improperly stored. Have had a few red wines at Pete's Beer Garden this trip that have been drinkable, decent pours. Had some at the Golf Club the other evening. Very generous pour! The Avenue Mall used to have a decent wine store, now closed. The Villa Market has has some promotion specials, screwtop, Aussie or S Africa in the 200-300 baht range. Not too bad. TQ has some low quality red chilled.
