I was very impressed with my stay at the metro apartments on soi Lk metro in Nov. No hesitation in recommending this place!

They are cheap but their customer service sucks!

For hotels in Phuket I recommend in order summer breeze hotel orchid residence lamai hotel All can be found through google and are girl friendly and not expensive. If a travel agent puts you into a tourist hotel, any female company will incur large joiners fees. And Dr. Mick is right with his travel agent choice on LK.

Its upstairs from Catz and Boesche. When I had a look last year, there was some ok looking girls but the drink scamming mentality .. 'you buy dlink for me and my friend?' after being in there for 90 seconds left me cold. I was scowled at for only buying a soft drink then the waitress hit me up for a drink too! Check bin!!!

Had a look at the aspire ones a few weeks ago in Pantip plaza in BKK. There are lots of options .. linux or windows xp. 1.4ghtz or 1.6. SD memory or up to 160gb hard-drive. same story with ram. Prices ranged from 8,000 bt up to 17,000, Am interested in getting one as my travelling notebook.

Generally, the more upmarket a hotel/resort is in Phuket, the more likely to charge a high joiner fee. Was chatting with an English guy last night who is staying at the Royal Paradise Hotel. They want a joiner fee of 1,000 bt per night. He cant move hotels because he paid upfront before he got here. Big mistake. Am in Patong at the moment. If mongering is your ambition here, I would NOT stay at a top end hotel. They are family orienated and dont want bar girls trotting through reception. Try either the summer breeze hotel or the orchid residence. Both guest friendly and nice rooms. No swimming pools though. A good beach is a 5 minute walk away. Patong Beach hotel or holiday inn are better options than Marriot.

I Have just booked Mr T for a trip from Poomi to Pats next week. He replied to me in a prompt manner. I'll post on how it goes. I get in at 10pm so Bell Bus is out of the equation. I will use them for the return trip though.

I am using Discovery airpasses again next month. yes they do have to be purchased out of Thailand but if you have a foreign passport and credit card and book it over the net, booking shouldnt be a problem. I booked Discovery passes for my ex TGF and she lives in Phuket and it wasnt an issue. Bkk Air have the Bkk to Siem Reap route locked up at the moment. I read somewhere that other airlines want to get in. Air asia run some great specials. Always when i am out of the country. A trip to PP at that price is definately worth while. You can then take a bus or boat trip up to Siem Re

Thanks for the good info. My next trip to LOS is in 11 days but this will be the first time I will go straight to Pats. Flight gets in at 10pm so it looks like Mr. T for me. Back to airport will be via Bell Bus though.

A trip to Laos or Cambo will give you an additional 30 days from when you return to Thailand. Not the cheapest but probably your best option.

For me GoGos are ususally a place to build up my appetite. I end up going some place else to eat.

Lesson learned I hope. Dont fuck around with international flights. Better to spend 20 minutes picking your nose because you are early, than spend 20 weeks being resentful that you didnt make your flight!
