  1. He said originality £565 down to £538 Presume it was £540 and they knocked a couple of quid off, personally I agree with thegrogmonster I would have told them as it was only a couple of quid I will use the other company.

  6. The BBC blocks some of its content to none UK IP Addresses.
  7. Latest news from my stockbroker: Easy Jet & Nok Air are to merge New Airline to be called Easy Nok International "Easy Noki" for short with Blond Essex FA's I presume
  8. I think after an accident like that I would be calling somebody for help, almost certainly in shock herself and probably unaware of the fate of the those traveling in the mini van, I am assuming this photo will have been taken many minutes after the accident as I presume the news photographer was not waiting at the scene for an accident to happen. I went up to my G/F village in Surin a few weeks ago and was shocked to see 3 people riding a bike without crash helmets that did not surprise me but what did was the eldest was no older than 10. I feel that children are the victims when it is expected of them to break the law by their elders, nobody stops them and that young lady will have to live with the consequences of her actions for the rest of her life.
  9. Sorry to hear about Ricky Ponting Personally I think he should be honored in the Queens New Years Honors for services to English cricket.
  10. England beat Australia by an innings and 157 runs If this had been a boxing match the promoter would probably be charged with homicide. It is nice to think there is a sport we can exceed at at times.
  11. Fourth Ashes Test: Australia 98 v England 157-0 (stumps, day one) I presume those "convicts" who paid a lot of money to see the match want their money back
  12. If you have not got an old one kicking around the back of a cupboard ask your friends, Nokia is the best as it is the make that everybody knows how to use without a manual. SIM card are "two a penny" even 7-11 sell them, best do your home work on what you want (cheep local calls, cheap international calls, able to retain number for next visit, cheap texts, best coverage for area visiting.) then buy the card that is best for your needs. Yes, if you give to some of the more expensive girls they will look down their noses at you, but a sweet farm fresh TGF will appreciate it even if it not as good as theirs they will give it to their mother or other family members.
  13. Done just after cabin doors are closed as it is more affective than when the plane has landed, seems the rules do frequently change, never recall it happening exiting Dubai which surprises me, more to do with the A/C than pax as you do not know where the A/C last destination was unless they debug them during cleaning.
  14. Birmingham closed most of yesterday. 6" of snow, now it is freezing today's high -4C now the mercury is falling fast. Things are bad at the airport, ground movements are slow with planes waiting up to an hour to get on stand, Emirates EK040 just departed over 3 hours late, not as bad as yesterday's EK040 that departed 25 hours late.
  15. There was much horse trading as to support for the World Cup, England by far had the best technical bid, we had the promise of support but out of 6 promised votes we got 1, why should the English FA underwrite a costly "friendly" match that has no beneficial value with a nation that stabbed us in the back? The voting only emphasises the corruption in FIFA.
  16. Not really the best of marketing ideas, "I was shafted by Kasikorn" Edit in: Before anybody else says it "Another Cock-Up"
  17. For persons claiming JSA (Job Seekers Allowance), this is unemployment pay to persons who must be looking and be available for work (just ask "Chivas"), and DWP (Department of Work and Pensions) do all sorts of checks to catch people claiming JSA and other benefits which they are not entailed to if they work or go abroad. Do not know where someone stands if they have to go abroad for a job interview? A person claiming JSA can travel abroad for a holiday but must first sign off and reapply on their return. Suppose it could be interesting to catch someone going on a skiing holiday who is long-term unemployed claiming disability allowance for bad back. There are some rules regarding state pension as well for persons permanently abroad, I think it gets frozen meaning it will not increase annually in line with cost of living.
  18. Re: UK Quote from the DEFRA web site: "The Pet Travel Scheme (PETS) is the system that allows pet dogs, cats and ferrets from certain countries to enter the UK without quarantine as long as they meet the rules. It also means that people in the UK can take their dogs, cats and ferrets to other European Union (EU) countries, and return with them to the UK. They can also, having taken their dogs, cats and ferrets to certain non-EU countries, bring them back to the UK without the need for quarantine. The rules are to keep the UK free from rabies and certain other diseases." Thailand is not on the list of countries allowed on this scheme and bringing you pets back to the UK from Thailand will mean the customary 6 moths quarantine. DEFRA PETS website For list of: European Union (EU) countries and territories see: http://www.defra.gov.uk/wildlife-pets/pets...o/countries.htm Non-European Union listed countries and territories see: http://www.defra.gov.uk/wildlife-pets/pets...-info/other.htm Different rules may apply for the rest of Europe, would advise checking the rules before paying for any services.
  19. A parking fine is the least of your trouble, the onus is on you to inform DLVA of new owner details or if you have disposed of the vehicle, when dose the tax run out? if the new owner fails to tax the vehicle or notify DLVA that it is off the road or been scrapped you will find yourself responsible for paying the tax as well. Maybe the following will be of use: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Buyin...icle/DG_4022311 Suspect the arrest warning letter is warning you that if you do not pay the fine an arrest warrant will be issued for your arrest, I suspect that issuing of boarding passes is linked to the UKBA data base which intern may hold names of persons with open arrest warrants, etc.
  20. I have always looked at the second Road as being an asset when completed, I too have a condo in S2 and look forward to the much needed paint job, the site is well managed and if someone can think of something a little different to the restaurants, bars, hairdressers, Real Estate, Supermarkets, and other businesses on site it could be a gold mine, on the beach side of the complex S1 & 2 buildings there are over 1500 condos and over the road nearly 2000 with about 20-30% occupancy normal weekdays and lot more the weekends High season I think it reaches well over 80% holiday weekends. probable the worst thing anyone could invest in right now is the so called supermarket unless they can compete with "Mini Mart" who are opening at the entrance and renting pedal bikes as there are lots of green free to use bikes on site, (well possibly renting decent bikes for those who want to travel further than the entrances gates might be a hit).
  21. I think the photograph of the second report clearly shows some one who is grossly undernourished in a statement HM posted on TV which I post in entirety and unedited: Unfortunately I am not able to get too involved in this thread but I would like to say that the initial story has errors, one of which is the length of time he was at Pattaya Police Station for. The original piece states "He is reported to have been there for three months...." He was incarcarated for just under two weeks during which time I visited 4 times, providing food, water and clothes and he was in the condition shown in the photo's when he arrived there. I like Drummond's current blog entry, "A conspiracy of silence - a comment" which I am sure he issued out of sheer frustration that the story did not earn him any money. Is he trying to pressure me, the Embassy or the Foreign Office into speaking out on the case and revealing what actually happened? There are more errors in the first two blog entries on this case but they are not worth highlighting. I will no be able to post any more here. Howard I realise that this was probably a person with unsociable attitude, refuses offers of help and probably brought it on himself with substance abuse but obviously other people when informed of this gentleman's demise got him the help he needed in hours...
  22. The post has been locked on TV, (Surprise, Surprise considering Howard's commercial interest hook with TV). Before his appointment he he had criticised and was a target for ridicule regarding his activities as a Tourist Police Volunteer and although I had an open mind on to the validity of the posts and wondered if it was a faction of "Police/Authority Haters" just knocking him for doing something positive. Non the less Howard has been a controversial person for a few years now and was very surprised to see him appointed as the British Honorary Consul for Pattaya and really wonder if he was the best candidate for the job? And least we not forget the lead article of "Pataya One News" first issue that was and certainly was intended to be alarmist (and even managed to make make a monkey out of few people at TV as well).
  23. Even the Snowmen and Snow-women would be at it...
