According to wikipedia, Thailand has Bell 412 and Boeing 737 aircraft for VIP transport. The 412 seats 13 and cruises at 140 mph at a ceiling of 20,000 ft.

Took a taxi from BKK/Soi 22 to the Holiday in in Cha Am. Took the minibus back to Victory Monument. Why would the royals use the road? I would think that would be way too high risk. I would expect them to use military aircraft.

Personal experience three years ago.

The road is in rough condition. Wear a seat belt so that you don't bounce your head off the roof.

Can you beat this? I and and an Indian split the cost of an airport limousine because neither of us wanted to deal with the unreliability of the taxi stand taxis at Soonwanaboomboom airport. 400 baht was added to the 1200 baht base cost to have us delivered at different locations. Dropped the Indian off at soi 15 (Sukonit) then I was dropped off at soi 4/6. The Indian provided a tip without me suggesting it.

If you are arriving at an airport, having someone fuck with you or your gear is not acceptable.

I have to admit that beats my anesthesia story.

I've been driven several times by drivers from personal contacts and the experience has always been much better than an official taxi. But I have to ask about the insurance situation.

I stand corrected, too much noise coming from across the street.

Looks like I've fallen down on the job this year and didn't get to enough locations to declare a winner. Carl's Junior was the best, but its not fair to compete mom and pop restaurants against a chain. Sizzler in the mall served Iced Tea by the carafe which was nice, but it had that lemon taste as though it had come from a can. Someone needs to ask them for iced tea without sugar or lemon and see what happens. Longhorn on soi Lengkee didn't serve iced tea because the owners told me that they didn't know that iced tea was fundamental to American dining. The owner's are Bri

Based on the above information, I made the mistake of comparing Bangkok apples to Pattaya oranges. Is there anything in Thailand that is deterministic?
-
Good question Chang_paarp. Unlike the other English speaking countries, iced tea is a fundamental element of American meals. In the south, it is heavily sweetened. In the north, no sugar is added, and in the west, it might be mixed evenly with lemon (not lime which Thais call lemon). There is no alcohol in iced tea. It is served in large quantities in glasses that hold as much as a quart and without all the extra stuff that is in Thai tea. Most houses keep a pitcher of it already made at all times in the fridge. It is very simple to make, but you can also buy it at the grocery

Update: Discovered by accident that Carls Jr (aka Hardees) uses standard commercial equipment to provide endless tea. They provide dissolved sugar water also. So right now Carl's Jr leads the fast food chain category.

As part of a test I successfully exchanged US dollars to Thai baht at one of the many soi boycow exchange booths using a passport card as an ID instead of a regular passport. It has worked for scooter rental also. The passport card issued by the US federal government has all the technical features necessary to meet international standards as a national ID card however it will never be issued as such because of the current consensus that it is the government's problem to prove that a person is not a citizen rather the person's problem to prove that they are.

Tom Shane injured in bizarre accident in Bangkok hotel

I don't remember posting this but obviously I did which probably explains why I failed to cite the source. My apology to wherever I got this. -
Was told by a Pattaya bar manager that the currency exchange booths in Thailand will no longer accept Rubles due to its volatility. Another bar manager, Da, ejected a Russian that was harassing the staff. Apparently the Russian decided that since he didn't have any money, he would forcefully take what he wanted.

Welcome back to the annual Iced Tea Competition. This will be its third year. The host this year will again be myself (Short). Judges seats are available. The last two years we saw a small restaurant in Jomtien with their bottomless Iced Tea win the competiton. Now is the time to submit a place you would like included in the competition. In the early competition stages this month, a new leader has emerged already. I visited a Resort near Krabi and I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did the hotel restaurant understand and get the order right the first time, too insur

Billions, make a deal with you. Take out the fat mamasan and post them on "photo.net" in high res for large prints and I will buy some to put on my wall. I've been looking for this kind of artwork to decorate my den. Send me a PM to let me know once done. -
Should this go in the Airlines or Funnies section?

The bed coverings have to go.
