  1. Better than the usual Indian wailing that nearly all Indian restaurants play. Unless it is Rap.
  2. It doesn't normally come with a fried egg, was this an extra request?
  3. No trees were harmed, it was built where the old one was.
  4. Biggest loss there is that Fuji has gone, one of my favourite places to eat when grocery shopping. Looks like food courts have a lot more choice though and a few restaurants opening later including a steak place in Feb. The new multi storey car park will help business there for sure. Walked down to the Bay shopping center on Beach road afterwards, Only MacDonalds and Starbucks open. Looks like a repeat of the Avenue problems.
  5. Phil has moved back to the UK and probably doesn't supply the boxes anymore here. There is shop in Tukcom that stocks Minix boxes if you need one. A-mego is it's name. They sell loaded neo U1 for 6000 baht. Not tried their box so can say how good the software they put on the box is. There is a guy on PA that sells the same box for 6200 Footymadstreams, have seen his box and it is nothing special just a basic kodi build but he will deliver in pattaya for that price. If Phil still did the boxes then i would still buy from him because of his set up and support.
  6. It is supposed to be used for paying governmental Bills etc and maybe utilities etc right now. They have promised to allow person to person transfers but it has been delayed for further testing until next year. Big advantage is the cost of person to person transfers as they have promised that it will only cost about 5 baht per transaction. Only need to know a persons phone number to transfer money and not their account numbers so may be safer than giving out your Bank account no and details. Haven't tried it yet so don't know how easy it will be to use. Good luck with the spamming, I signed up
  7. Or you could just use a paper clip or pin
  8. Off topic a little. Can any Canadians confirm whether or not ACH transfers are available for Canadian banks and if so which ones.
  9. Yes i thought it was three years for all three planned underpasses. That means nine years of chaos or if martin is right then 18 years of chaos. Fucking glad i don't live on the darkside.
  10. If the other channels are ok the the problem lies with the bandwidth of the server that Ilikehd is stealing the station from. Lots of problems reported about CTH this week.
  11. A useful shortcut for anyone heading to Sukhumvit on Klang. You can bypass the tailback by turning left just before the junction. Follow the Index Living Mall sign and you can drive around the building and exit onto Sukhumvit.
  12. You always could I think. Last time i renewed i queried one of the fees and was told that is fine for not renewing before the old one expired, TIT
  13. Anything taken out of your 401K is taxable. If you are not 59 1/2 by end of the year you will also pay a 10% penalty. You can set up a SEPP plan but it has to last for 5 years or the 10% penalty will apply.
  14. Delivery on Lazarda was different for each TV, I checked several out and all were minimum 2-3 days or up to a week. Main TV was busted so preferred to go to store. Can't beat seeing the TV working before buying. Too much hassle involved in shipping it back if not happy. I looked at all of the store prices online before going to Tesco Lotus. They were the best of the store prices on this particular model.
  15. Just bought a 48 inch Samsung non smart TV. Latest Model UA48H5003TKXXT from Tesco Lotus on Sukhumvit. 19990 Baht incl VAT. This model is digital TV ready so gets all of the new digital channels without the box. It worked perfectly on TMN for me. Has a USB port that will play almost any format video on a stick or portable hard drive. I know I sound like a salesman but was very pleased with what I bought.
  16. There are plenty of 50M2 condos in Center Condo, for 8 months should get for 15000-20000 easily. will have to pay for Utilities extra but should be within your budget.
  17. I have installed the same as jacko. Better to run it constantly through the tank and always use the pump, keeps the water clean and better pressure for showers. Bypass is needed in case of power outages can still have water available. I do not trust the check valves that they install here so have a manual valve instead that can be used when the power fails. Other addition I can highly recommend is an filter.
  18. I have the same logic as Gabor why buy beer at 80 baht in Go-go bars when the cost of ingredients is surely less than 10 baht and you could brew it at home. Some people know the cost of everything but the value of nothing. Run don't walk to POR and get a real american sandwich. If I go to the cheapest place i can find in Pittsburgh and order a Reuben it will still be more than POR and not as big unless you get fries with it.
  19. Did you read the OP this place does everything that a Jewish deli would do or do you mean in USA?
  20. Should be no problem for the residence certificate but i think the medical certificate has to be less than a week old. For 100 baht cost you would be best to get get a new one to save a wasted trip.
  21. I did my 90 report in person this week. They told me that cannot use online reporting yet. Interesting part was that they did not want any copies of anything, just the form and a quick peek at the passport, they then print out the next reporting date to staple in your passport. Very fast in and out in two minutes.
  22. I have it working on my laptop using xbmc and can access it through the website too. Need to use email address as user name and password in settings in Xbmc but no hacks required.
  23. Martin if you want regular US tv channels sign up for https://www.ustvnow.com/ standard definition is free for regular channels. However it was greatly overloaded by the super bowl traffic and was not worth watching in thailand. Once you sign up ustvnow should be one of the video add-ins in XBMC so all you need to do is to enter your email and password and you can watch it on your box.
