  1. In "Funnies Section" forum ???
  2. No, I am in Center Condo, but still a good sea view. A picture I posted some times ago :
  3. Please Gabor & Parkwahn, stop this war ! Gabor may be wrong on the UNSOLD part (or 51% wrong?) but it seems to me he is right on the (mainly) EMPTY part. I can believe Parkwahn when he says that the foreign quota is sold in in VT5, but how much of this quota is from investors who just expected a quick re-sell who does not come? The bigger part for sure. Big balcony is not necessary a good thing when you can not use it during the day because it's too hot... And don't forget the balcony surface is included in the chanote surface at a 100% ratio, meaning it's an expensive "lost" surface for your inside-appartment.
  4. If you really think about safety you should only stay in a ground, 1st or 2nd floor, so that you can jump by the window. I don't really see the difference between being floor 5 or floor 15 when there is a strong fire in a floor below? PS: I choosed floor 15: the view is far better :)
  5. As far as I know the developer of the project has to pay for the maintenance charges of each appartments until they are sold. So occupancy (or rather selling ratio) should not change anything to the money available to manage the whole condo. People who buy early without consulting the City Hall before. The Central Beach Festival was not build yet, and surely a lot of "investors" have had a bad surprise. In fact all those who bought North side up to floor 16 (about?) had a bad surprise : no more view + noise from the big mall... VT6 may have big balconies, South side seeing the sea, but you cannot use them during the day because they receive full sun and it's like a oven ! Many appartments put a vertical curtain during the day, blocking the sun... and the view.
  6. Hi Scott. I was on my way to Spankys last night when a HelloGirl of HeavenAbove intercept me and tell me that happy-hours is not yet finished here. Several weeks already that I visited, so I decided to save 50 baht and check HA agogo... BTW maybe not a so good idea. The lineup at HA was very poor yesterday; only 5 show-girls during show, and certainly not the prettiest ones...
  7. Seriously? This hotel/condo is just between 2 beer bars complexes : Action Street & Rathree something. It should be good if you have no intention to sleep during the night though...
  8. Why not read this forum before asking? http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/topic/58812-interesting-story-in-todays-pattaya-peoples-weekly/
  9. I read that several times on forums but it never happened to me. Yet again this Saturday with election, a agogo friend came see me: no BF I think that's more something you could find in (very) small bars... but can't even give the name of one place that would do that... ??
  10. Hi, I don't know anything about tatoos, but just a warning: I saw some girls with really horrific marks after removing a tatoo. Don't know what happened and where they made it remove, but better to think twice about it and to ask for a really good place to remove it...
  11. My personal advice Gabor: Stop talking about score & vote; Stop using words like "conspiracy" or "secretxxx" and I bet that your reputation score will stop its high/low/high/low...
  12. Hi, I checked my way on Google Earth It's about 24 km long (15 miles) and it took me 5 hours (6-11am) to do it, walking at my rythm. Here is the map : --
  13. 2nd part: Return home (Pattaya Tai) from The Village Chai Yaphruek (spell?) Crossing with new "2nd Road Jomtien". Still not really completed VT8: Access a lot of more easy now :) Pattaya Water Park Tower in the back. Good direction: A huge nice selling office: 1 hugly big condo: 3 hugly big condos: New condos... 3 hugly big VT condos: Soi 5, aka Soi Immigration: Some nice new ending projects along the beach: Sometime I think I should learn Russian, not Thai... Pattaya Water Park Nice beaches, but so dirty. Plastic everywhere Many trees, shadow, "fresh" air. I like this area: Here is the end of the easy walking path way. From now it's not really difficult but it's block's walking or jumping. No climbing but not for every one, and you need good no-sliding shoes. This tree didn't choose the easiest place to grow ! Better to walk here when tide is low. Walk carefully: Pattaya Yacht club: Every thing in Russian, and most tourists here look Russian... Yes, better at low tide, but easy to walk on the wall: Here use to be the most difficult passage, but "they" throw big blocks in the hole and now easy :) LightHouse and Spinnaker restaurant: Walking on the wall again New lighthouse project. Look nice and "on" the beach: Big working continue for the port project: A familiar name... Closed. Will come back an evening... Home! That's all folks :)
  14. Today I took my camera for my morning walk. No bar; no agogo; no sexy ladies; just random pictures from where I walked. Monks looking for food alnong Pattaya Tai: Who said that traffic was always terrible on Pattaya Tai: Still big works at day-night hotel: Soi 17: Normal way to Thepprasit is turning right. I went straight ahead: For those who look for Land Office (when buying condo or house): And yet another "gentlemans club". Have to come back late afternoon... Do you know what is this kind of crane in the back? Answer further: Cheap Charly condo Cheap Charly condo Deluxe Arriving Thepprasit: Normal arrival from Soi 17 on the right: There are 4 kart circuits here, 2 on ground (cross) and 2 on bitumen (speed). Too early here but in the afternoon you can see carts outside. Many people some evening or week-end. Pro-karts really go very fast ! Here is Pattaya Bungy Jump for those who like hear thai girl screaming On the right is a PaintBall place with a now way bigger war-area in the back. (blue nets not always easy to see on pictures). Biginner's circuit: Soon to become hamburgers: Forget name of this condo in the back; 2 stories for each appartment; but still not finish... Frog fishing :) I was told it's not authorised to pump water from these big pounds... maybe he does know... Huge works on roads. Prevision of big new condos? A place I came once and really enjoyed. You have your own small house over water with you karaoke machine, a small table, nates for the floor and curtains if you want some privicy. Girls really liked there (but drank to much to appreciate it...) chang & chang Something make me turn left: Gentleman club again. For evenings again... Looks like a golf practice I don't know in the back. Not far Macro I think: Not all house are 10 Mo baht house in this area Very quiet; good Here I was: Sukhumvit 62: Footbridge over Sukhumvit for several schools access: LKanyong: Similar to HomePro or HomeWork, but often cheaper, and you can negociate price at the desk oposite cashier desk Cable Water Skiing park: What do you want to see today? Do you know what this kind of racket is? Answer at the end. I do like this place, but too early and only people cleanning or giving water to the many flowers. Just avoid to come here week-end afternoons... Ok. Far enough for today. I cross to come back: This is the entrance to DinoPark: and this is the one who observed me while I took pictures Don't know which project. But grow well since my last visit. Wasn't monorail project cancel? Jomtien main post office. Can help. The Village; a nice place but failling shoping place I really like walk in this garden. And they take great care of it. Good. * the "crane" was Pattaya Bungy Jump (Elastic jum) * the "racket" is the tool used to collect/pick mangos on trees To Be Continue...
  15. Hi Dungheap, You could be right. I remember I begin to organize a trip in Japan in early 1990. At this time there was no Internet. Getting information about hotels and transportation timetable was a challenge. I had to go through Tourist Companies to get information and prices. Hotels and tourists attraction were expensive then. Hotels in Tokyo or Osaka were really at crazy price for what looks like rather basic small room... I abandoned this project. I admit I have absolutely no idea of prices in Japan today. Maybe I could look at it now again, 20 years latter... With Internet and the many trip/tourists forums it could be a lot easier to get good information. :)
  16. Yes, it may be. According to Google Earth it's 3.4 km long; would make 40 km/h speed. Seems difficult to keep this average speed in Soi 16, but 5 mn is a good estimation Not a so good estimation for the beach' distance. Even by air you will have about 300m to a beach, not 100m . By foot I am not sure of the access/distance; so many private places... Beautiful view on a garden though.
  17. Thanks Dungheap for these pictures. Beautiful. I always liked this "Japanese traditionnal way of life", but most places I looked at were way out of price for me. In fact the whole Japan seems out of price for me...
  18. For tailors and similar annoying people I just you my "ignore mode" I just do as if they were not here. I don't hear them; I don't see them and more don't look at them, just look strait in front of me. That does not stop some of them to try again to stop me but without any reaction from me they understand quickly they have nothing to expect, and I don't lost energy to talk to them. I tried in the past Baht's method, but some of them seem to have no or bad memory...
  19. On this point Baht you clearly have a biased definition of "high end PC". For me today a "high end PC" should use at least a processor Intel core i7 and this processor alone cost more than 200 £...
  20. Damn, you will destroy the work of those who try to prouve that there is nothing like a nice beach at Pattaya But surely they will reply with arguments like Naklua Beach is not in Pattaya, neither is Cosy Beach...
  21. I confirm that cutbacks are everywhere French police had to change their BMW 1100 and Susuki 1200 for that :
  22. Hi, The ResidenceGarden ads seems to be configured to be always on top of everything in a window. Result can be something like on this picture. Very uneasy to login in this case Solution: reload the page to get another ads or: change your window size to get the sign-in form lower in the page.
  23. Most souvenir shops on Mike Shopping 4th floor are now closed. They are transforming this place in yet another IT-area. A few remaining souvenirs on the 2nd Road side of 4th floor. The place shown by jhrawy is a good place, but big and hot and not only for souvenirs. A kind of big bazaar with small prices. There is a rather recent big place on the same street when arriving at Pattaya North Rd. It's Russians aimed, with price sometimes higher, but really everything you want as a souvenir. They have air-cond too
  24. maps.google.com Isn't it easier to understand with a picture?
  25. I would certainly not not put these ladies in the "Non-P4P Thai Girls" category Welcome to 1972. I was the lucky guy eating at noon with a friendly cashier of Lotus Sukhumvit and 4 of her colleagues. They were about 20 yo and new workers in Pattaya (a few weeks or months) and none of these 4 ladies was able to speak a basic sentence in English... Just "Hello Sir/Madmam" & "Thank you". So ok, you have many girls in 2012 who can speak basic English or more, mainly in Bangkok or around big cities, but a big proportion of young ladies arriving Pattaya from Isaan or "Nowhere" still can't speak English today. You will find many of them East of 3rd Rd.
