    3BB performance

Hi MM, I use 3BB too I had not-too-good connection Monday and Tuesday morning but right now it's nearly correct : (from Center Condo) PS: Don't know why speedtest think I am in Phuket ??
  3. Don't understand what you mean. You MUST wait you first temporary license to expire to renew it and get a 5-years one. Not clear. To "renew" a Temporary to a Permanent license you only need your old Temporary license; no need of your home license or your International Permit. What kind of license did you friend get exactly? Yes, we all know that, but the OP was clearly in the case of a new Temporary license because of no non-Imm visa. The OP is about a new Temporary license after a first Temporary one ...
  4. I use Avast, free version, for 3 or 4 years now and no problem : http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download I used to use AVG but change after their release 7 (I think?) who become so big and so slow that it was unusable on my computer. AVG has blocked tens of thousands of PC recently - and already last years - by removing valid system files of Windows ! I would not trust them anymore.
  5. Hi, A representative of the City Hall explained on TV in December that they always choose this period of the year for this kind of big street-building because they cannot do it when there is too much or too strong rain, and December-January is statistically a nearly-no-rain period.
  6. Hi You can find in Pattaya at least that : - KFC - Mc Donald's - Burger King - Pizza Hut ... but only Americans will call "food" what you find there... You have several Italian or French restaurants too if you want some good food...
  7. Hi, Went in last night: NO cover charge. Maybe only for the 31th being a very busy day ? BTW I went inside but quickly made a U-turn: Music is way to loud for me PS: The reason to go there could be that MANY ladies/freelancers go there...
  8. I have read on another forum that Windmill has gone dark... but only one day, the 30th, and was back to business as usual yesterday
  9. http://www.pattayadailynews.com/en/2010/12...rbike-accident/ Read it with FireFox 3.6.13: no problem Check with Chrome 8.0.552.224 too: no problem
  10. Hi, I am not certain that Pimsleur is the best choice to speak Thai in Pattaya. It's a very good way to make ladies laugh during hours ! "Nobody speak like that" they say...
  11. Because you are now 2 to get money home ? (your salary + her salary)
  12. Hi sexpat67, I am 47 and not old enough to get retirement too. I am living here using non-Immigrant O Visa "to visit a friend" that I get every 15 month in Hull. I get it from France by postal mail. Hull will send you back passport + visa as long as the address is in Europe. This Visa is valid 1 year from emission and can give you as many up-to-90 days stays that you want during this year. I do a visa-run every 89 days. If you enter (or visa run) just before he expires you can get another 90 days and then nearly 15 month in total. With this system I go back France every 15 month to say hel
  13. Sorry but my logic is different. I have been living before in France in a big village where there was no break-in; never. So nobody there needed to transform is house in a prison ! Many people not even locked their door when they went in town for a short time, for the market by example. If here in Pattaya people put grids everywhere it's because of many break-in, yes ! And grids is not a so good solution because in many cases burglars enter now in the house through the roof which has nearly alway no defense and is a relatively easy access for a young guy.
  14. Never heard of any break ins ??? So can you tell me why most villas in this area have big walls, big gates, grids on windows, alarms and even sometimes camera and night lightning ? It's one of bigs problems to have a house in Pattaya... And if Security can help, it's not a full waranty it will not happend: see recent break-in cases in a Jomtien "luxe" village.
  15. Hi, A few information here : http://www.pattayabus.com/en/route_schedule.htm (click "Pattaya to Bangkok") You have the minibus option too. There is by example a "station" on Pattaya Tai, 1-3 minibus/hours, 100 baht to Bangkok Victory Station.
  16. I can't understand this kind of comments We are at Pattaya here, not in the USA with mandatory car access to everything ! How many members here use a car in Pattaya ? 10% ? 5% ? 1% ? You need a car here when you have wife and children, yes, but most guys I know here, living alone or with a live-in or wife, have 1 or 2 motorbikes, but no car. BTW you could use Carrefour car park for this massage place
  17. Hi Peter, The cold plates because of the wind is a well know problem in South of France (and certainly many others places) where we have many days of blue sky and pleasant temperatures... but wind. Many restaurants with terrace use what we call a "cloche", a metal cover that reduce the lost of heat. Maybe it could be a solution in some case ? (only a suggestion)
  18. Wrong. Many guys use non-Imm O visa because they have no other choice. They have not "chosen" that. Wrong. You can be retired but not 50 yo by example, and you will have to do visa-runs. Thai immigration and visa rules are always writen in such a way that there are always many people who can't find a simple solution for their case...
  19. After 150 votes, it looks like Americans have lost the battle * UK+ : 42% * Americas : 30% * Australs : 15% This forum is a British forum ...
  20. So, how long before Pook relocate in Soi LK ?
  21. For a small computer/small processor I recommend Chrome. No discussion, the best browser at this moment. FireFox is way to big, slow and greedy in resources for a notebook. A browser of the past ? Maybe. Other alternative: Internet Explorer 9. I use the last IE9 beta on a computer and its really a very good and surprising product ! It's day against night compare to previous versions of IE. Look like Chrome on many ways. You can get it here : http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/interne...ducts/ie-9/home It's a beta, yes, but a already well advanced and nearly release candidate v
  22. Hi. More than 24h already. Can we have the answer ? ... as I personally don't see anything wrong ??
  23. Tourists ? I don't know, but drinking seems to be the main (and only ?) activity of many old retired expats...
  24. You just forget that in the same time (same 10 years) your income (salary ?) as probably more than double So yes it's looks far cheaper today, even for British...
