  1. I wonder if Zero a Go Go will serve a sandwich named Fat Boy?
  2. Brilliant photo essay. To think I've never been. Will wait till the cooler weather, it's hot as a mofo here.
  3. Cucumber has been a favorite of mine for many years, and I always have either the sea bass or the lasagna. The lasagna is also quite good, and it also includes nice garlicky garlic bread.
  4. Any reason why Wales isn't bolded? For that matter, any reason why the British are once again refusing to send a national team?
  5. Yeah, she looks like Howard Stern in drag. Definitely registers a zero on my woody-o-meter, which is maybe why they had to do 10 hours of shooting for five minutes of Internet video.
  6. Simple dos and don'ts to end street harassment!
  7. EP, it looks fantastic. I can't wait to try it. I'm impressed with your knowledge of Japanese food.
  8. I know of at least one gogo bar where they used to post photos of individual dancers online. The marriage proposals flooded in. Not exactly the business model they were looking for. It is indeed a double-edged sword -- both edges pointed at the bar owner.
  9. I think it's great that a Thai bar owner seeks out feedback from her customer base. I'll drop in on my next visit.
  10. Cheers Sa! The lineup looked fairly good the last time I was in. Will check it out on my next trip.
  11. This thread got me thinking about Montreal smoked meat sandwiches. Like the pastrami, this is good stick-to-the-ribs Jewish food, but the cut of beef is different, brisket rather than navel/plate as with the New York pastrami sandwiches. Here's an explanation of the differences between the offerings at the legendary Katz's in New York and world-famous Schwartz's in Montreal. Montreal smoked meat, baby!
  12. They're happy because they know the border's open.
  13. "Bet he’s glad he doesn’t come from Grenada." I didn't get that one at first. I thought he was talking about getting hit with a TV.
  14. Groan! Very punny this month Ah yes, the PPC -- Pedophile Protection Corporation -- affectionately known as "the Peep." Brilliant! Can't believe it took me so long to catch up with my Monkeywatch fix.
  15. Life is good and getting better.

  16. Thanks for the great info! Hopefully not something I'll need to do anymore either but it's good to know it's gotten more convenient.
  17. Ah, a credit card advance. OK. I believe Jacko is talking about a debit card, though.
  18. Jacko, can you explain how that works? I think I tried that once and the lady looked at me like I was from Mars, then pointed me at the ATM.
  19. Just based on how much effort Pacquiao put into getting this fight, and how hard Mayweather worked to avoid it, I'd say Pac Man's got a great shot. I hope he wins it.
  20. Y'know, it's a good point. Only the most devoted tipplers will be drinking at 10 in the morning, so they won't sell many drinks. Most will order breakfast I suppose. Witherspoons is in a high-traffic area so they might be wise to weed out the cheap Charlies.
  21. And the chances of getting stopped are increasing. I passed a checkpoint just the other day, the cops had hauled a bunch of Thai guys over, all on scooters, and were rifling through all their bags and pockets. No Fourth Amendment round these parts.
  22. I would happily help almost all of those ladies subsidize their next Jomtien vacation. (Not the babushka) Great pix, I used up all my greenies on this photo essay.
  23. Thanks cbrib, I think Tigglebitties may fit the bill for me. Close to my old 'hood in Jomtien.
  24. Unless you've been hibernating you know that Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather are finally going to duke it out, for the first (I think?) and probably the last time ever, on May 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Presumably the fight will go on about 8AM May 2. Does anybody know yet where I can watch Da Big Fight? Which taprooms will be playing DBF live? How the bout came about
