Well, I've just spotted a change on the PBR website. The monthly rate for a standard room has gone up by 2,000 Baht - almost 15%. The charge for extra nights has increased too - it was a flat 500 a night, it's now pro-rata'd from the monthly price. Still good value, but that's quite a price hike.

I've had it done and they did a great job of removing all the dead skin without touching the healthy skin. However, the fish in the Avenue are the wrong fish. The proper ones are expensive, so a lot of the stalls use cheap algae eaters instead - similar size & colour. Sorry, but this one is necessary. What the government is trying to do to it's own workers - especially the lower paid - would be criminal if they weren't the ones who make the laws. The rates work for me, keep the aircon off and you won't use 1,500 in a month. as to breakfast, I'm either up and gone for golf, or still asleep, so I wouldn't get it anyway. If you are paying fro breakfast, you get 2 vouchers for each day - the assumption being that you won't be alone.

I always rent a bike. been stopped twice in over 500 days there, both times for going the wrong way up a one-way street, once by accident and once because it was shorter. Even if you get insurance, what's your chance of getting a payout after a theft/accident? As a tourist who'll be leaving the country shortly, you haven't got a lot of leverage there.
