Noise level on LK Metro
teelack replied to midlifecrisis's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I think that the noise levels in Soi LK are directly related to the amount and growth of a'gogo bars. -
Noise level on LK Metro
teelack replied to midlifecrisis's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
As far as I can recall the most that there have ever been in the Soi is 15, now reduced to 14. Some may argue that Amethyst is in fact a show bar rather than a a'gogo but not to me. The other place to add to this list to cover the area rather than the soi is Papagayo. As far as I can recall the only other places in the last two years that have departed the scene are Submarine and MASH. I did in fact mention in my most recent TR that I was happy to spend say 25 % of my nights here which is a change from the past in a major way. Fun House (now closed) Sugar Sugar Oscars Kiss Paradise. Destiny Queen The Office Showgirls Amethyst Bachelors Chrystal Lady Love Champagne Malibu Oasis (adjacent) . -
Taxi Service Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya
teelack replied to darkmancomes's topic in Transport in Thailand
...and I am wondering why you bother with a place/outfit that has issues with communication with its customers! There are others that I wont name that will ALWAYS respond in hours to your requests and charge 1000 baht, put it in writing and are extremely reliable. -
Private Dancer photos

Now that really brings back some great memories! Thanks -
Last month I went for a guided tour of this place. It is new but was spotlessly clean and very well set up. The people showing me around were courteous and suggested that if I wanted the best deal that I contact them direct however I have seen all sorts of deal from as low as $US 37 on some of the accommodation sites and then some horribly high prices on others. The pool and shade looks OK and perhaps the biggest downer was the large construction site next door which seems to be kicking in. Has anyone stayed here or has inside info? I like the location and the rooms looked fine providing the price is right.

Keenly awaited each month and it never fails to please. Keep them coming and remember that the truth is out there and we at home expect you to keep serving it up.

Dont know the answer but I have found that drinking Ginger Ale following dental treatment helps me. Beside leaving a clean taste in the mouth it appears to staunch bleeding following an extraction.

The dreaded Pattaya cough
teelack replied to teelack's topic in Doctors, Dentists, Clinics and Hospitals
Yeah! I have just had a month in Pattaya and didnt get the dreaded Pattaya Cough and believe me that is rare as it happens almost every time. I did make two changes to recent trips and perhaps one of them was the reason. On my first day I opened the air conditioner but the filter was spotless so that didnt have anything to do with it. I had been reading that a cause of respitory issues was having the air conditioning too low. The variance between the outside and inside temps has to be quite gentle. In the past I have been setting it at 24 degrees overnight and this is quite cool and dry compared with the outside temps in Pattaya. This time I set the thermostat at 26 degrees and at no stage did I have any problems. This was the only change that I made so perhaps there is some validity to the idea. Mind you because Kay slept all bloody day I had an extra 1000 baht to pay over my previous power account but for me dodging bronchitis, it was a bargain. -
There are some great specials Auckland to various Asian destinations-via Malaysian!

A woman is walking down the street and sees a sign in the pet shop window reading, "PUSSY-LICKING FROG £25" .. Curious the woman proceeds inside and says to the shop keeper, "I'd like to see the pussy-licking frog, please." To which the shopkeeper replies, "Bonjour!"

Non-Naked, Non-German, Non-Sex Tourist Plunges From Hotel Window

Excellent. A good read. -
I dropped in here the other day for a look around. I had a look say 3 years ago and wasnt that impressed but I know that places can change. Firstly you need to have a good look on their web site to figure out what suits your style. For me it was the Pink Studio. These are located to the rear of the complex and is very peaceful. The studios are free standing units consisting of a bedroom/table chairs etc and a separate walk in shower area. The setting is simply great and very tropical. The swimming pool is in lush tropical foliage with ample recliners and sun parasols. There is an attached bar for a pre dinner drink while you swim or laze. So far so good however the rooms are dated and need some work. Everything is tatty down to the old fashioned TV set.The rooms are dark and the one I had needed a good airing as it smelled stale. The rate was 1200 per night, reasonable value for a serviced hotel and the monthly rate was 24000 baht. All rooms have fan and AC. I could live in this place but only after I had tried a few others. The location is hard to beat however in the heart of Soi Buaakhao. Near to all but peaceful in those tropical gardens. You could do a lot worse and perhaps a bit better. Hope that this helps.

I was in there having a look yesterday and will get around to writing it up in the next day or two.

Brooklyn Diner on Soi BuaKhao - UPDATED Jan. 12, 2015
teelack replied to Evil Penevil's topic in Restaurants and food
Just to add to this thread. I stopped in yesterday looking for a light meal but decided to have breakfast. I wasnt 100% fit and having my meal indoors was a rare change. I decided to have the breakfast and this turned out to be a good choice. Two well fried eggs, two sausages, two good bacon rashers, beans and a tomato. I also was given at the outset orange juice, coffee and two slices of toast. All this and well cooked for 99 baht has to place this in the Best breakfast in Pattaya category. The only mild criticisms that I have to offer are: Fix the table facing the door as it rocks like a seesaw. Perhaps serve the toast with the meal and have it all hot together. The butter was rock solid and un-spreadable for five minutes. These are all very small suggestions when put against the quality of the meal. -
Great read as usual and always 100% appreciated.

MM not sure if this is a problem or not.
teelack replied to Butch's topic in Technical problems or questions.
Hope you dont mind me tagging onto technical issues. The one bugging me is when I compose a TR in Word and then copy and paste on the forum I have trouble with the spacing. What happens is while I am spacing the paragraphs within seconds they are reverting to the original. It take me a few goes to get it right. I am using Chrome for PP browsing due to all the issues with MS IE browser. -
I was there same time as you yesterday Rhino. There was cars and bikes? Really! All I saw were exquisite models of the female variety.

Private Dancer Crazy Curry Night
teelack replied to Private Dancer's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
There are times in Pattaya when you have to take the initiative and actually make the first move. There are managers that are full frontal like Larry and Phil and others not so up front and others that are indeed retiring into their shells. Sometimes you have to assess and take the action that suits the situation. -
Walking Street doesn't need bars and gogos
teelack replied to MM's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Anyone in town on Sunday that had to battle the fucking motor bike exhibition. What a noisy nightmare and has simply no place in the street. -
Hi there Evil. Good to see you in the Siren a few nights ago. If I were to write up a review of the PBG I think that it would essentially mirror image everything you say. The other non food things about the place is that it is easy to say to a Thai girl, "meet you at PBG" and I have never had one disapprove of the place. I also found that because it has Esarn food on the menu that it suits a percentage of the girls.

I was visiting in the area some while ago and I thought that the restaurant seemed totally out of place in that area. Seems that it knows what it is doing so thanks for the review.

I arrived in Pattaya last night and managed to get totally smashed. I drank draft ale almost all night and surprise but the best was at the Paradise gogo in Soi LK. As far as can recall the only poor draft was at the Lighthouse in Walking Street. .
