Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

I assume that Kamagara is back on sale? I think that in the past I was getting 5 or 6 packs of 4 for 1000 baht. Is this still the going rate--assuming that it is available!

As I have already mentioned elsewhere Thai Air seem to be a law unto themselves. I keep looking at their web site for a change (lowering) in air fares but to no avail. If they keep going as they are now they will totally cost themselves out of of my local market.

It must be just across the soi from the late lamented New York New York?

Listen for the Arab drums. It is next door. As a side issue. There is another smaller restaurant opposite the main entrance to the Marine. If you are looking for a quick, inexpensive and tasty meal this might suit you better. The scenery isn't bad as there is a constant procession of people to make your wait interesting.

What is Cathay Pacific like cos found a flight for £374
teelack replied to hatter's topic in Airline Discussion
Just for the interest but I wonder who on here thought that I was being critical of the OP and awarded me a red one? I simply asked if that was the final fare and in fact the poster after me asked the same question. Within the last few day I have for instance found a good fare for a future trip. Then I looked further and found out that the only suitable return flight would put the cost up by an equivalent of about 13000, yes, 13000 baht! I have occasionally been tripped up with fees that were not mentioned, the fact that there was no baggage included and so forth and to ask the OP if he had booked and was happy with the final fare seems a fair question to me. I have flown with Cathay and its fine but it is a long while since because from my part of the world they have costed themselves out of the market for us less well heeled travellers. -

I would like to see the OP come back with some final details of the flights that he has managed to get, times, airline and total costs. I am extremely jealous of a deal like this and wonder if there is something that he and we don't know? I recently vented my frustration with code sharing and I am also aware that some fares are subject to fees from the issuing agent. Like I say, I am jealous but the proof as they say is in the pudding. -
Does it really make any difference? I think that most people here will advise you to book SOME accommodation whatever time you arrive. Take the advice or don't! Also like many others I have been delayed by up to a day, caught in a flood between Bangkok and Pattaya and other issues.

Hi there gents. I just want to thank those who responded to this topic. I have installed Kickass and it works fine. Your help appreciated.

Well for me I usually get into Pattaya at around midnight so meandering about town with a suitcase, carry on bag and a lap top is a bit excessive! On top of that a number of places have Internet rates and these can be very reasonable but you need to do the homework and look at the accommodations own web site rather than use Agoda or whoever. Quite simply BOOKING ahead (not paying ahead) allows peace of mind, an easy transition after untold hours travelling and the possibility of maybe the best deal in the area that you want to stay in. Personally I would not do it any other way.

That was a great report and whilst I am rarely jealous of other peoples travel, what you did, I would love to do. I did travel by air to Luang Prabang and Vientiane and loved the experience but quite clearly to see the area properly a car is really needed.

To the best of my knowledge you cannot fly from Utapou to Cambodia. Suggest that you Google Bangkok to Phnom Pehn. Get the Bell Bus to Swampy, 250 Baht and then you have the choice of Air Asia, Thai and Bangkok to select from. There may be other airlines in transit from overseas that will take you. I have always used Air Asia and booked early and the rate is very reasonable.

As stated, that last pix is a winner. Thanks for the effort.

As usual a startling insight into the inner workings of Pattaya and a troubled mind! Always appreciated.

Don't get me going! The prices for Thai Air (the only direct flight out of NZ to Bangkok) are sky high way into this year. Its about the same distance as LHR but all January the price has been almost $2200 or about eleven hundred pounds sterling. Mi year its $1750 so I may have to go back to Qantas or risk waiting for specials.

Thanks Evil. I had only one meal there and it is the place to go if you are hungry and perhaps looking to eat on the cheap. I had the fish and chips and whilst it was similar to what you will get at the PBG in taste and texture but double the size. It has its place in the Pattaya scenery.

Worth a watch. Thanks

Thanks Ikkrang. I appreciate the comments and also think that this lady should make a good living as long as she gets positive reviews. I will look at the web site when it is ready however I may take a bit of weaning off my current outfit who are reliable and 1000 baht!

Thanks for the photos. Some great smiles there. Is there a pix here of the boss (Richard I believe)? Its always handy to be able to introduce oneself. -
Thank you gents. Looks like this will cover my annual subscription to Pattayatalk!

I was enjoying my Pirate Bay down loads but it has now been off the air for a while. I would be obliged if anyone has any other options that they would recommend. I did try but some of the programmes from a Google search but the ones that I selected were either blocked by my virus checker or in one case filled my computer with all sorts of other software and junk.

Just to add to the plum pudding saga. When I was at school it was traditional to serve Plum Pudding at the end of the year meal. These always had coins wrapped in grease proof paper. Making the pudding at home and adding the coins was alsoa great tradition. As far as I am aware no one choked on them but I guess it must have happened.

Geez, dont tell me that the Americans don't eat Christmas Pudding as well and having never heard of Christmas Crackers? I will not be emigrating!
-
Thanks for explaining this Atlas and the picture. We did a count up prior to Christmas and found that we had almost 200 of the things as it is as traditional as plum pudding in my neck of the woods. Imagine the fortune to be made in the USA when someone gets around to launching them!

On Christmas day we did the normal things and this includes popping lots of crackers. My pretty smart grand daughter gets to read out the jokes and sees this as one of the fun parts of the celebration. There was one however that stopped us all short and the little one asked for help. You decide if this isn't the worst cracker joke ever. Q. Two hydrogen atoms meet. One says "I've lost my electron" The other says "Are you sure?" A. The first replies"Yes, I'm positive."

Oh no you didn't!
