  1. Unlike Butch I have no issues at all with the airline. It did everything right. I would use them but the flight times are not suitable but more importantly there are few bargain flights and when I have tried to get them they disappear from the Internet in a flash. As for the baggage issue. This would have been hell for me. When I arrive home I am lugging my flight bag, laptop and duty free.
  2. I heard that when the cops pulled them up the girls told them "We have a perfect right"to which the cops replied, "You have a perfect left as well but you still need to cover up".
  3. As usual I enjoyed starting my day with a feed of Monkey Food. Thanks as always. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  4. Just read the following on the Internet. Oh dear, next thing they will do is fine the smokers! Thailand has long been as famous for its "anything goes" tourist hedonism as for its natural beauty, Buddhist culture and excellent cuisine. But as two young female visitors discovered on the holiday island of Phuket, the days of Thai authorities turning a blind eye to the excesses of Western tourists are over. The women, an American and an Austrian, were each fined and given a stern lesson about Thai culture after a video emerged of them leaning topless from a vehicle during New Year celebrations on a packed street. The Thai junta is pursuing a crackdown on scantily clad tourists as part of a "morality cleanse" begun by the ruling generals. Police began a hunt for the tourists after the clip - of them in a vehicle in Patong flashing their breasts as they doused themselves with water - went viral on social media. The women, named as Adrianna Martin, 20, from America, and Camille Prymann, 25, from Austria, were tracked to a guest house and charged with indecent public exposure. Each was fined 500 baht ($20.55) and given a lesson in Thai culture and morality by a female police officer. "We explained to them why such behaviour was inappropriate and charged them with public nudity," said Lieutenant-Colonel Sutthichai Thianpho, of the Patong police department. In November, Phuket city police forced three sunbathers lying in a park in bikinis to put on more clothes. Yet while Thailand is determined to crack down on the display of too much skin by Western visitors, prostitution continues to flourish in tourists spots such as Bangkok, Phuket and Pattaya. General Prayuth Chan-o-cha, the Prime Minister and junta chief, said: "Foreign tourists should not have a perception that they can come to Thailand to commit illegal activities as often portrayed in the movies." However, Prayuth had to apologise after he appeared to suggest tourists in bikinis could be putting themselves at risk - unless they were not attractive. "Can they be safe in bikinis ... unless they are not beautiful?" he asked. Amid international condemnation, he quickly apologised and said he was simply urging visitors to "be careful".
  5. Just passed by this thread and thought I would mention the following. Whilst I have not stayed there I do use the eaterie side and the book exchange is a focal point for many of us visiting Pattaya. Thanks for the service as I manage to get through quite a few books every trip and usually find replacements there.
  6. Funny what you remember. The flights were fine but the warm bottles of Chinese beer still haunt me! Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  7. Just bumped into a lawyer friend of mine. As we parted he tells me that he is off to buy a hat with, " BAH HUMBUG on it, no kidding! Ah well, it takes all sorts to make a Merry Christmas. Best wishes to all. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  8. I tend to arrive between 9 PM and 1 AM. I stood in line four times last year and in every instance beat the luggage out of the chute. I cannot see me paying a premium for the odd few minutes now and again.
  9. Your contribution is as always appreciated. Thanks for the time and effort
  10. Oh so very true. One thing that he mentions a few times is something that I may be guilty of. This is that his clients pay big money to learn the truth and the facts of their case. The client then turns around and disregards or doubts the report as in "My girl is different" and either doesn't believe or forgives. The guy who gave the books to me is a quiet sort but he makes me chuckle when we talk about the books and he gives me a Hill Street Blues warning. "Its dangerous out there on the streets. Take care" and this is how he sees the Thai dating game.
  11. I thought that I would share my recent reading with you. I came across these books when I was last in Thailand and they were in fact presented to me by a fellow guest at my hotel. I am fairly sure he felt that I needed them as he was well aware that I had a Thai lady living with me and saw this as a way of warning me in to the possible consequences. In retrospect, he was reasonably on the money! The two books are: Thai Private Eye & Confessions of a Bangkok Private Eye. The author is a New Zealander called Warren Olsen who has now left Thailand and is an academic in his home country. In his words, he founded ‘Thailand’s most famous detective agency’. I do believe that this guy knows what he is talking about. He seems to have run a successful private detective agency in Thailand for some years and picked up perfect Thai (in his opinion) as well as Kymer, Lao and Issan. He has travelled all over the area and is well versed in the culture and regional nuances. The reality is that these books are almost 100% aimed at exposing scams, lies and cheating practiced by Thai girls on falang guys. This seemingly was the core of his business and he is totally of the belief that relationship between bar girls and falang are doomed to failure with the exception of a tiny percentage. The books do however go beyond that and it was his understanding and explanation of why Thai girls end up prostituting themselves that I found fascinating and well written. He does indeed have a soft spot for them and what they have to put up with. He also is quite cynical about the unrealistic wants and expectations of old, fat. smelly, unrealistic, dreaming and generally undesirable (other than cash in their pockets) falang men. The books are not perfect and the odd mistake has crept in but I can only recommend anyone proposing to take on a Thai lady for other than the odd night here and there, read them. It’s a racy read and easy to digest as they really consists of a list of short stories about gullible guys and scheming women. Warren himself is keen on a serious amount of booze and Thai girls. Whilst his central thesis sounds a bit one sided, his explanations and rationalisations for the how’s and why’s are quite enlightening. I have to mention on a personal basis that I saw myself being described in a few of the stories and this can always be discomforting-but eventually, enlightening! A definite recommendation.
  12. Wherever it is there must be some applause for the reply to this question. Thanks for sharing. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  13. I was having issues logging on and this came as surprise to me. I was however thinking of names for this place. How about: Butt I Love You. Goldfinger Massage. Cultivate the Prostate. Come--Again--and Again. Wholesale Massage. The options are endless!

  15. Not sure about that. For instance Budget Baked beans are half the price of "Premium" beans and as they are canned on the same production line, is buying them cheap or frugal? If I opt to buy the budget one then surely I am endangering the livelihoods of the people working for the premium brands? Most countries have a great amount of people who have to live frugally to have an existenceand I am sure that they wouldnt understand the distinction of buying cheap and being frugal when all they want to do is survive.
  16. Yup, another great news update worth a read.
  17. It was a funny old night in Pattaya. Sure there was drink being sold before midnight but the clubs were filling up awaiting the starters pistol. I was in Sugar Baby and it was a rip roaring start to the Wednesday however walking around town it was a game of two halves. Soi Diamond was quiet other than Windmill which was pumping. I was also in Sensations which was also chocka. A number of places didnt open and some were empty. I ended the night back in Soi LK via the Cherry Bar where Skygod was in conference. The night as usual ended with a monster bill at Showgirls where I was accused by Kennika of having fishy fingers. Just another night in Pattaya.
  18. Thanks for the write up and the letter in Thai. I had problems explaining the closure to Kennika so gave her the letter to read. Thankfully I can catch up on the computer and she can do the house work!
  19. As usual a good read and great to start the day with a laugh. Where is the place that has the Friday night music show or is that a secret? Question. According to this forum the cost of nooky in Pattaya is soaring. If so why is it so popular with the Indians? Perhaps they are negotiating a bulk deal?
  20. I would imagine that some of the England supporters will take comfort from the following. It has oft been said that a World Cup is unlike any other event and that in a situation like this the form guide is rather useless except in the broader sense. I am sure that the Japanese and now the English will agree with this. Also, the "All Black number two teams". Tonga and Samoa have had a miserable cup as well. New Zealand usually start favorite but they have been dumped out a lot more times than they have won so there is some truth here.
  21. Thanks Atlas. As is well known I only go Long Time so it is no use to me.
  22. I have to believe that in the long term this could be a good move providing that there are sufficient destinations and the infrastructure of a shuttle service for instance to get passengers to and from the place. This seems to have always been an issue . One of the great joys of visiting Thailand for me has been the ability to have cheap flights to all over Asia. This changed when Air Asia moved to Don Muang and since that date I haven't used them.
  23. Just another add on to my comments about what could be the culprit. For years I would religiously keep a bottle of water in the bathroom for washing my toothbrush. I now just wash it under the tap so I guess any greeblies in the water could come, in my case, from there. I stopped guessing where the ice I get in drinks came from ages ago as well.
  24. Thanks for the links guys. All these years and I have never bothered but I can see that it can be quite addictive.
  25. Last two times in Pattaya I have had an upset stomach but it didnt really impact on the holiday. I am always conscious that when I am in Pattaya I have all sorts of strange things in my mouth and therefore never try to point the blame in any one area. As an instance of the above I take the odd dose of Kamagara and I like eating pussy. I used to blame the food but I realise that I am my own worst enemy and also get kissy kissy with the odd gogo dancer. There are simply too many possible causes for me to ever pin down the real culprit. I am also a draft beer drinker and some of that stuff can be dire. I also like to have English breakfast on a regular basis and have often wondered about the way that the eggs are stored and the contents of that breakfast sausage. I have also asked on the odd occasion to use the toilets and when you get out the back and have a look at some of the kitchens you wonder how anyone gets out alive! I know people that will not visit Asia because they think that the food is crap and dangerous but if I ever get to that stage I may as well sign into an old folks home.
