I believe that I have the best of all worlds. I opened a Kasikorn account and most of my cash goes in there on arrival in Pattaya and as there is a Kasilkorn ATM every 100 metres in Pattaya and its free to use, so I have no issues there in cash safety or management. I have in the past simply transferred money from my bank to the Kasikorn before leaving home but have had to accept a lesser rate for the TT of funds than I generally get for cash in Pattaya. Both my credit and debit card are from my home country and I simply transfer money from savings into current account on the internet and get any cash needed from a bank ATM in Pattaya. My credit card is used for the hotel and any purchases such as duty free as well as for ATM funds that I may need in my home country; when I get home penniless! I do advise my bank before leaving about probable card useage before I leave home. These card are carried separate in transit so I will always have access to money other than in some catastrophic screw up.

I do love those countdown clocks but have never managed to figure them out. OK, easy at the start. Go to a site and download one and put the details into the clock and away it goes. I also note at the foot of the clock there is a HTLM code 'thingo'. I just cannot figure how to get the clock from its original position onto my desk top or indeed as some here have them on their responses to Pattayatalk. I understand the first half but never been able to finish. Can someone help please. I hate to be beat.

I use debit card each time in Thailand to top up my cash but here are the rules; 1. Only use ATM at a bank in case of a malfunction. 2. Advise my bank before leaving that I will only be using the debit card for cash withdrawals. 3. Lock the card in my safe as soon as possible after use. 4. Never get less than 10000 baht as the fee is the same (some banks will only give me 5000) 5. Totally put out of my mind the 150 baht fee that I am charged by the local bank.. Its a part of the costs of my holiday. 6. Ditto the exchange costs that my home bank imposes. I am simply happy to have a quick and efficient source of funds when I need them

Worlds colliding: Russian girls in Pattaya
teelack replied to nickman70's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
It all depends on what you want. I still enjoy the clubs off Walking Street (Baby Dolls, PD and X Zone for instance) and would also say that my pick of the clubs in Pattaya are both in the street. I do totally agree that if you want cheaper food and drink Buakhao area is great however if you like dancers Soi LK has nothing to offer over Walking Street and the prices are getting up to Walking Street levels. -

In fairness I have always found the girls in this place very civilised and you get your moneys worth. There was a good service lady there earlier this month. The following night I happened to walk into a gogo and the same lady was on the stage dancing having left PD. Says something about the quality of their service girls. -
I cant help but think that if you emailed say Mr T and Mr Toom they would have a solution for your problem in that they must run into it on a regular basis.

Private Dancer A Gogo

In fairness to the truth a bowl of chilli/curry lasts (in my case) about two minutes so it really is a non issue. -
As I previously mentioned in a TR I used to go to the departures area (whatever floor) and get a cab from there. Last time in I walked out of the first floor next to the Bell counter and got a cab sitting there immediately for 1200 including tolls. Its not worth the hike upstairs.

Being dense again I see. This is what the OP asked (if you had bothered to read it) anyone heard if lk metro area has another angel witch or is it about to open in some other name He clearly knew that it might not be under the Anglewitch name and he was right but as we have all read and have known for some while this place is associated with Angle witch even if the name is different. I hope that this clears the matter up.

D Apartment Review. November 2013
teelack replied to teelack's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I have not really been negative about this place. More sounding a word of caution. For me the 1100 baht is over priced compared with what I get at the Sabai but other than that if its location first then go for it. -

Review of the D Apartments. A little history here is due. I have stayed for the last few trips in Soi 2 at the Sabai but was looking for a change to the Soi Buakhao are for its proximity to Soi LK as well as it’s easier access to Walking Street. The baht buses can get there that much quicker that the pedestrian speed down Beach Road. On this basis the change of location was a total success and I can only but recommend the area to anyone. The range of bars, eateries and general services is just great and there is some good walking destinations form there as well as easy access to the Tuesday/Friday market. I booked on the Internet and gave them my credit card number and was charged two nights deposit. The D Apartments is a game of two halves in that it has an old building and a new one. The old one fronts Soi Buakhao whilst the new rooms are up a side street and therefore quieter. The new rooms are better appointed and everything is that much more modern and clean. In addition the old rooms have no tea/coffee equipment. The old building is four stories and in not fitted with a lift so beware if this is an issue for you. The new building is seven stories and has a lift to all floors other that the swimming pool which is on the next floor up. The site has a reasonable web site and after some reading of it I chose a large front room, old building at 18000 baht per month. I ended up on the top floor and have no real complaints about this. The room is serviced fully every second day and there is always extra towels left in the room and the large fridge at one time had up to 14 bottles of hotel supplied water. Soap and shampoo is also provided. There is some noise from Soi Buakhao as is inevitable but other than the odd Harley showing off this did not bother me. There was enough natural light to keep me happy and the view down New Plaza to the city was fine as well. The room has a safe box and was OK for the standard laptop. There is also reasonable internet connection. I was able to log on straight away every time I used it and kept the same log on code all month so it was easy to recall. I cannot judge the speed but it was fine for email and general surfing and never let me down. In addition to this access there are three computers in the reception area for free use. I found the staff very good in general and the girls doing the rooms could not have been more helpful and did a good job. The reception is 24/7 and they do not take identity passes from visitors. I was confused by one aspect. About half way through my stay I was asked to pay up. No real problem and I said I would be down the following day. I tried a few times to pay after that but in the end I paid a couple of hours before leaving the hotel at the end of the month due to their lack of interest in being paid! In addition to the computers at reception there is also 24/7 coffee and biscuits & sweets to be had as well as two microwave ovens. The rooms are plain and neither the old or new ones seen to have much embellishment. Having said the new building seems spotless and I even saw a lady on her knees cleaning the grouting with a toothbrush. Some pictures on the wall or some colour would have cheered the place up a bit. The swimming pool is adequate for a dip however there is a dearth of covered space and you need to be creative if you want a spot which is not in full sun. I managed it most days so it wasn’t a major issue but could have been. Sadly there was a fault with the filtration system and this rendered the pool unusable for about a week in total. A black mark in my books. SUMMARY. This is what I would call adequate accommodation. The real downside for some is that if you try to do it on the cheap in the old building you could end up in an inside room and never see natural light, a total no-no for me. This has to be sorted at the outset. As for the new building, well the rooms are better but IMHO overpriced as they are getting near hotel price. The one real asset is the location and whilst this place seems to be full most of the time I believe there to be better accommodation at really good prices in the vicinity and the building going on in the area suggests that this will only improve. I did use some of my time looking at other options and have in fact made a booking for 2014 in the area and I believe it to be a better deal and location. By all means give the place a try but perhaps use it as a stepping stone to other property options in the area. Finally, the account. I did get it paid and this needs to be checked. I was aware that there were some variations. Due to an unfortunate accident with one of my ‘friends’ I had to pay 500 baht for extra laundry services (extortionate and I told them so) and just as the bill was going into the machine I asked if the deposit had been accounted for. No, it hadn’t so this was a bit unsatisfactory.

Sorry to say it but I think a few of you guys need to take time out on the naughty step. AS far as I can see this was advice of a business for sale and the questions and comments have been made on the stated and implied facts. This will or should be the case in a public forum. As far as I can see all that has been said is what a bunch of guys sitting around a bar chatting about the post would say and comment on, and w3here is the harm in that.

Spankys VIP X Pat Card
teelack replied to spankys bar soi diamond's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
I dropped by over three weeks ago and was told to bring my passport in for a card. I never did return in the same way that I never carry my passport on me. I have I think, been to every other bar in the complex. -
Hi-fucking-larious! Thanks for a great read.

I rarely eat pizza but suggest that you ditch all this Pattaya stuff that no one seems to like. Take off to anywhere in Cambodia and order a $5 Magic (or Happy) Pizza and it will give you 24 hours of satisfaction or hell depending on your constitution.

Thanks I have one but as it seems that as you need to belittle people perhaps you don't!
