  1. I ate at Cafe Pittini a number of times in May and found the meals to be excellent and very good value.
  2. The Marriott would be their best bet.
  3. You can guarantee that 100% - With Dennis (the owner) being one of the nicest Irish guys you could ever wish to meet in Pattaya it's a certainty.
  4. I also get the same warning using Opera - Strangely this is the only site that I have ever had the warning.
  5. Have to agree 100% Martin I had so much work done by her and she was the best dentist I have ever visited. As I had her private email address I contacted her to see if she was practising in Chang Mai as I was prepared to trave up there Sadly she advised she no longer practices. However, she did recommend Dr Wongspat who she used to work with at PIH and has now set up his own practice. As such, I made an appointment to see him in May and ended up getting a 3 crown bridge and rear molar crown. The cost was 3 x bt 13,000 for the porcelain crown bridge & bt 18,000 for the heavy duty rear molar crown. Whist Dr Wongspat is not Dr Aree he was very professional in his manner and I was extremely satisfied with the work he did. Attached are his details for anybody interested I would certainly recommend him.
  6. Just an update on my suit. I ended up using AMA Fashions (opposite Tops supermarket) on Pattaya Klang. I have to say all the reviews about them were 100% accurate. I was greeted with cold drinks and no hard sell. I had come prepared with a photo of the style of suit I wanted and with that we set about choosing the fabric. The process was really professional and I was presented with three prices for the three levels of fabric I had been shown. Once I selected the price I wanted I was measured for the suit and my first fitting was scheduled for 2 days later. I was delighted to meet Chris the owner during the initial consultation and as many of the reviews mentioned, he was indeed a really nice guy. My first fitting went well and it was indeed a delight to not have to suck my gut in to clip up the trousers. Bespoke is indeed a dream. As I was happy with the fitting, including a tailored white shirt, the go ahead was given to complete my order. Two days later I turned up to try on the finished ensemble and the results were impressive. The finish was superb, the fit perfect and the final result outstanding. I was offered a silk tie as a gift, the suit was packed in a suit cover and the balance of the quoted price was paid. No excuses for more work or material than quoted. Just a genuine old fashioned business transaction. Simply the best. I can not adequately describe the service I received, other than to say in true Australian fashion, if you are in Pattaya and need any item of clothing made to measure, you have rocks in your head if you dont use AMA Fashion Pattaya. Regarding cost, I selected the middle range fabric and got a two piece double breasted suit, with white cotton shirt for bt 6,000
  7. Rented a twist and go automatic bike from Kevin for the last two weeks of May. Excellent service. The bike was delivered and picked up at the Metro Apartments on time as requested. It was in perfect condition and never missed a beat during the hire period, except when I tried to start it with the kick stand down - Duh!. A quick text to Kevin who promptly responded and let me know of my error and all was fine. Seriously guys, Kevin provides a great service with quality bikes and all I can say if you go elsewhere your are seriously wasting your time - This business is the only way to go.
  8. I purchased four boxes (50 per box) of Kamagra jells yesterday for 1,200 bt per box at a local 2nd road pharmacy - No questions asked - Also advised they were the the good quality jells from India, not the inferior Chinese ones. Price for two boxes was 1,500 bt per box.
  9. Thanks for the reply - I did a Google search as per my post header and AMAA came up straight away - One of the hits was from Trip Advisor and on their they got some really good feed back, so much so that I was planning on using them - Your recommendation has sealed the deal - Thank you. And thanks to everyone else that posted.
  10. Ill be in Pattaya during the second half of May and need some recommendations for a good quality honest tailor. Ive searched the forum but there doesnt appear to be any updated information. I require a quality 3 piece suit for my daughters wedding that can be completed during my 2 week stay. I would also appreciate an indication of the costs involved.
  11. Catching up on "Sons of Anarchy" - The girls at work got me hooked and I'm up to series 5 with 2 episodes to go - Really enjoying it.
  12. Nice place but talk about poetic licence - At the end of the day its a STUDIO apartment on the so called penthouse floor.
  13. Great pics Rhino - Thanks for making the effort.
  14. A word of warning - Bazzap from this board just returned from Pattaya where he purchased a copy Galaxy S2 as he dropped his genuine one, which stopped working. He rang me yesterday and was complaining that the reception was really tinny and the phone in general was a piece of crap. So much so that he has already ordered a new genuine one.
  15. RIP Paul - It was always a pleasure to chat with you. Thanks for the link Terry Lee - An amazing insight into a great guy.
  16. If you look at the plumbing in most shop houses you will notice they use 2" to 3" diameter pipes to connect toilets to the sewers whilst in western countries they use 5" to 6" pipes. Subsequently the smaller diameter pipes block easily when tissues along with turds try to negoitate the smaller pipes.
  17. Great stuff - Well done
  18. There is no missing money. Each diner ends up paying $9 ($9 x 3 = $27) Each diner still has $1 in their pocket $1 x 3 = $3 ($27 + $3 = $30) Therefore the $2 in the waitress’s pocket is part of the $27 that the diners paid. In conclusion, $25 went to the restaurant, $2 to the waitress, and the remaining $3 went back to the diners ($25 + $2 + $3 = $30)
  19. I'm using IE9.0.12 and don't appear to have a problem !
  20. Well said - Agree 100%
  21. Just heard the trifecta paid $45,000 and the quadrella over $900,000 !
  22. Great photos - Great post
