Hooters on Beach Road- The Food (updated Dec. 20, 2016)
MM replied to Evil Penevil's topic in Restaurants and food
I went into Hooters 2 days ago about 5pm. It was fairly busy, but not buzzing. I asked about Xmas day dinner reservations and one of the staff came over and took my booking. I was concerned she wasn't writing it down, but she did confirm it back to me verbally. I decided to have a cranberry juice (80b and very good) and just chill a bit. About 10 minutes later, the Rubenesque bartender who I'd given my reservation to came back with a notebook where she wrote my reservation request from memory, then read it back to confirm she'd got it right. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable I felt there. They got rid of the bandstand, which is a huge plus for me, the bull is pushed to the back now, and the service is really on top of things it seems. During the Happy hour (2pm-6pm?) prices are slashed. -
Internet 90 day reporting...broken for all or just me?
MM replied to MM's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Well, it's that time again. I successfully filled in the 90 day reporting form using IE on Monday. Now, on Thursday, I can't access the kludgy extranet site https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn90online Using IE, it tells me to change my TLS settings, though they worked before. Using Chrome just to check reachability, it says Can you imagine what a fuck up the "Single Gateway" is going to be when they can't even get a forms based system to work with all browsers and cannot keep it going regularly? -
I've upgraded you to MEMBERS group, so you should be able to do all that you need.

Hooters on Beach Road- The Food (updated Dec. 20, 2016)

In the foreground you can see ashtrays on every table, and approaching from the beach is a very lithe Russian bartender/server. EDIT IN: After I took that photo, the "Russian" came by and asked me if I wanted another drink (cranberry juice was delicious on a hot day). I didn't detect any accent during the short interaction, so I am backing off from identifying her as a Russian and will simply say she is a Westerner of unknown national origin. Is it a buffet? From the description I can't tell definitively, but I get the impression you're served each course. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Picked this up from a post on Facebook: Dear Santa, ? How are you? How is Mrs. Claus? I hope everyone, from the reindeer to the elves, is fine. I have been a very good boy this year. I would like an X-Box 360 with Call of Duty IV and an iPhone 7 for Christmas. I hope you remember that come Christmas Day. Merry Christmas, Timmy Jones * * Dear Timmy, Thank you for you letter. Mrs. Claus, the reindeer and the elves are all fine and thank you for asking about them. Santa is a little worried all the time you spend playing video games and texting. Santa wouldn't want you to get fat. Since you have indeed been a good boy, I think I'll bring you something you can go outside and play with. *Merry Christmas,* Santa Claus *** Mr. Claus, Seeing that I have fulfilled the "Naughty vs. Nice" contract, set by you I might add, I feel confident that you can see your way clear to granting me what I have asked for. I certainly wouldn't want to turn this joyous season into one of litigation. Also, don't you think that a jibe at my weight coming from an overweight man who goes out once a year is a bit trite? Respectfully, Tim Jones * * Mr. Jones, While I have acknowledged you have met the "nice" criteria, need I remind you that your Christmas list is a request and in no way is it a guarantee of services provided. Should you wish to pursue legal action, well that is your right. Please know, however, that my attorney's have been on retainer ever since the Burgermeister Meisterburger incident and will be more than happy to take you on in open court. Additionally, the exercise I alluded to will not only improve your health, but also improve your social skills and potentially help clear up a complexion that looks like the bottom of the Burger King fry bin most days. Very Truly Yours, S Claus * * Now look here Fat Man, I told you what I want and I expect you to bring it. I was attempting to be polite about this but you brought my looks and my friends into this. Now you just be disrespecting me. I'm about to tweet my boys and we're gonna be waiting for your fat ass and I'm taking my game console, my game, my phone, and whatever else I want. WHAT EVER I WANT, MAN! T-Bone * * Listen Pizza Face, Seriously??? You think a dude that breaks into every house in the world on one night and never gets caught sweats a skinny G-banger wannabe? "He sees you when you're sleeping; He knows when you're awake". Sound familiar, genius? You know what kind of resources I have at my disposal. I got your shit wired, Jack. I go all around the world and see ways to hurt people that if I described them right now, you'd throw up your Totino's pizza roll all over the carpet of your mom's basement. You're not getting what you asked for, but I'm still stopping by your crib to stomp a mud hole in you're ass and then walk it dry. Chew on that, Petunia. S Clizzy * * Dear Santa, Bring me whatever you see fit. I'll appreciate anything. Timmy * * Timmy, That's what I thought you little bastard. Santa

Plan to approve 10 year visas for over 50s - read fine print
MM replied to MM's topic in Idle Chit Chat
The whole 10 year extension thing seems to be poorly thought out, though that's not surprising coming from this government. Okay, it's for over 50 retirees. Given that insurance is prohibitively expensive and less and less likely to cover existing conditions by age 60, that's really a 10 year window where the applicants would have decent insurance. Beyond that, many have picked up various ailments that would be excluded by any insurance, making the coverage limits inapplicable. So, why would they require such meager insurance anyway? The yearly limits are quite low and would hardly make a dent in a serious elder disease/incident. Given the alternate requirement of 3M baht in the bank, why not just drop the insurance requirement (unless their "friends" are in the insurance business) and allow the applicants to be self-insured? Any "rich" person in Thailand would probably be able to self-insure anyway, and it seems 3M baht would cover most hospital stays. If the retiree can replenish the 3M baht before the next extension, then they continue on this plan, otherwise, they can drop back to the 1 year O-A extension as before. For me, there is no way I am going to pay 50-70K/month for insurance so I can avoid going to immigration 5 times in 5 years, especially since I will have to go 20 times for reporting my address. -
Jazz and blues would be a very welcome change.

Okay, I don't get it..and I did think about it for a bit It's apparently led you to say "drap" beer when the sign says "craft" beer. But I have to discount the idea that you are thinking they meant to say "draft" or "draught" beer, since "craft" beer is a common term now used in the USA (and UK, from an internet search). So, I know it's no fun if you have to explain a joke, but... Also, where is this place? It sounds like a good night out!

A few weeks ago, the missus and I went to Monster Shrimp on that soi. I was surprised at how clean and eclectic (for Pattaya) the street was. Across from Monster Shrimp is that party store and the "Cat Cafe". The Cat Cafe actually has cats as furry hosts for the diners. People were in there eating with cats doing their leg rubbing thing and just wandering around. BTW, we really enjoyed Monster Shrimp. From what I have gleaned from speaking to others, it's very similar to some southern USA cooking style. You can order various combinations of shrimp, crab, squid, mussel, and clams that are then cooked with a delicious sauce and boiled. They are served to you in a plastic bag which is then dumped onto a large paper place mat at your table. No dining utensils are provided, but you get a nice big bib to cover your top. Anyway, it's an interesting little soi.

Sadly, with the shortage of imported turkeys, Eddie made the decision to provide Thai turkeys for Thanksgiving. I have never eaten such a tough, stringy, flavorless turkey. I left half of it on the plate as I considered it inedible. On top of that, the turkey dinner was 900+ baht, and many other places were using Norbest turkeys and charging less.

Good place to go for a deposit...can't guarantee it's safe though.

I sure miss the décolletage.

Topics like this should not be in the member's bar section. Generally, I'd say either "Idle chit-chat" or "Off Topic", depending on whether it's PG or not. BTW, I just finished the season and am looking forward to season 2, though it's not going to be released until 2018. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Do you know any other BMs who live in or near Philly? If not, why are you posting this one city constantly? Are you trying to build up courage to book a flight?

It's working great. I get an email when any mail arrives, I can view the envelope, and if I want to see the contents, I can get it scanned within a few hours. I had them forward some mail to me after viewing it, since I needed to fill out some forms, and that worked perfectly.

I had a guy who wanted to get a box from Phil after he had moved to the UK. I contacted Phil and he told me his girlfriend was handling sales and delivery now. I contacted her on FB and she said she was out of stock, but would have some within the week. Never heard from her again.
