Literally Boarding now....longest commercial flight 19 hours
TheFiend replied to Rawhide2's topic in Airline Discussion
That's using an A359ULR.... I wonder if Singapore will remain the only customer for it... Airbus are also gong to do a long range version of the A35K, Qatar having amended an order, changing 5 A359's to the longer range version of the A35K. -
I think Emirates is 6 daily if you include the Hong Kong and Sydney flights that call at Bangkok en-route.

From 1st October it became... QR021 DOH0135 0700MAN 359 D QR027 DOH0810 1335MAN 359 D QR023 DOH1445 2010MAN 788 x357 QR022 MAN0820 1715DOH 359 D QR028 MAN1510 0005+1DOH 359 D QR024 MAN2125 0620+1DOH 788 x357 1st December it changes to... QR021 359 D QR027 77W D QR023 788 x357 QR022 359 D QR028 77W D QR024 788 x357 I'd hazard a guess that from 22nd May it will become unless they switch QR27/QR28 back to A359... QR021 359 D QR027 77W D QR023 788 D QR022 359 D QR028 77W D QR024 788 D If the 77W stays on the afternoon flight I'll either aim for booking QR21/QR22 or fly from EDI unless EDI changes back to 788.

Some more news on Manchester..... The afternoon flight is being up-gauged to a 777-300ER from 1st of December and 22nd May 2019 Qatar increase from 18 to 21 weekly flights... Sadly the evening flight will still be a 787 Nightmareliner.. Other Qatar news is that DOH - BKK is increasing to 7x Daily.
-
No doubt, but I was talking about it'll probably be curtains on the production line after the UPS order.... Nowadays Boeing are delivering more 777F than 747-8F.
-
But how often is the nose door used..... Most cargo doesn't require a nose door...The 777F or future 777XF will probably kill of the 747-8F.... Once UPS take their remaining aircraft on the order book that could be curtains the the -8F
-
The 747-8i was a failure a a passenger aircraft, so much so that Boeing still have one they never managed to sell, LN1435 which was built for Lufthansa and they never took delivery.... Two others that never got delivered will end up as Air Force Ones.. The 747-8F will still be produced for a while, but for how long?

Hotel balcony falls - suicide or accident?
TheFiend replied to Yujin's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I'm proof of that also, I've got a scar on my forehead from a slip in the bathroom at the Queen Vic on one of my earliest Pattaya visits!!! -
Worst experiences....... Flew Manchester to Tenerife on an Airtours holiday...... Luggage was delayed and they put us in a different hotel to the one we'd booked, then failed to pick us up from our hotel for our return flight!!! Flying QR Nightmareliners, they're like sardine cans,,,, Hopefully won't have to fly another.... They've already upgraded DOH-EDI to the A350 , soon to be joined by DOH-MAN. Best..... A biz class upgrade on an Etihad A340-600 on only my second trip with them

Did you manage to pre-select your seat with Thai? -
Might be a bad thing for competition and prices if the ME3 become the ME2, although with the new Istanbul Airport due to open later this year there might be increased competition from Turkish

Can't make this, Happy Burpday Adam..... Have a good one!!!! -
Nowt to be embarrassed about having a 9 year old PC......The PC I use for browsing is based on a 8 year old motherboard running a 6 core CPU. For the more serious stuff I have a couple of AMD Ryzen systems that I built last year.
-
How old is your PC? Motherboards nowadays have quite decent on-board audio. I haven't used a dedicated sound-card for a long time

No deal Brexit and flights in and out of UK
TheFiend replied to Rawhide2's topic in Airline Discussion
Yep, but it's in the Airline Discussion sub-forum and the thread was started about the effect of a "No Deal Brexit" on flights, not on house prices!!! -
The bassist on this song is Patricia Morrison, she went on to play bass with The Damned between 1997 and 2004 - she married Dave Vanian (lead singer of The Damned)... I've talked to her and Dave Vanian after a few Damned gigs I've been to ..... Nice lady!!!

What has house prices got to do with Airlines???? -
Yep..... I used to use Speaker systems designed for PC (like the Creative ones) but they had a bad habit of failing on me and I've used my Rotel/Kef combination for over 10 years without a single problem. Had the Rotel amp spare after upgrading to an Arcam Amp and Arcam CD player for listening to my CDs. It's easy enough to find a cable to connect a PC to a normal stereo amp.
-
I run a couple of Kef Speakers through a old Rotel Stereo amp fed off my PC rather than PC speakers.... much better quality sound.

TheFiend replied to Rawhide2's topic in Airline Discussion
This topic is in the "Airline Discussion" forum. Perhaps it would be better moved down to "Politics and "Religion" if it's going to be turned into a wider discussion of Brexit... -
Your friend needs to be told about never making plans when visiting Thailand, and especially Pattaya!!!
