October 28th will see Qatar increasing Manchester to 18 flights a week and the A350 replacing the 787 Nightmareliner on the morning and afternoon flights....... the evening flight will remain as a Nightmateliner duty.... Yippee!!! Hopefully I've suffered my last Nightmareliner flight for a long time!!!!

I've arrived at Swampy to find both immigration areas with huge queues on more than one occasion. ,....... on one occasion we were told to use the priority immigration channel as my wife was Thai and they let us through no problem.

I've booked my next trip but sadly no option of A380 to BKK with Qatar, but I've managed to avoid the less comfortable 787 Nightmareliner and 777 flights...... I'm flying A350 EDI-DOH and A340-600 DOH-BKK

So you don't see the huge queues at Immigration on arrival? The huge number of people waiting to check-in, the long queues at check-in? On arrival I'm lucky as I go through the Thai Passport channels with Mrs Fiend, it's a lot quicker than joining the long snake for other nationalities. BKK is overcrowded...... It was designed for 600 flights per day and 45 million passengers per year.... last year it was 60 million passengers and 800 flights per day. Yes, UTP will be a lot less crowded than BKK. Have booked my October trip.... flying EDI-DOH-BKK with Qatar and then up to

Topic locked as there is already topic about the Doha-U-Tapao flights.

It is being discussed in this thread... http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/topic/68426-londondoha-to-pattaya/

Why? Swampy is running at passenger levels much higher than it's design capacity...... Getting through Immigration/security means long waits.... Last month on my last day we were booked to fly from Chiang Mai to Swampy on Thai, before flying back to the UK with Qatar.... Thai interlined us all the way through to Manchester..... Immigration at Chiang Mai took seconds...... certainly beats waiting in queues at Swampy.....

Remember Chicken George and "Pale face lady " well. The were always hanging around Soi 7 and 8.....

Didn't look like he had shit himself when I saw him, might have been on a different day to when you saw him...

When I was on LKM last month I saw a guy similar to what you described wandering down the soi..... flip flops tied to his feet with string...

Emirates - Edinburgh to Dubai - From 1 October 2018

Started pricing up flights for a trip in October. Unfortunately it coincides with Half Term for schools in England and prices for flights from Manchester with Qatar were coming in at nearly £700 per person Decided to check out the Edinburgh option.... Surprisingly flights with Qatar for the same dates were much more respectable.... I've managed to get flights for £425 per person.... The price with Emirates for the same dates.....£524 Looking forward to flying on Qatar's A359 EDI-DOH and DOH-EDI. Luckily EDI is roughly the same distance away from where I live as MAN is..... :D -
Let's try and keep this on topic and keep politics and Trump out of it.....

Whinge about Thai Visa - again
TheFiend replied to unclebuck's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Well, in Europe they have just introduced GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) which has given a person the right to withdraw consent to that personal data from organisations holding that data. Does the US have any similar data protection regulations? You could claim to be a EU citizen/resident and tell them that under GDPR you withdraw your consent for them to hold your personal data and they must close your membership and delete your personal data..... -
Buying a replacement phone in Thailand
TheFiend replied to Butch's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
My Nokia 8 came with just the basic Android OS, no bloatware whatsoever..... and within less than a week the update to Android 8.0 was made available and now updated to Android 8.1.... I'm loving mine. The quality on the new "Nokias" is as good as it ever was, certainly better than the Samsung mobiles I have come across..... my wife and my daughter have Samsung.. -

So you like the new Nokia's on Android? I've got the Nokia 8 and it's great!!! -
It's not smoke, it's actually vapour and the smell comes from the flavouring of the juice. I use fruity flavours and never had any complaints about the smell.
-
There is a forum for vapers in Thailand. Google it. You might find the information you require on there.

E-cigs are illegal in Thailand and they have clamped down on them.... You can risk bringing stuff in but break it down in various bits and spread the bits about in your luggage. That's how I got mine in.... And my juice is in unmarked bottles....
