I did once walk on the beach about 13 years ago, on my second visit to Pattaya.....the first and only time I have.... I don't visit Pattaya for the beach, I visit for the fun and the booze!!!

The information is out there, you just need to look..... MAN-BKK is the number one unserved route route in Europe and approx 75% of that traffic is routed through DXB, DOH and AUH

Apparently a delegation from Thai Airways visited MAN in June and left with a very positive view of the airport, so it's looking more likely this will happen....

The return flight, SQ21 is doing that route right now, as I am typing this it's currently approaching the North Russian coast.... I believe the first A359-900ULR took a similar route on it's delivery flight, heading north from Toulouse instead of heading east.

Essentially the longer range versions are been given a few tweaks and adjustments to the specs to allow them to fly longer distances... With the A350-900ULR one of the tweaks was allowing the fuel tanks to be filled with 24000 litres more fuel and also increased the Max Take Off Weight to allow the extra fuel..... They didn't need to increase the size of the tank because the required extra volume was already built in to the design. Another way of extending the range is lowering the load an aircraft carries, this allows more fuel to be carried. On the Singapore ULRs they are configured so that no cargo can loaded into the front load compartment area.

Some more news on Manchester..... The afternoon flight is being up-gauged to a 777-300ER from 1st of December and 22nd May 2019 Qatar increase from 18 to 21 weekly flights... Sadly the evening flight will still be a 787 Nightmareliner.. Other Qatar news is that DOH - BKK is increasing to 7x Daily.

No doubt, but I was talking about it'll probably be curtains on the production line after the UPS order.... Nowadays Boeing are delivering more 777F than 747-8F.

But how often is the nose door used..... Most cargo doesn't require a nose door...The 777F or future 777XF will probably kill of the 747-8F.... Once UPS take their remaining aircraft on the order book that could be curtains the the -8F

The 747-8i was a failure a a passenger aircraft, so much so that Boeing still have one they never managed to sell, LN1435 which was built for Lufthansa and they never took delivery.... Two others that never got delivered will end up as Air Force Ones.. The 747-8F will still be produced for a while, but for how long?

I'm proof of that also, I've got a scar on my forehead from a slip in the bathroom at the Queen Vic on one of my earliest Pattaya visits!!!
