After reading through that article my understanding is that the MAX is fitted with 2 Angle of Attack sensors, yet only uses one at a time.... That is very poor design from a safety point of view if a safety critical sensor goes faulty.

Lower luggage allowances are definitely a problem if you have a Thai wife..... Mrs Fiend has our cases stuffed full of Thai ingredients when we fly back to the UK....
-
We arrive on a Qatar flight and head up to CNX on Thai, the flights were booked separately... On the return flight I added 10Kg extra baggage and it still worked out cheaper than booking a higher fare class with 30Kg allowance. Don't know when they bought in the 20Kg allowance, but it was after when I booked flights to CNX for October last year as we had the 30Kg allowance then....
-
I bought the tickets on the 20th December 2018 and the website was showing 20Kg then, just like it was when I checked it just now.... Also noticed the price has gone up 1100 Baht since I booked.... There's a Buddha day the weekend we arrive so I expect the flight to CNX will be very busy...
-
Just checked my dates in May for BKK-CNX flights and it's showing 20Kg allowance on the Super Save fare....
-
There'll be a bar crawl in May.....

Boeing failed to inform the airlines about the MCAS system before the Lion Air crash....... you can't train pilots on as system if the airline isn't told about it......
-
Apparently after looking at the satellite data the spotted similarities to the Lion Air crash in changes of altitude prior to the crash. The black box data should confirm it.

You should read what some of the Boeing fanboys come out with on airliners.net. If it's a Boeing plane that's in an accident they throw the blame at anything but Boeing. It's the same with engine manufacturers too.... To them GE engines are the bee's knees and RR are to be despised...

You're a hero Frosty!!!!

And Goldpanner definitely got it wrong..... he didn't even think it would last the first year.... Just goes to show that not everybody wants to use LHR..... I've flown via LHR once and I wouldn't do it again.... I'm spoilt for choice as I've got plenty of choice up North..... MAN, NCL, GLA and EDI all offer connections to BKK via Europe and the Middle East...

Emirates have just announced London Stansted is to go double daily on July 1st 2019 due to increasing demand...... Emirates have certainly proved the doubters wrong!!!

An interesting read.....

G-CIVB has just flown to Dublin to get painted into the final retro livery.... The Negus and Negus version
-
Fresh out of the paint shop about to depart for LHR. https://twitter.com/British_Airways/status/1104310621217144832?s=20

I've seen photos of the next retro repaint... it's a 747 in the Landor livery and it does look good.... G-BNLY It's out of the paint shop and due to fly to BA211 LHR-MIA this afternoon
-
Not impressed with the 747 retro look...... but the BEA scheme on the 319 looks really good.... it suits it!!!

Best SIM Cards for tourists - Update for Feb. 2019?
TheFiend replied to TF_Heinz's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
My AIS SIM picks up the EE network in the UK and have been able to do things like check my balance from the UK. -
Yes there has been a change... On my last couple of trips we've flown up to CNX from BKK with Thai and there was 30Kg allowance. This time when I went through the booking process the 20Kg allowance was showing on when I selected the fare. I took the option off adding 10kg extra as it didn't add much onto the price of the return flight to BKK. TG also allow us to check-in at CNX for our QR flight onwards from BKK even though that booking is separate from our TG booking.
-
A couple of months ago I booked a BKK-CNX flight with Thai and 20Kg allowance was already showing for domestic flights on the cheap tickets...... but since Mrs Fiend loves filling her cases full of Thai ingredients I paid for extra allowance on our return flight from CNX Hopefully Qatar don't do an Emirates/Etihad and drop their baggage allowance down from 30Kg on the cheap tickets!!!

Bump it again and it will get locked...... Looking at you posting history on here it looks like the only reason you've joined this forum is to advertise things you've been struggling to sell on other forums....

Disabled lane / path - A new one for me..........
TheFiend replied to stoace's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
This is the advice given on www.gov.uk I agree it's hardly comparable to the situation in Thailand..... Last year MIL broke her ankle and for a while was using a wheelchair and zimmer frame and even in the few places where there was disabled parking it was always occupied by fully mobile idiots.... -
Disabled lane / path - A new one for me..........
TheFiend replied to stoace's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
There's selfish people all over the world and that's including disabled drivers with blue badge permits.... My local council recently added about 20 parking places for blue badge holders in one of my town centre car parks to encourage blue badge holders not to park on the double yellow lines on the road into the car park..... and the blue badge holders are completely ignoring those parking places set aside for them to park free of charge and they're still parking on the double yellows!!! My fathers got a blue badge and he will only park in disabled bays and he would never deliberately p -
What would I consider huge? Well something like the Emirates order of 150 777X.... As an American (and Boeing fanboy, just like the vast majority of Americans) it must hurt that your company (Delta) orders so many Airbus airframes....
