Mr Toom

Heard many good reports of Mr Toom's service on this board. On the strength of previous recommendations I made a booking with him several weeks ago to meet me at BKK airport on 5 May and transport me to Pattaya.

 

A few days before travelling I emailed Mr Toom for confirmation of the booking. He confirmed that he would be there.

 

He wasn't.

 

I am not saying that makes him an unreliable guy. I just think that if someone is happy to accept bouquets for good service, said person should also be prepared to accept brickbats for poor service.

I think he is getting too big too fast maybe same thing that happened with Alex couple of years ago

It had to happen sometime, unfortunate if you are the one who was let down.

 

It will be interesting to see how he responds to this. If it becomes a habit then he will disappear as quickly as he arrived. Just look at Alex the driver...nobody ever mentions him now.

 

However, the jury is still out on Mr. Toom,

BTW I've got him booked next week to pick me up at the airport. I will let you know how it goes

I had the same problem with another Driver - Arrived and no one was there.

 

It turned out that I took a right turn after leaving Customs and I should have gone left - My mistake, but I think that some one should alert the drivers that this is possible to do, and you should check both arrival areas

On you first trips things like this throw you out ,

I have missed hotel pick ups . good to know what to do if things dont go to plan .

I used Mr. Toom's service last trip and found it to be great. And I was planning on using him again on my next trip but not I am anxious to hear if he was really there waiting for you or not - did you try to call him when you could not find him at the airport?

Yes i did the same last yr.Eventually i walked up the other end and there was my sign.Easy mistake if you havnt been for a few yrs.

not really that easy a mistake to make..considering there are about 200 people waiting to the left compared to around 20 to the right

Ones to the right are usually the tour guides

 

To the left is the private pick up area

I am aware that Mr Toom is saying he was there. He was not. I was in companyat BKK airport with 2 other guys whom I met on arrival. They were both experienced visitors to LOS. They helped me look for Mr Toom. He was not there.

 

There is not a lot more to be said. Mr Toom claims he was there. I am certain he was not. You guys must make up your own minds.

 

I mean no disrespect whatsoever to Mr Toom. However, I believe he let me down.

This is the first bad thing I have heard about Mr Toom and tend to give him the benefit of the doubt. Everyone will have to make up there own minds on this .

I have never been let down yet when booking a taxi,in fact the guy waiting for me always seems to be right at the front with my name on a card.Have booked Mr Toom for when I arrive in a couple of weeks and don't have any worries about a no show.

I don't know why i can't to see you at bkk. a/p after clear imigration and costom you go out arrival hall and turn left or right ? That ok. on friday i have to go pattaya in the mornning and i want to meet you at areca lodge for show parking receive to clear every think

At the end of the day if you did'nt call him then you can't be sure if he was'nt there.

I have used Mr. Toom alot on my last trip and have booked him for ride up to Thep Sathit in July. He was on time EVERY time I used him and was always easy to reach on his cell phone. I have exchanged e-mail with him on other issues relating to LOS as well and he has always responded. I would absolutly give Mr. Toom the benefit of the doubt on this one. Additionally he wants to meet with the man who missed his pick up. I am sure an understanding can be worked out as I believe Mr. Toom is a good man.

Lemons, I thought all passengers arriving at Don Muang (Terminal 1 and Terminal 2) use the same exit? I thought you just had to walk a bit further after your plane arrived near Terminal 2. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I agree, this is the first time I have heard any sort of negative comment of Mr. Tooms service. And will not change my using him in a few weeks.
