Budget hotel near swampy please

Recommended Posts

I'm landing around midnight and have a 21 hour layover before I'm off to AC so I just want a place to crash with WIFI . I'm not really interested in going to Sukhumvit as mostly I will just sleep and maybe go for a walk and get a regular massage. A late checkout will be necessary so I'd prefer a place that wont charge me for a second full day as I'll be checking out at ~ 16:00 tho if it's cheap enough then I guess it doesn't matter. I'd like to keep it under 1500 baht in total.

Thanx in advance

Hi, I stay around Swampy on average about 10-12 times a year. I have stayed in loads of the cheap hotels around there, they are nearly all located in the Lat Krabang area of Bangkok. Check out Agoda, loads of choice.

If you want a more personal recommendation then - I have settled on the Thong Ta resort now for most of my stays, average price around 700-800 baht for a room including airport transfers, worth paying slightly extra for the Superior rooms in the new wing over the Standard rooms IMHO. The WI-FI is adequate not super fast, loads of small Thai street eateries at end of soi, also a 7-11 there, a few bars and massage places all within walking distance. I am there next week. Not too sure about the late check out scenario as I have never had the need to ask them. They have a good transfer service as well from and to Swampy.

I have all their details if you want to contact them direct rather than through Agoda, just drop me a PM.

Best Regards

Fireman Sam

From what I understand, there might be some hotels right in the airport. Maybe it's time we have a list with prices.

Not normally budget with the captive audience...these 2 have been on my computer since it was a mobile phone.

Queen's Garden Resort (shuttle)

02 734 4540-3

Convenient Resort (Lat Krabang)

02 677 6246-7

I've been studying this very topic recently.

Go with Regent Suvoonwanabubum Hotel or Pargon Inn. Both of those are right next the airport and are also right next to a shopping mall.

Let me know your results.

Agoda has several choices as mentioned and some provide transportation at a price of ~1k baht.

yeah, but I prefer real reports rather than internet whatever.

I’ve got in very late a few times (2am) and stayed at the Great Residence which is only a 10 minute ride from Swampy rather than get a taxi down to Pattaya, basic, safe, Quiet and clean and only 600 baht + free pick up, breakfast is 100 baht and return to the Airport the following morning is 150 baht were I get the Bell bus.

Booked on agoda and never a problem, you will get offered “Company” by the bell boys but never taken them up on it, get in 2am, up at 9am, SSS, then breakfast and bus back to the airport to pick up the Bell bus.

they have WiFi but i never bothered, just sleep, ate, then back to the Airport, there are a few bars/restaurants just down the road as well but cannot comment on what there like.

Queens Garden was actually ok tho I'd never recommend a stay more than overnight. The bellhop offered a girl for 3,000 but I declined his generous offer.

Maybe you can elaborate little ... mainly why is it not ok for a 3 or 4 night stay?

There isn't anything nearby AFAIK. It is at the very end of a dead end street near a hwy exit and you'll need a taxi to go anywhere.

excellent point, many seem to offer only one way 'free' transfer. Nanaq Plaza to airport is around 500 baht. you need a calculator to keep things straigrt.

I always stay at the Queens Garden Resort over night with the missus, to break our journey on our way back to Australia. Like steamer said, there is nothing of interest nearby, other than food stalls and a 7/11. The hotel is nice and clean, but I would not want to stay more than one night either. On our last trip we paid ThB1000 for one night.
