A Few shots from this afternoon

This morning we both woke up early and i was sat on my balcony wondering on what to do again, this seams to happen more often than not..

 

so after asking puang what she would like to do and waiting for any ideas, but nothing came to light as the norm so i decided to have a day fishing.

 

Now i've always wanted to catch a large carp in thailand so this was the plan, they are not easy to catch and i would say it would be 95% skill and the place i go is not the Pattaya catfish parks where you will catch around 10 per hour.

 

i have got my own fishing tackle here from the uk i did bit by bit over the last few years, so we loaded up the truck and spent 6 hours there and it was roasting.

 

i had an handful of bites all day but managed to catch one and lost a few.

 

then on the way home we had a drive around pattaya to show you guys pattaya's songkran

Great photos, we stayed dry inside our room till 8pm then out for dinner. Filipina GF looked at your pics and said "glad we stayed inside yesterday...we do the same today"

Seems like a shame to have a holiday in Pattaya and then stay trapped inside your room for a week or more.

its nothing like that its mainly in the main soi's i.e soi diana the odd part of soi buahkau soi 6,7,8, and a few other soi's..

 

i've just had a drive around town and i didn't get wet.....

yes i fish for carp as I'm not into fishing the tourist parks for the cat fish, i just seams to get fed up of them and there's no challenge.

 

you do need some skill to target the carp and i would say you would need some tackle from the uk.

 

flavoured pellet paste, spam, sweet corn works well with little ground bait.

 

i use bait runners just as i would in the uk but the set up is not the same.

 

Bait bags would be good here but i can't get them so i tend to ball it up on a spring feeder then add my baited hook to it.

 

everyone seams to fish in the middle, i don't i fish on the edge maybe 3 to 6 foot away using a very small maker float like you would fish for tench.

 

i picked up a few 6 foot rods from ebay that i use on the sea and ponds and it works well.
