On my last trip to Pattaya, I used Mr. T's car service for both incoming and outgoing transport to the airport. The outgoing trip was a nightmare. The driver was very unsafe and completely fell asleep three times during the trip. I finally got him to stop at the 7-11 and bought him a high energy drink and that helped. At least we made it to the airport without a serious accident.

Does anyone know of a driver and/or car service that is safe and reliable? I am coming soon and would like to book with someone who is safe and drives a decent automobile.

Thanks in advance.

Gabor, is he someone you use regularly and can recommend? If so then I'll pass the link on to a mate who's heading out on the 16th.

I use him already 3-4, maybe 5 years, order from him yearly 20-25 car ( for friends, customers etc ) and never any problems, very nice car park....everybody was happy with their services....they even can send me smoking car too...

If you are on the FB

Send a message and he will reply within 5-10 minutes.

Do you get a kick back from him?

From a mobile

Sadly not.... not even a discount for myself :uh-uh: ....

One time I used the limo service inside the airport for the trip to Pattaya. Relatively expensive, but it was one of the safest rides I ever had. Some old guy driving a weird looking "limo." No sure what kind of car it was, but it was almost new. Anyway, he was the safest driver I ever encountered in Thailand. And very polite.

My other taxi rides weren't too memorable one way or the other.

Does this company require pre-payment? I know that "thailimo.com" used to. Usually once you use a company they won't require funds in advance, but the first time they might.

In my experience, they do not require prepayment.

As I noted in the thread Atlas2 mentioned, I have been using Nam from namnamthailand@gmail.com for most if my recent trips to BKK and back. I am dealing with a health issue that prevents me from driving, but requires frequent trips to BKK.

I have found her consistently reliable, and driving safely, not speeding, not incessantly overtaking left and right, just steady.

On two recent occasions, she could not take me back from BKK to Pattaya, once because my schedule changed, once because a late arrival of another customer at the airport, combined by heavy traffic delayed her return, and I said "don't worry, I'll grab a taxi here in BKK.

Both those trips were nightmares, male adreniline hyped cowboys, up to 150 km/h in rattly old cabs, ignoring my requests to slow down, overtaking by cutting right in front if other cars, bumper hugging the cars in front, just terrifying.

I will use her from now on each time, or if not available, find another service with woman drivers only. Life us too short to waste in a car crash...

Nam will usually get back to you almost instantly, or within a few hours, ask you the relevant questions, check her online map or her GPS for the correct location and the best driving route, put your booking into her diary on iCloud, and if it is a forward booking, check with you a day ir two before if everything is still on schedule.

She is a one woman band, which means that sometimes, she will be booked, but if you book her, she will be the driver, she won't pass you on to anyone else. If she cannot drive you, she often will recommend ine of the other lady drivers..

Thanks to everyone who replied. I have written to Nam to see is she is available next Thursday. If she is unavailable, then I will opt for the recommendation from Gabor. I am appreciative to have all of these recommendations as I was quite concerned about the bad experience I had last year with Mr. T. I hope to never have to use Mr. T's service again.

I used Nam for both the inbound and outbount trips to the airport. She was just terrific. A really nice person, a great car (new), speaks passable english, and, best of all a really safe driver. I felt completely comfortable with her at the wheel and not once did I feel uncomfortable. Which is more than I can say about the last driver I had from Mr. T.

I hope she will be available for future trips.

Thank you for that endorsement!

She has been back driving now for three months, and has settled in well. She's ironed out a few issues that occurred in the first few weeks, limiting herself to not more bookings then she can handle in terms of her own energy.

She's happy driving, and proud on the reputation she is developing in the mongerers community, for being safe, reliable and prompt in her response to enquiries.

The job change has meant a major life change for her, and she thanks all of you guys out there that have supported her by using her service.

For those who want to contact her, initial contact via email, once you confirmed a booking she will send you her Mobile number.

Booked Nams Taxis yesterday, on behalf of a friend for a pickup Areca Lodge to Swampy. No show! Will not give a contact number in case of this eventuality and doesn't reply to her emails promptly.

A no show is the cardinal sin for a taxi company and being unable to contact the company compounds the problem.

Would not recommend this company.

Hi dudey....

3 posts in total ever from you......all exactly the same as the one above.....and in three different taxi based threads. Very efficient for a new member of the board.

I think it's clear you have strong feeling about this. Fair enough. But answer in your next 3 posts and in the same three threads the questions Yorta asked you.

Then we can discuss the in-and-outs of this with and form a better understanding of who's at fault.

I've used Nams Taxis twice. I received prompt emails with telephone numbers and they turned up on time both times. Very satisfied with the service. Just to balance your view  .

Dudey, I have removed one of your 3 posts on this matter. I will leave the 2 others but may we keep the discussion within the other thread, specific to Nam's Service, here.

Thanks.
