They do a nice vfm breakfast too

If you were replying to me then that's affirmative. I ordered an omelet and an orange juice. My friend had the big breakfast, 2 eggs bacon etc with a coffee. We both asked for more drinks and they were given. Bins, 100฿ Each. Seems drink top ups were free.. The place is always reasonably busy.

The Irish Wolfhound about 50m down on Soi 4 Pratamnak has some cheap meals and they are quite good. It's a bit out of the way from where you guys are staying but maybe it might intersest some people.

I had a pork chop with mash, peas and gravy a couple of days ago. It was180฿ But the pork chop covered half of the large plate. I'll check out some others on their menu.

Is that near the Thappraya baht bus route ?

Soi 4 is probably about 5 minutes walk from the traffic lights at the junction of Thappraya Road and Pratumnak. There are motorbikes around if you don't fancy the walk.

There used to be a great Pie & Mash place very near to walking street, opened by some UK lads. Sadly gone now.

What Pattaya needs is a Jellied Eel and Winkle stall. REAL food !!Maybe some decent beer too and not girly Lager piss.

The place next to Little India (next to Cherry Bar) in the arcade says Jellied Eels on the window - although we're from the north and don't know what they are, we can understand cravings of the "food from home" variety.

If that is what you are after I am surprised you bother to get on a plane.

Plenty of places to get Pie and Mash in town, jellied eels, well, I haven't seen them on any menus of late.

And I would not be ordering them if I had.

There used to be somewhere on Walking Street advertising Jelly Fish on their menu. (It might even have been the Lobster Pot) Curiosity got the better of me, and they turned out to be what I assume to be jellied eels, they were definitely some kind of eel anyway, and ended up in a doggy (or pussy) bag  for the bar cat! Cockney fodder , yeuk ! :P

No... it probably was really Jelly fish... it is an Asian dish (see link)... usually served as a cold appetizer....

No, these were definitely eels, but that link you posted looks even more repulsive to me! :puke :bhappy

  • 8 months later...

I ate at Cafe Pittini a number of times in May and found the meals to be excellent and very good value.

I was in Cafe Pittini a few days ago. The meals are delicious and quite reasonably priced. Nice decor and some friendly staff.

Unfortunately the air-con is set to Thai preferences and the staff got their noses out of joint when I asked them to crank up the AC. Won't eat there anymore on that account.

Just spotted this thread and thought "I'll give that a look" then realised I started it.

Bought a plane ticket yesterday so tastebuds awake again. Eat-out food prices are crazy in France......even for stuff you can make at home. For stuff you can't make double-it.

Keeping you in suspenders on that one.....

Only (relatively few) unlucky women have to suffer that ;-)
