Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

Hi Gus yes i have stayed at Bay Breeze since it was revamped but IMHO it is a bit over piced now. The pool is the same old one but along with the rooms has been revamped as well with a couple of water fountains, new tiles/grout etc... It is not huge but I used it several times on my stay with no problem Kev

Maybe move to battles and arguments section.

Line is great for video calls from Oz to Thailand but you need to have WIFI or an internet connection available, and yes it is free.

If staying in Bangkok take them to the anicient Siam place (copies of all major temples in Thailand) and should be done in a full day. Another attraction in Bangkok is the Bangkok water park has a big wave pool and several amusement style rides (including one rollercoaster ride I would not dream of going on - YIKES)! Didn't really like Chiang Mai when we went in March this year, shopping not really that cheap and the tourist attractions are all over prices as well IMHO.

OK thanks for the advice gents, looks like I might keep my Nokia just to use for maps while on holidays in Thailand.
-
Hello All, Have just purchased a new Samsung Galaxy mini (first Android phone for myself) and I used to have the Nokia N8 OVI maps for Thailand which were excellent as far as I was conerned, never got lost. My question is with the new phone I think Google maps are pretty crappy, anyone got any suggestions for recommened android navigation maps download for Thailand please (and preferably free). I use Navigon for Australia and New Zealand, which are good but they have nothing for Thailand. Thanks in advance, Kev

Bicycle as a primary method of transportation
Kev replied to simplelife's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Hey Glitterman used to ride in Pattaya on a regular basis and he was quite sane -
Just bought the phone above, pretty nifty and the S Translator I think is pretty cool except I'm told it doesn't do Thai translation. Anyone know if I bring it to Thailand when on holidays they might be able to put a Thai (talking) translator on it for me? Or perhaps someone have a link to where I can install one please? Thanks in advance, Kev

Yep agree Yankee99 lack of demand probably the main reason as every Aussie and his dog probably owns a BBQ. Yours are a good price (for Thailand) and good quality.
-
Nice BBQs but for me I always wonder why the prices of these are so high in Thailand, in Australia you can buy a good quality 4 burner for about $350 AUD (approx 10,000 bahts) or a 6 burner for about $400 - $450 AUD (approx 12,000 bahts). Anyone know why they are so expensive over there?

We are over on holidays this year for Songkran but fortunately will be up in the village in Chaiyaphum where celebrations are much more subdued than Pattaya. Still have to take the hearing aid off in case it gets wet but up in the boonies doesn't matter, no-one speaks English anyway.

UPDATE- Sizzler at Central Festival Mall
Kev replied to Evil Penevil's topic in Restaurants and food
Thanks for the excellent review Evil. About 2 years ago I took a friend to Sizzlers in Korat (he had been working in Chaiyaphum as a teacher for about 5 years). There was 4 of us, myself I'm from Oz land and I have to say the steaks were very nice and the salad bar as you say has everything. One thing I liked was the wine (Aussie) was reasonably priced and nice. Anyway my mate who hadn't had a decent steak for who knows how long was just drooling at the mouth with every mouthful. Our two wives loved the food as well. From memory I was impressed with the price and had no qualms. I w
