  1. Sounds like you had better get the home brew kits out of the cupboards gents
  2. Stayed at AA last month with the better half as our regular hotel was full. Room was 1,000 bahts a night but gotta say the sheets, towels etc were pretty thread bare. Nothing special at that price and next time will be booking our regular hotel in advance, which is comparable if not slightly better at a much cheaper rate. I'm sure you can find better hotels around Soi 13 for 1,000 a night. Kev
  3. Gents I will be flying out this Sunday so thankfully I can watch the Mighty Eagles beat the Cats at home, but grand final weekend I will be in Hua Hin. Anyone know a good bar down there to watch the GF please? First time in Hua Hin so I don't know the place but I am staying at the Sirin Hotel. Thanks in advance, Kev
  4. Hi Mick, Nice looking bus indeed, you don't know if that passes through or stops at Chaiyaphum on the way to Pattaya for more passengers? Also is that one at night time? CHeers, Kev
  5. I have flown with Thai Air many times from Australia and quite a few of those times, my wife's and my suitcases were close to the 30kg weight, no extra charge. They say 20kg limit but I have never been charged excess baggage with Thai and my wife and others are adamant that the unoffical limit is 30kg.
  6. Teelack, Did you leave a zero off that price? 1,000 bahts for a touch phone is bloody cheap, more like 10,000. Also what type of phone is it? Myself (and you if you are in OZ) I have a Nolia N8 on the Optus $29 plan, good deal, I never go over the $180 inlcuded calls and the 200MB data limit. For overseas calls I use the Lebara mobile card (in old mobile), which was recommened on here and is a bloody good deal.
  7. Sorry the Eagles, Geelong or Collingwood aren't on the list??
  8. I agree bank transfers the way to go, especailly when sending a few bob (dollars). Just make sure you send in original currency and let the Thai bank do the currency conversion, not the home bank otherwise you will get ripped off on the excahnge rate.
  9. Just to add to the confusion we call them spas here in Australia.
  10. mm not bad, pretty cool actually. My tick of approval
  11. I just checked Malaysian for airfares from Perth (Nnov) as they have specials over here for $530, but once doing the pretend booking that price does not included taxes and it is more like $900 return. No thanks rather pay a little bit extra and fly Thai direct.
  12. Well looks like you got the banner and logo probs sorted out MM. Good stuff, I find the new board OK myself.
  13. sorry Lovedog my mate did the negotiating with one of the boats just down from Mikes on the beach, but that was defo the price becuase there were 3 farangs and we chipped in 1,000 each for our share.
  14. last year we hired one and it was 3,000 bahts from memory and he hanged around all day and took us back in the arvo. There was about 10 or 11 in our group. Kev
  15. Don't worry about lemon face he is always a sticker for accuracy down to the last 10 decimal points
  16. One time I had a intermittent problem with recording CDs/DVDs, turns out that a mate of mine found that I had a corrupt CD driver. So maybe reinstall your CD/DVD driver.
  17. the number of "cousins" that appear out of the woodwork when we go over to the village on holidays!
  18. Good on you Mick, so you must have recently turned 55 or is it 50??
  19. I thought the MMs Ex's name was PIN not PING
  20. Pity about the bloody awful dog collar you make poor Dave wear, if I had to wear it I would bum cats too
