That was a great report and whilst I am rarely jealous of other peoples travel, what you did, I would love to do. I did travel by air to Luang Prabang and Vientiane and loved the experience but quite clearly to see the area properly a car is really needed.

To the best of my knowledge you cannot fly from Utapou to Cambodia. Suggest that you Google Bangkok to Phnom Pehn. Get the Bell Bus to Swampy, 250 Baht and then you have the choice of Air Asia, Thai and Bangkok to select from. There may be other airlines in transit from overseas that will take you. I have always used Air Asia and booked early and the rate is very reasonable.

As stated, that last pix is a winner. Thanks for the effort.

As usual a startling insight into the inner workings of Pattaya and a troubled mind! Always appreciated.

Don't get me going! The prices for Thai Air (the only direct flight out of NZ to Bangkok) are sky high way into this year. Its about the same distance as LHR but all January the price has been almost $2200 or about eleven hundred pounds sterling. Mi year its $1750 so I may have to go back to Qantas or risk waiting for specials.

Thanks Evil. I had only one meal there and it is the place to go if you are hungry and perhaps looking to eat on the cheap. I had the fish and chips and whilst it was similar to what you will get at the PBG in taste and texture but double the size. It has its place in the Pattaya scenery.

Worth a watch. Thanks

Thanks Ikkrang. I appreciate the comments and also think that this lady should make a good living as long as she gets positive reviews. I will look at the web site when it is ready however I may take a bit of weaning off my current outfit who are reliable and 1000 baht!

"One More?" beer and sports bar.

Thanks for the photos. Some great smiles there. Is there a pix here of the boss (Richard I believe)? Its always handy to be able to introduce oneself. -
Thank you gents. Looks like this will cover my annual subscription to Pattayatalk!

I was enjoying my Pirate Bay down loads but it has now been off the air for a while. I would be obliged if anyone has any other options that they would recommend. I did try but some of the programmes from a Google search but the ones that I selected were either blocked by my virus checker or in one case filled my computer with all sorts of other software and junk.

Just to add to the plum pudding saga. When I was at school it was traditional to serve Plum Pudding at the end of the year meal. These always had coins wrapped in grease proof paper. Making the pudding at home and adding the coins was alsoa great tradition. As far as I am aware no one choked on them but I guess it must have happened.

Geez, dont tell me that the Americans don't eat Christmas Pudding as well and having never heard of Christmas Crackers? I will not be emigrating!
-
Thanks for explaining this Atlas and the picture. We did a count up prior to Christmas and found that we had almost 200 of the things as it is as traditional as plum pudding in my neck of the woods. Imagine the fortune to be made in the USA when someone gets around to launching them!

On Christmas day we did the normal things and this includes popping lots of crackers. My pretty smart grand daughter gets to read out the jokes and sees this as one of the fun parts of the celebration. There was one however that stopped us all short and the little one asked for help. You decide if this isn't the worst cracker joke ever. Q. Two hydrogen atoms meet. One says "I've lost my electron" The other says "Are you sure?" A. The first replies"Yes, I'm positive."
-
Oh no you didn't!

This topic is one that keeps on giving (like a good present). Reading it afresh made me realise that the thread is and was funnier that the joke. We are all winners here.

"One More?" beer and sports bar.

You make an interesting point about the food. I would visit the Triangle Bar when they had the little snack bar attached. I enjoy a snack with a few beers before heading off into the night and this suited me fine. When the food side closed I simply found a new place. As a side issue to this because it is in the same area I enjoyed the daily 99 baht snack at The Booze Lounge. Its just enough to keep me relatively sober but not enough to stop me drinking. -

Following on from MM's comment. I wonder what sort of USP (Unique Selling Proposition) you can come up with in order to keep people coming back. The only reason that I populate beer bars is because of some special reason and like many I keep returning over the years. I rarely go to other than the Cherry Bar because over the years Adam and the team have constantly found ways to make the experience worth while. In a town with a thousand bars it takes some work. If all that is on offer is the same as everywhere else there really is little reason to go or to return. Please don't feel that I am being hard on you--I am trying to be helpful and its interesting to walk around the town and see the crowded bars and the empty one and work out, why? -
Thanks. Good info

Thanks. I thought that it was Malware bytes so that is another door closed.

I have to concede that I need to have Chrome to access Pattayatalk. I do however have a problem with it. I am constantly having to un-install and re-install it because it become unresponsive. I somehow feel that the problem might be caused by one of the malware or virus programmes that I run deleting PUPs or cookies. Has anyone got any ideas on this issue?

I hope that the bar takes off. I have tried to get into this complex but the one time I tried I found myself in the middle of a fight and lost interest. -
Geez Shilo! Thanks for that table. It is an eye opener. As a matter of interest last night I checked on my February flight with Thai Air to see if it had gone down. Shock and horror! It had increased by 50% since I booked last month!

Thanks as usual for the update of the goings on in Sin City and a Christmas and New Year wish that you keep on going.
