Forum Software upgraded today

The forum software was upgraded tonight while I was out on a gogo bar crawl.

 

I've not had a chance to get into the details of the upgrade, but it is different.

 

I think it's quite likely it's better as well.

 

Pay close attention to buttons, small link thingies, and the main page side bar. They can help you filter and locate things of interest.

Martin the board looks like this to me , ive tried changin skins and that , surley its not ment to look this way

I REALLY hate the new look, with blank avatars half the size of the screen and spacing like a pre-kindergarten book. I can't figure out how to make it look even half decent, every theme/skin is about the same.

It's natural to be scared of change. In a few weeks no one will even notice that it's changed.

Sam, I said that about several previous upgrades. But this is a change, pictures for text. That will always be noticed. Of course a skin could fix it, probably, so we'll, er, see.

For me, not an UPgrade but a DOWNgrade. Trying to read the forum on my not-so-smart phone is now a nightmare.

Ive noticed any pics posted are not re-sized and it looks the same with avatars , its causing everything to be squashed up

The forum has a lot of teething problems at the minute which is to be expected, the software has only been installed tonight. Not everthing seems to appear in the "view new content" option? I know for a fact threads have been posted in by they don't appear on the list? It doesn't even look like you have the option to change your avatar either? What's going on Mr MM?

What skin (theme) are you using?

 

Invision sneaked the upgrade in on me without warning. I sent then a message asking when they were doing the upgrade, and they sent me a message saying "it's already done".

 

Will straighten things out tomorrow after a nights sleep.

 

Anyway let me know the skin/theme you are seeing this stuff on.

Yep hate to say it but looks like crap to me, with need a fair bit of fixing up I believe.

 

Like someone said a downgradfe not an upgrade.

 

Tried the paradox skin but screen doesn't fit.

 

So back to PT skin but like said above evrything bloody huge.

I'm not seeing this stuff.

After the last upgrade, if you hit a thread which had come up from "View New Posts", it took you to the last entry you had read. Now we are back to it showing the first entry in the thread.

 

Also, on my 'phone, there is now no listing of pages. So, for example, on Chivas's post which is some 27 pages long, I have to start at the first page in order to get to the entry on the 27th.

The new format seems to waste an awful lot of space on the screen.

An inch of space on the left and right side is just a blue bar. Complete waste of screen realestate.

 

I think the default skin needs to be changed. Is there a "classic" mode somewhere?

 

I agree with everyone else. This look sucks!!

At the bottom of the screen, click on CHANGE THEME.

 

Choose IP.Board if you are running on a PC.

 

Choose IP.Board Mobile if running on a mobile.

 

See if that helps.
