Dicey Reilly's Pub & Eatery @ 218 M.10 2nd Road (Between Royal Garden & Central Festival Mall)

http://www.diceyspub.com/

I was near here on a Monday, I was craving a burger (tired of McDonald's and fast food) and I noticed a special..

Cheeseburger, fries and a glass of beer or soda for 199 Baht

Gave it a try, it was very tasty and the best one I have had in a long time

The beef was excellent and I didn't get that "fizzle" as I do from other burgers at certain places

Good choice on a Monday or any other day, if you get a craving

Its right next to the entrance to the Marriot on 2nd Road. Tried it once years ago and was disappointed. Never been back since, but maybe I will give it another try.

Im curious, why has there been a negative vote on this post?

Yes, only 3 visitors between you and the post before mine.

Kev, jimbowx, Evil Penevil,....?

I thought I was being helpful!

If it turn out to be me, it's a fat-finger error. I wasn't intending to vote at all, but had my screen split in two for surfing while playing a game on the other half. May have clicked on the wrong part of the screen. If so, I'll give you a green on another post to make up for it.

Sorry if it's me.

Yup, dodgy Internet connection as well.

Anyway, Dicey Reilly's is between The Avenue (mall) and the Royal Garden on 2nd Road. I believe it is between Soi 13/1 and 13/2.

No, actually, further South. Not between Soi Yamoto and Soi Post Office. Between Soi Post office (13/2) and Pattayaland 1 (13/3).

Original Shenanigans location, but that's probably not helpful to many.

Last ate at Dicey Riley's for their Thanksgiving buffet several years ago and it was quite good.

I've walked by the place a million times during the day, but it always looked like there wasn't much going on inside. Or maybe it just seemed that way. Anyway, I guess the prices must be fairly high, given its proximity to the Marriott.

Well you could say that about Sizzlers!

It is NOT the old shananigans. That became Acorn that failed. Dicey is actually a part of Marriott.

The only burger I like better is Tavern by the Sea on Beach Road.

It's the same location and building as Shenanigans, isn't it?

That spot has been through at least 3 name changes...I can't recall the one(s) between Shenanigan's and Dicey at this moment though. Was it some name that had the word "Moore" in it?

I just found out last night that (I was told) Tavern By the Sea was the old Henry J. Beans building. True?

Shenanigans was in that location before it moved to the Avenue (up the steps).

The Avenue spot later became Acorn.

When it was on the Beach side of 2nd it was a great Sunday carvery.

MM.. My original post is correct in reference to The Avenue site of Shenanigan' which was there as far back as I've been staying at the Marriott (2010). I didn't know Shenanigan's was at the Dicey site before it moved to The Avenue (learn something everyday on here!). I used to eat at Shenanigans over at The Avenue (upstairs) quite a bit until it went under. It became Acorn after a short while, but that didn't last long. I saw last month that the Acorn sign is still up there, but the place is still closed.

Tavern is either the Old Jim Bean or next to it. My memory is fading on which of those two buildings was Jim Beam. Either way, it's just north of Soi 1 on Beach Road. Tavern is linked to the Amari, just as Dicey's is part of Marriott.

oh, statman, that's where my confusion came in. Shenanigan's was in the Dicey Riley location at least a decade ago and then it became...Dinty Moore(?) or something like that, and then ... and then....Dicey Riley..the location has seen lots of changes.

FYI, Shenanigan's, or a descendant of it with the same name, is now in Jomtien.

The Shenanigans in Jomtien has been there for years. As far as I am aware it was a sister bar of the Pattaya branch. Not sure which one opened first, I seem to remember someone telling me that the Jomtien bar opened first but wouldn't put money on it.

No, the one in Pattaya, on the now Dicey Reillys location, opened well before the Jomtiem one.

There was initially a Shenanigans in town under the Marriott, which then moved across the road and then expanded resulting in another Shenanigans this time in Jomtien.
