With an attitude never give up

Yesterday, I saw an older gentleman walking along Beach Road who had a bit of a limp. As I got closer, I saw why. He had a prosthetic leg. Correction, he had two prosthetic legs. :chogdee :thumbup :bow He was wearing a t-shirt with something about "FOUR FEET." I suspect that referred to his height without the prostheses.

Fantastic that some have a sense of humour about their own deficiencies or disabilities.

I talked with one English guy a few times in The old Las Vegas A-Go-Go, on Soi Post office, now called Nevada, who was getting on with his life nevertheless. I believe he had a beer bar in the next street (soi Yamoto), called 'The Legless Arms'.

Whenever I see folks getting around Pattaya in wheelchairs I have so much admiration for their guts. I have enough problems just walking around here with the broken/uneven surfaces, blocked access etc. I dont know how they do it....gutsy guys. !

Yes, I have often thought the same, particularly when I see them crossing Second Road.

You make a good point and to add to that I wonder if Pattaya is the perfect place for a holiday for disabled people? Sure, I don't mean the pot holes and the lack of pavements but I have seen the girls do all that they can in gogo clubs to make people in wheelchairs comfortable and at ease. While it is easy to criticise the girls for having an indifferent attitude compared with days past, I have seen some really happy guys taken out of their confined world.

Posted it before that I once saw a disable guy in his vehicle coming down a Pattaya street with a laughing Thai tart in front of him and thought great place isn't it! Like you seen them having a ball in a GGB an the girls make him feel 'unconfined'....

I think if you don't have a sense of humor the despair might ruin you.

Life throws us many curves. We get blind sided. Gotta keep keeping on.

We have a hasher that joins us on some of our hash runs which are in the jungle and fields outside of Pattaya. This particular hasher lost a leg years ago in a climbing accident, but still gets out and joins us on the trails. And as is customary with the hash, you're given a nickname once we get to know you. In this case many suggestions were shouted out, but the one that stuck was International House Of Pancakes or IHOP for short. All had a good laugh over the nickname, including the recipient.
