Self-serve laundry places have been popping up all around Pattaya in the last couple of years. I remember someone saying years ago they're one of the most profitable businesses. This is a new one going up in the parking area for the Tue/Fri Buakhao Market.

Not as big as the one on Aurontai though.

The one in front of North point did a good business, Never really understood since I would leave my bag at reception and back the next day 300 baht.  My wife was pushing for me to put some coin machines on our front patio, said they are profitable. Told her no I didn't want people hanging around.  Told her If she wanted a business then setup a small bar on the patio with girls in Bikinis. She told me no she didn't want people hanging around.

Since I had the drone out this morning, thought it'd be a good opportunity to get some shots of the large construction site on Pattaya Tai up near Sukhumvit.

Seeing shit like this makes me wonder if one of the requirements to be a sparky in Thailand is to have most of one's brains removed. Same for the supervisors that should be inspecting and red flagging hazards like this.

If it's raining out, always, always give any kind of metal utility pole a wide berth.

in fairness the wire does appear insulated.  When building the house upcountry I wanted to see the electrical work, insulation,conduits, breakers and connections before they were concealed behind the wall. Joking aside, a few years back a young Japanese fellow died simply leaning against a light pole on Bali Hai pier.

We ventured into the abyss on NYE for a change. Stayed in the OZO hotel only place I could find through some connections at a late notice. Quite enjoyed it but that’s it for a couple of years it’s amazing how many people actually flock here I think it’s got to be one of the busiest places on the planet.

This place on soi 15 has been closed down... by a court order from the USA, stamped a certified copy by a Mr O'Toole. If it was the 1st April I would find it more credible.

 

Said notice on the door... what on Earth is going on and how does this jurisdiction extend so far?

 

The little kiosk massage places one sees in the Avenue....my mind is like a sewer, but I have often wondered whether the curtain ever gets pulled across fully!

 

As all know, one of my major hates. This is the pavement on Sai 2, wow, a pedestrian pavement! And no food carts in the way. Perhaps not in good enough a condition for them. Certainly not fit for the substantial foot traffic there is around this time of year. Beware, with the strong sun in your eyes, a business generation scheme for the nearby Memorial Hospital perhaps?

 

Sunday lunch, very busy at the Big-CX food court. Why on earth is the only Bangkok Bank ATM in the Mall out of order and has been so for a month plus now? It is a relatively  new machine. First they closed their branch, and now they don't even maintain an ATM. (New Branch and ATMs just up Klang before you get to Foodland, but that is not the point).
