Will cyclists stick to the cycle lane?

That's a non-standard marking for a bike lane. Were there signs identifying i as a bike lane? I hope they added grit to the paint as otherwise it's going to be damn slippery when wet.

@forcebwithu Sorted overnight to ensure your smooth cycle ride.

A new feature has recently appeared on Photoshop Beta called 'find distractions.'  Essentially with one click of the mouse one can remove wires and cables from a photograph as I have done above.  Simi

Beach Road

That looks like asphalt to me.   I don't think I've ever seen asphalt in Thailand.   It has always been concrete.   The nice thing about asphalt is that when it starts getting ruts you just scoop it up, reprocess it, and lay it back down in the same place.

Don't fall into the same trap as me and forget what topic you're looking at pictures in. See my post two posts above yours. B)

I am not sure which image I used;  here is a before and after from the session this afternoon.

Wow! Technology has come a long way!

I actually was there last month and went to the massage shop next to blow several times. Wanted to give them some business seeing how that road construction probably hurt business for a while.

Tum Masage is one of the better shops in Pattaya. Nicely done out inside and the oil massage beds are seperated by wood walls rather than curtains.

AI has now invaded the music world.

‘The only thing we can’t do is sign autographs’: The rise of virtual K-pop bands

In the music video for their latest single “DTDTGMGN,” members of South Korean band Eternity dance in perfect time to a bubblegum pop beat in a neon pink room decorated with school uniforms and celebrity posters. The dizzying camera movements and quick-paced scene changes are typical of the K-pop genre that has become a global phenomenon in recent years.

“Hold me tight, lean on my shoulder,” one member sings.

But the group’s fans cannot do either of those things, physically speaking — because none of Eternity’s 11 bandmates are real.

Built using AI technology, Eternity is one of the latest South Korean acts pushing the boundary between real and virtual entertainment. And the group’s creator and management company, Pulse9, believes that computer-generated stars have a significant edge over their real-life counterparts.

As with most popular K-pop groups, Eternity’s members include a group leader, vocalists, rappers and dancers. But one member in particular, Zae-in, can do it all. “Zae-in has (a combination of) characteristics that most human artists would be hard-stretched to pull off,” said the firm’s CEO Park Ji-eun. “She can sing very well, rap very well and she can be creative as a (fashion) designer. And she’s a natural-born actress.”

With the help of real-time face-swapping technology and an AI-generated voice, Zae-in is played by 10 different people, including actors, singers and dancers, who lend their talents to her avatar as needed. In one video posted on Zae-in’s Instagram account, for example, she deftly rides a longboard beside Seoul’s Han River. For the video, her creators filmed the stunt with a stand-in whose face was later swapped out for Zae-in.

“There is the pop music Zae-in, actress Zae-in, reporter Zae-in,” the virtual star told CNN in a Zoom interview, during which she was played by an actor (though Pulse9 said that its AI software can recreate Zae-in’s voice and generate speech without human input). “Various Zae-ins exist, so our unique advantage is that we can do what one person cannot.”

It's all getting a bit big brother...... I saw some news items where it was claimed AI could be so good it could generate images, video and audio content that matched a person exactly... and this had been used to extort money by creating kidnap or have a 'desperately in trouble, please send money' scenario.

Yes, it could be badly misused. The implications for a 'big brother' type surveillance is also pretty scary.

This AI girl has 100,000+ followers! Imagine the money her followers could send her.

Here some boys 14 to 16 years old got girls in their home town (of a few hundred people) to send them fully clothed  photos. They then used AI to produce nude photos and pornographic photos. They then blackmailed the girl's families into giving them money or they would release the photos on Facebook and other sites.

They may have blackmailed some of the girls into sexual acts.

I think the girls were between 12 and 16 years old.

That's a pretty sick mind to do that to anyone, let alone a minor.

^^^ Pretty good except for the missing thumb.

Why AI image-generators are bad at drawing hands

AI-generated software has not been able to fully understand what the word “hand” means, she said, making the body part difficult to render. Hands come in many shapes, sizes and forms, and the pictures in training data sets are often more focused on faces, she said. If hands are depicted, they are often folded or gesturing, offering a mutated glimpse of the body part.
