I recall staying there while I was working in Laem Chabang, this must have been around late 1990s. I had to move out for a spell as it was fully booked and I ended up in the Dusit. Two hotels that have been around a long time. It was a bit strict to bring girls back if I recall, although doable. To be honest there was nothing special about the rooms back then. Extensive space around the place, the pool area at the Beach side and gardens, parking and tennis courts at the rear. Will this become another of those places where rooms are around 5000 baht as Pattaya slides away from the mongers?

3600 baht for 25 shots, cheaper than Babydolls! Something different, but a lot of money for a short time of entertainment. The safety aspect is important, there have been a few incidences of the lovelorn turning the gun on themselves.

Pool Hustler rents motorcycles/scooters out, contact him. Although min 200cc is an odd request. Mostly 125cc or 150cc here. There are Forza and XMax types at 300cc but you don't see many for rent. Big bikes can be rented off the Beach rd. Scooters are all over the place, a copy of passport and an International Driving Permit required.

The other end of it is that Biz, with the main carriers, is quite a high standard these days but also a high price to pay. Obviously the market seems to uphold this price.They have made Economy so cheap, and let us be honest, so crap, that anybody older, richer, less physically fit is not keen, or maybe able, to stand up to 12+ hours of it. I don't know how full the expensive front end is these days, I wanted to book Emirates and sit up front on the A380 last year, far too expensive. Now the A380 will stop production in 2 years, that level of comfort will perhaps vanish. I just booked a mid-range flight, not a budget carrier. I booked Economy, Biz would have been 4x the price, and it wasn't especially cheap at the back. That's Thai for you. I hope this 777-X is not as bad as the uncomfortable and noisy 777-200 ER I last flew on.

Well personally won't be sat on a lounger near that end, it usually stinks round there.

Jameson's has some memories for me as in my early days I often stayed at the adjacent Nova Park. Very similar to the Residence Garden, suite type, 2 rooms and the place a bit out of the way! I had some good meals delivered to my room from there, I recall the ribs well. The pub interior was indeed gloomy but the weekend roast carvery often got me in there. Too far off the beaten track to be a contender, walking back down a dark soi SaiSong 4 very late was a little concerning but mostly I was on a M/C taxi being followed by another. A pizza shop next door is a fair fit for the hotel, but I wonder how Jameson's survived.
